QOD: Seth I’m running the Chicago Marathon this October. I ran it back in 2019 and had only been running since early 2017. I turn 50 this weekend and feel better today then ever before. I have fell in love with running but mainly trails. Since starting in 2017 I’ve ran up to a 50 mile trail race and definitely is where my heart is. Looking forward to Chicago and beating my PR by a lot. I appreciate you and the DGR family. I’ve learned so much over the years from you. Everyone have a blessed day and have fun training.
QD. I have London in October. Be my 3rd time running it. 2:50, 2:41. So hopefully I can get a sub 2:40 and London championship entry for April next year. Will also be running Chicago marathon next year. Make sure you take your time and don't rush back with this injury. As runners we can tend to want to start running again before we should. So get back fit and strong and I'm sure you can have a strong finish at the end of the year
Starting next week my 15 weeks training for my first marathon in November 13. Is the Athens Authentic Marathon. My rotation is: Easy & Long Runs (and progressive long runs) - Skechers GO RUN Maxroad 5 Tempo & Threshold - New Balance Rebel v2 Race Day - New Balance RC Elite v2
Currently training for my third half marathon this year and this is my shoe rotation for a training block; 1. Recovery/Easy days - Puma Eternity Nitro (works for me when the legs are tired) 2. Daily- Puma Velocity Nitro v2/ Asics Noosa TR14 3. Tempo/Fartlek- Saucony Endorphin v1/NB Rebel v2 4. Mid/Long run- Asics Glideride 2/Asics Novablast v2 (great shoe if you need to do some speed work during a long run) 5. Threshold- Saucony Pro v1 Trails- NB Hierro v7
QOD: I have my first Marathon in October and 4 weeks into training. My easy day/recovery shoes/daily are ASICS Nimbus 24, Nike Pegasus 39 & New Balance 1080v11. For tempos/workouts I have a few to choose from depending on what I'm doing so, New Balance Rebel V2, Adidas Adizero Pro, New Balance Pacer & New Balance FC Elite 2. For anything that's marathon specific, a long run workout I have a newer pair of Nike Alphafly (what I'll race in) & a older pair of Alphafly. Don't intend to get anything else but you never know.
QD: Most runs: Asics GlideRide3 Tempo: New Balance Rebel v2 The GlideRide3 is such a shoe. Great on long runs, and even feels good picking up the pace for a fast finish long run. Such a win for Asics! Plan to race in the MagicSpeed 2 QD2: Running NYC this fall :)
#1: I have 30 miles on the Saucony Tempus, which I am rotating with my Asics Novablast 2s for daily and long runs. As a neutral runner, I'm appreciating the added stability and injury protection. I use the Saucony Endorphin Speed for uptempo workouts. If you're considering the Tempus, be forewarned that they take 20+ miles to break in. #2: I'm planning on a fall marathon, probably Baystate on 16 October, contingent on keeping injuries at bay until then!
Just got a pair of Puma velocity nitros today. Having a half marathon on august 21st. Just got back into running this year, so no marathon this fall, just to be safe :)
I got diagnosed with covid last September and I got long haulers covid and had so much trouble running after. I finished off my cross country season and then was off and on but not consistent at all. Last week I decided I need to start running again and I finally am going strong almost 2 weeks back and am so happy to be part of the community again. Also I’ve been running in the peg 39 absolutely love them
Training for the Dublin marathon at the end of October. Nice review of the various shoes. I have wider feet so my rotation reflects this. Recovery - Brooks Glycerin 19 2E Daily - NB 880v11 2E Tempo - NB Fuelcell TC Long Run - Asics Nimbus 24 2E Threshold - NB Fuelcell TC Also using NB RC elite V2 for some of the marathon pace efforts and probably will use this on race day.
Daily Easy Mile: New Balance 880 v12 Long Runs: New Balance 1080 v12 Race Day: New Balance RC Elite v2 Trails: New Balance More Trail or Saucony Peregrine 12 New Balance has always made a shoe that worked for me every time. They fall into the good to great range. Other companies, like Saucony, fall into bad to great. I got tired of trying shoes that just didn't work for me, so I pretty much stick with New Balance now. I'll probably replace these with the latest versions as they become available, and add in the new Rebel or Pacer when it becomes available. No hurry, though. The 880 feels great for tempo work already.
