- The suns out, school has wrapped up and young people are trading in their student IDs for work IDs but new numbers are showing for some youth, it might be a bit harder for them to land a job right now.

I'm an adult and can't find a job for almost a year. They are hiring international students and immigrants only cause they have no leverage.
The government pays my friends security company to hire Indian students. That is anti Canadian.
both my girlfriend and I are in our late 20s. We spent nearly a year before we each found a job. Years of experience in the fields we were applying in. The actual issue is due to recruitment agencies working with franchises and swapping out international students with another once their time is up

International student program exhausted job market, rental property and even college admissions to local students. For some years Colleges were encouraging students to apply for apprenticeship positions programs rather than credit post graduate programs to leave room for international students.

all jobs want experience, schools are supposed to give us experience and yet we graduate with a worthless degree and in debt while interest piles on. sometimes i feel like the middle ages wasnt so bad because education didnt ruin society

With minimum wage so high, why would company hire a youth with no experience than someone with 10 years experience?
I know right, i use work at one of Nordstrom in buildings office full time. Now i thinking about working retail but not alot hiring go on right now 12 years ago wasn't like this. I use to work popeyes and second cup back i was in high school. Now today is ridiculous
Minimum wage is actually comparatively low to economic development. If your business can't afford to operate and pay it's employees a fair amount; it's by unviable by definition in capitalism.
Defending/saving these companies only ends in them outsourcing to cheaper labour to the poorest people (immigrants, sweatshops, child labour, etc.).
Calm down people, the budget will balance itself because of drink-box, water-bottle sorta things.

Students should use direct sale companies like Avon to get work experience to put on their resume.
