Ah I really enjoyed seeing your visit as I didn’t get there this year thank you. Absolutely love the fabric and pattern for the Vogue coat, looking forward to seeing that! x

Thanks so much! I didn't manage to get my annual fix this year but sharing your descriptions and experience has helped me get over it! I'll be sure to go next year 😊

Thanks so much for sharing your day out. I love the fabric you bought. It would be hard not to buy too much. There aren't any sewing shows where i live in Canada so I live vicariously through all the sewing vloggers who share their day out.

HI Jennett, yes it would be hard to come away empty handed, I don't have that much self control!

I’ve been there today, too, and loved it. I came over from Germany to visit the show with my friend.

That's a long way to come! I am glad you enjoyed it, do you have similar shows in Germany?

@@gemimalondon, no we haven’t unfortunately. Since COVID I follow lots of you sewists in the UK and instantly wanted to see the show, when I first heard about it.
We have a fabric market with a few haberdashery stalls at site. But it’s outside and only one Sunday.

Thanks for showing the Show. I have had the Vogue 1921 for a few years, and although I’ve got several fabrics earmarked for it, (including a gorgeous green viscose satin that I bought from Rainbow Fabrics last year), I haven’t actually got round to making it. It’s a copy of an Ossie Clark dress.

Hi Rose, it's such a beautiful dress, not sure what i'm going to make it in yet but I am sure i have something that would work!

Brilliant, thanks Rachel. Gives me a few ideas. I have an Oliso iron which I’m happy with. I think its main strength is that it gets very very hot so you can press really well and the steam function is very good. I’ve actually bought a special silicone mat for it to stand on so it doesn’t scorch the ironing board. The auto lift I have mixed feelings about. The place the iron sits on my ironing board isn’t flat so I can’t put the Oliso on it. You also have to pause between picking it up and actually ironing while the legs go up which isn’t intuitive at first but you get used to it. If you like to work at speed it might not suit you. Thanks also for all the information and links. I wondered if you knew what the dress pattern was that your cousin bought? x

Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing your experience of the Oliso Iron, I'm still considering it at the moment. The dress pattern my cousin bought "TFC 8895 Long sleeves skin fit dress" sizes 8 to 18, was from a stand called "Shoppers Planet" www.shoppers-planet.com I can't actually find it on their website, I have also googled it and still can't find it! but you could try emailing them on sales@shoppers-planet.com or call them on 07429827647, do let me know if you track one down! it's a fab dress! x

I'm going to the show tomorrow - looking forward to it. I have the Oliso iron, which I actually bought at the show 2 years ago. I really like that there is a large water tank, and it presses well. I don't like that (for safety) the legs go in and out with a squeaky noise each time you pick it up or set it down, which also slows down the process of ironing. I think my Rowenta, which is much less expensive, is just as good (I just don't like the water tank on it).