QD 1: my current rotation is Invincible for easy/recovery, Novablast 2 daily trainer, Endorphin Speed 2 or Streakfly for intervals and Tempo, Alphafly or RC Elite 2 for long runs.
Hi Seth, My next marathon will be in October in Perth WA. My wife and I will be moving out there shortly from the UK to be with our sons and to watch our new granddaughter grow up. Also I've just been accepted as a charity runner for the Tokyo marathon in March. Exciting times ahead 👍🏃♂️
@@trischristian6809 That's awesome mate. Hope everything worked out for you. I'm looking forward to a few early morning runs around Swan River and discovering new routes. All the best to you 👍
QOD - Hey Seth, I am running the London Marathon for the British Liver Trust in October and it'll be my first marathon. I've recently come back to running in the past couple years after multiple years off due to increasing poor health. I watch every day and DGR has been a massive source of inspiration during this time. I used to run shorter distance track and cross country in my teens. Now I'm predominantly a trail runner, but I found I couldn't say no when the opportunity to run for a charity that has supported me personally came up. I have an extremely rare liver disease that has caused me issues throughout my life, something that has only recently been able to be controlled via enzyme replacement therapies and changes in lifestyle. One of those being regular running and what I consume to aid that. Running with the illness I have can throw up barriers when training. Some days I can run 7 minute miles with ease or like today, running a 10 minute mile became very difficult. Still even on those days I'm thankful to still be here, to still be doing what I'm doing and loving the gift of being outside in the world running. Thanks DGR for hyping me up to run daily and anyone who doesn't think they can run due to health problems, keep at it, its so worth it whatever speed we are running at. Aaron
: I'm using two pairs for the fall marathon training block: Recovery - Daily - Long Run: Nike invincible run. They're perfect for me. (I've just got a new a pair of the second iteration for 99€ during the sales for when I'll reach 500 km with the actual pair of the first model) Threshold - Tempo - Intervals: Nike Zoom FLy 4 (same here, found another pair for less than 70€ during sales. Waiting to "finish" the current pair) I've got to save some money for raceday shoes Also thanks for the comment of the day pick up!
I was in week 10 of an 18 week block for my first marathon in September. Last weekend I partially tore my MCL wake surfing and am out for the marathon. Still coping with the disappointment of not being able to run! Thanks for the Videos Seth!
QOD. Got the invincibles for those easy days, Rebel V2's or Ultra glides if hitting trail for those more peppy tempo runs and break out the vaporfly for the threshold runs. I think your vlogs have given me so much education on running shoes and showing me that different shoes serve different purposes. in the past I would have just gone to a store and blindly bought what i think "looked" like a good shoe to run in. Thanks for all the daily entertainment and Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery. All the best from Aberdeen Scotland
QOD: Training for the Dallas Marathon in December Easy days - ASICS Novablast (although awaiting the release of the Saucony Triumph 20) Daily trainer - ASICS Novablast Tempo/Speed/Threshold - Nike Vaporfly Next% (I love these shoes and have multiple, multiple pairs due to crazy sales) Long run - Adidas Prime X (love these shoes but the running path must be near impeccable) Race - Nike Vaporfly (below HM) / Nike Alphafly (Marathon)
I’m a little obsessed with my Saucony Tempus. This shoe is both incredibly comfortable and supportive, and I easily took it faster than 6minute/mile pace. Be warned, it’s hard to run slow in this shoe!
QOD: Asics Nimbus Lite 2 as daily trainers and for easy days and recovery runs. Asics Novablast 2 for tempo days on the road and sometimes daily trainers Saucony Endorphin Speed 1 for tempo days at stadium and road, threshold and all high speed runs.
QOD: Not training for a marathon but a trail 50km in October. For roads I'm running in the Topo Athletic Magnifly 4 for tempo/faster runs and Phantom 2 for long and easy runs. Trails I'm running in Altra Lone Peak 6 (faster runs) and Olympus 4 (easy runs/hiking). Would love to see you review a shoe from Topo, maybe the Specter which seems up your alley and could be a good marathon race day shoe!
QD: I'm running the Long View Marathon in Fort Collins, CO on Oct 1st. My current rotation: (easy/recovery) Hoka Mach 5, (daily trainer) Saucony Endorphin Speed/Hoka Mach 5, (tempo) Hoka Rocket X/Saucony Endorphin Pro 2, (long run) Hoka Mach 5, Saucony Endorphin Speed, (race day) New Balance RC Elite v2.
I am training in no shoe at the moment sadly due to injury. I was running in the Mach 4. The injury sucks though because it’s been going on since 2021 of January.
QOD: Everday runs Saucony Guide 15. It was a flip of the coin between this and buying the Tempus. Speed runs in Saucony Pro 2. A bit hesitant in buying the Pro 3. Scouring the internet for Pro 2 sales in preparation for the Dublin Marathon 🇮🇪 my 3rd marathon and 2nd in the year. Like what your doing with the shoedio!
I’m running Chicago this year and wish I could get some of these shoes into my lineup. I’m currently uses the Mach a5 s a daily trainer and Novblast 2 for easy days . Then the Endorphin speed for tempo work!
Running the Whistle stop marathon in Ashland, Wisconsin in October. My favorite daily trainer are my Altra Torins. I also just picked up a pair if Altra Paradigms for recovery. I bought Vanish Carbons for race day but they didn't fit do I returned them. Reordered in size 11. Stay tuned.
Makes me feel grateful and lucky to be able to get out and run when I see you running past homeless people in the side streets you were running through
Long run today for XC Trying to get 11 miles today I am training in New Balance 880v12 for today Daily Trainer- New Balance 880v12 I am getting the vongo v5 My Tempo Shoe- New Balance Fresh Foam X Tempo v2 Recovery Day/Easy Day- Hoka Bondi 7 My XC Race Spike- Saucony carrera XC4 Spike 10k Road Racing Shoe - New balance SC pacer (when I get it) Trail Shoe- Altra Lone Peak 4
Wish I had a marathon lined up for the Fall. Might have to make do with the virtual London again. Time to get back to work with some training for sure.
QOD: Chicago marathon - easy Nike invincible/daily Novablast 2/uptempo endorphin speed - threshold/adios pro 2 - 5k work/Takumi sen 8. Thanks for the content, started my own channel to chronicle the journey inspired by the channel. If you can do it with 5 kids, I can manage it with 3
My Fall marathon will be Rocket City. My rotation: Daily Trainers- it really depends how my legs are feeling. If my legs don’t feel good (high cushion). Long run depends what’s the workout could be the shift, speed, or any carbon shoes.
My training set is one pair of SL20.2 (nearing 600km) for easy run, one pair of RC2 for some tempo and interval runs, one pair of adios5 for an occasional tempo run, and another pair of SL20.2 for the weekend longer runs - aim is to run a marathon end of Aug in the adios5. I am not a very fast runner - yet to break 4h15m 🙂
I am training for the CIM and am going to be training in the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 for most of my runs, and have the Noosa Tri 14 as a non plated daily! I am a heavier person from weight training (185lbs at the moment) so the added support will be greatly beneficial as the mileage builds up
Hey Seth! I have been base building at the moment but starting training on August 1st for NYC! Pretty stoked about it. I have tons of shoes that I rotate🫣 but I’ll just put down my go favorites. Recovery/Easy/Daily: Asics NovaBlast 2 Tempo/Fartlek: Nike Tempo Mid/Long Run: Mach 5 / Nike ZoomFly 4 Threshold: Nike StreakFly / Nike VaporFly 2 Really waiting for the Endorphin Speed 3 to release! Thanks for all you do for this community Seth! Cheers! I appreciate you!
I do a lot of my base building and long runs in the Mizuno wave rider 25. It’s a really durable shoe especially for out here on some of the dirt roads of VT. I’m used to running a lot of miles in it. For the thresholds/intervals i picked up a cheap pair of saucony endorphin pro 2’s. These are right on par with the original vapor fly IMO and seem more durable for more miles. I was planning to race in the saucony Endorphin Pro 3, but could reconsider that and might use the shoe more for longer threshold efforts, and maybe some prep races
I'm training for the Philadelphia Marathon in November with this being my 3rd marathon. I've been loving the Asics novablast 2 and Saucony guide 15 for my long and easy runs. I also just got the Saucony Tempus for workouts and I love them. Only wore them once but it was amazing
I have my first marathon in October in Amsterdam. You’re absolutely right Saucony has been killing it. I use the endorphin speed 2 for the majority of my training. As a matter of fact I bought two pairs. They’re great! I will probably race in them. If not I might go with the endorphin pro. Thanks for all the informative content Seth. I’m a big fan.
Aiming for my 5th marathon in March 2023 (yes I know it's not autumn time) so I've just added Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and New Balance RC Elite 2 to my collection while they are discounted 😎 I've never ran in Saucony shoes before so looking forward to a first run this weekend in them🏃 I also got a heavily discounted pair of Nike Vomero 16's recently and they seem really good for those daily miles (15 so far).
QOD: half marathon in October. I'm dropping from 50ks and 50milers to my first road race :). adidas takumi sen 8 for speed sessions, mach 4 for long runs, Altra Escalante racer for easy/daily runs. I like a low stack shoe for foot strength and form on easier days.
Heya! Next marathon is in Dec for the CIM! Daily: Asics Novablast 2 Tempo: Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 Intervals: Adidas Takumi Sen 8 Threshold: Nike Vaporfly Next % 2 Race day: Nike Alphafly Next %
Currently training for Cape Town Marathon on October 16th, it will be the first of three years that this race is judged to be included in the world majors. I tried a couple of shoes, but reverted to the Novablast 2 for all my runs and will probably run the marathon in them as well. Maybe I will get the NOOSA for the marathon, but living in Namibia limits the shoes we have available to us 🤣🤣
Cool. Also also training for that one, since I live in Cape Town. It's going to be my first marathon. Currently training with the New Balance Fresh Foam v11.
Training for a small rail trail marathon in October. As much as I don’t want to, I need those stability shoes for the road. Currently running in Topo Ultrafly and Altra Provisions (previous version, don’t like new one) for easy/everyday trainer and Saucony Fatswitch for faster days. I still run trails a few days a week and I love Altra Superiors.
Almost through my training block, culminating this Sunday in Rotterdam for a half marathon! I'm currently running in two pairs of Mach 4s (one for easy days, one for speedwork), a pair of Triumph 18s for long runs (they feel very heavy though, gonna sub em out for something lighter in the future!), and currently doing occasional threshold on my racing shoes, the Rocket X! There's a bunch of shoes I'd like to sub in n out to refine my line-up, but so far it's working for me ^^
Thanks for the video! I'm running the Honolulu Marathon in December. This will be my 4th in a row! My goal is sub-4 hour. My go-to for easy, mid-distance or long-distance has been the Nike Pegasus. I've also used the Hoka One One Rincon. For speed work and race day, I used the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%.
I use the Glideride2 and Novablast2 for easy and long runs, with the Magic Speed for anything faster. My first official marathon is early December (ran two last year, but alone) so I hesitate a lot between Glideride3 or Metaspeed Sky (got a pair I use for 10k and half marathon races, but not sure how it will feel at slower pace of 5:00 per km)
I am a 65 y/o, 220# person returning to running... my marathon training shoes are NB 1080 v12 for roads and NB Hierro v7 for trails. Looking for a packed gravel/buffed dirt, flat marathon race shoe (11 min/mile)
QD: training for the St. George Marathon using mainly old Vaporfly 4% (the lower stack height works well for me on intervals, even on the track) and the Streakfly for speed runs, old Vaporfly Next% and Alphafly 1’s for long runs, and alternating Pegasus and Invincible for daily training and recovery days. Still deciding between the new Alphafly 2 and the more proven Vaporfly 2 for race day.
I'm completing week 8 of 16 tomorrow for my 2nd ever marathon in Long Beach on October 9th. My rotation is well stocked though I have some of the older model shoes. Hey, there're still good!
Hi Seth, have you ever heard of the Comrades Marathon in South Africa. 🇿🇦 It’s a pretty prestigious ultra marathon with a long history. Would you ever consider doing it ?
QD: No fall marathon, just Boston next spring. However, today I registered with a friend to do the CIM Relay, so I’ll be doing the 1st, longer half (13.6?) Current rotation includes the Saucony Ride15 and Cloudmonster for LR’s, Hyperion Tempo for speed work and shorter, faster runs, and using up older pairs of Endorphin Speed 1 and 2 for misc.--they do it all. I’ve been doing my marathons in the latter, but recently bought the Asics Edge+ which I hope to use for CIM and Boston. Martha. PS. If I do any 5-10K’s I’ll be using the Takumi Sen8. I loved it on its maiden voyage @ BolderBoulder
Running my first marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon, at the end of October. Was supposed to run it back in 2020 but, well - so this will be my third training block but first marathon 😂. Got in the Asics Kayano 28 (on sale, gratefully) and it's been doing the trick, especially after dealing with knee/ankle pain over the winter.
I have Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 for daily/easy, Nike Streakfly or Saucony Kinvara 13 for speed/tempo work, some Nike track spikes too, and I do all of my long runs in Vaporflys, though occasionally I'll throw in my Rocket X in for fun 🤷🏻♂️
QD : For low pace or strength training, I grab my Pegasus 38. Bought them before watching any review as they were also recommended by the local store. Not the best at the beginning, felt firm and the upper heavy, but now they are ok For speed work, I'm using the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2, LOVE THEM, not much else to say other than I want another pair as it was my go to for any race for a long time but I invested in the Vaporfly 2 as I'm preparing for the Quebec marathon in October. My first and hope to run sub 3 Cheers from France 🇫🇷 👍
QD: easy runs : Hoka rincon 3 and Nike invincible tempo and threshold : saucony endorphin speed and speed work and marathon specific work : Nike vaporfly next %
although I won't be running a marathon I spoiled myself last month by buying the Glideride 3 (Love, love, love them. and I was a big fan of the no's 1) and, because they're affordable now, the endorphin speed 2. Quite different shoes and I still do have to get used to the speeds, but my rotation for the coming autumn and winter is covered. If I can pinch some more pennies I will buy another pair of Glideride 3 because I can't imagine the v4 being better. Hope you recover soon.
Thanks for the recommendations, as a bigger guy I love my Endorphin Speeds for daily training except version 2 fit way too tight, I think I’ll try V3 because I’ve heard they fixed that issue.
Running a half marathon in the fall and a marathon in the spring so I'm already buying shoes for my marathon training as there are some good deals out there right now. I'm thinking Hoka Mach 5s for easy/steady running, Saucony Endorphin Speed 2s for tempos/thresholds and speed workouts and then the Saucony Endorphine Pro 3s for race day.
Easy - NB fresh foam more V3 - I could wear this shoe all the time. I need to buy some stock to have as they're just the best! Daily - Pegasus 39 (meh, would rather switch it up but got flights to buy) Tempo - Speed 2 just picked up a pair for £90 (bargain) Trails - Fuji Lite 2 Race day - undecided for Chicago Marathon, need to make a decision (endorphin pro 3, next %2 or Alpha 1/2)
QD speed 2 and the Novablast 2 eat up most of my miles, and I also Like to do long runs in the Puma Deviate Elite. I will be doing the Detroit Marathon in October.
Just got a great deal on the Hoka Mach 4 over at Dick’s Sporting Goods. After a $10 reward and a free shipping code I received, the total was $86 including tax
QOD: I am running my third marathon here in early November, 12 days after my first kid is born. Timing was not optimal, however this is a race from 2020 that still has not occurred goal is 3:10 however we shall see just excited to get another one under my belt. Recovery shoe hoka clifton 7, speed/tempo new balance rebel V 2, threshold speed 2, daily shoe novablast 1, and long run triumph 18
Training for NYC Marathon in November. I'm currently running in a trio of NB shoes - More, Rebelv2 and 1080v12. I'm contemplating a race day shoe but not sure what I'll try just yet.
Qd: I only train in the new balance fresh foam 1080 v10. They have worked super well for me for a long time. I’ve gone through 4 pairs, 3 of which have over 1000 miles on them. But now I’m out of colors to buy! So I’m looking into a new pairs/version
I am currently training in a asics gt4000 for my second marathon in October. As you said, thats when the marathon season starts! I have just started my training this week. I am running all of my runs in these shoes. You suggest to run in different shoes for lets say different type of runs in this video, but is there an advantage for using different type of shoes? I mean you can also get more used to one shoe and benefit from that. Just curious to hear your opinion about this!
I would love to see a recommendation like this with all shoes of at least 8mm drop. Less than that and my Achilles flares up. On 8-10mm I do fine. Kinvara for example my Achilles starts hurting within the first mile. BTW I am doing Portland Marathon October 2nd a week after getting married. I use Saucony Ride for longer runs, Brooks Ghost for easy runs, NB Fresh Foam Arishi for speed, and Saucony Endorphin Pro for racing.
Half marathon prep:
Easy/recovery: Asics Novablast 2
Long with tempo: NB RC Elite v2, Vaporfly 4%, Endorphin Speed 2
Threshold: NB Rebel v2, Vaporfly 4%, Streakfly
Anaerobic: Streakfly, Rebel v2, Rincon 3
Trail: Hoka Speedgoat 5; Nike Pegasus 36
Race: Vaporfly next% 2

U have too many shoes.
Shoes are being over focused on and even obsessed about.
Most average runners don’t need more than three pairs of shoes. It’s not about the shoes.
Process of discovering those three pairs leads to many pairs and then u learn
QD:
Most runs: Asics GlideRide3
Tempo: New Balance Rebel v2
The GlideRide3 is such a shoe. Great on long runs, and even feels good picking up the pace for a fast finish long run. Such a win for Asics!
Plan to race in the MagicSpeed 2
QD2: Running NYC this fall :)

Recovery - Brooks Glycerin 19 2E
Daily - NB 880v11 2E
Tempo - NB Fuelcell TC
Long Run - Asics Nimbus 24 2E

Also using NB RC elite V2 for some of the marathon pace efforts and probably will use this on race day.
First Marathon in October!! (Garmin Kansas City)
Training rotation:
1) daily trainer Noosa-Tri 13
2) easy day Novablast 2
3) long runs Glideride 3
Daily Easy Mile: New Balance 880 v12
Long Runs: New Balance 1080 v12

Recovery - Daily - Long Run: Nike invincible run. They're perfect for me. (I've just got a new a pair of the second iteration for 99€ during the sales for when I'll reach 500 km with the actual pair of the first model)
Threshold - Tempo - Intervals: Nike Zoom FLy 4 (same here, found another pair for less than 70€ during sales. Waiting to "finish" the current pair)
I've got to save some money for raceday shoes
Also thanks for the comment of the day pick up!
I was in week 10 of an 18 week block for my first marathon in September. Last weekend I partially tore my MCL wake surfing and am out for the marathon. Still coping with the disappointment of not being able to run! Thanks for the Videos Seth!
Get better friend. There are always more races.
It would be nice if you selected one do-it-all shoe. For all training and the race. For people on a limited budget.
QOD:
Training for the Dallas Marathon in December
Easy days - ASICS Novablast (although awaiting the release of the Saucony Triumph 20)
Daily trainer - ASICS Novablast
Tempo/Speed/Threshold - Nike Vaporfly Next% (I love these shoes and have multiple, multiple pairs due to crazy sales)
Long run - Adidas Prime X (love these shoes but the running path must be near impeccable)
Race - Nike Vaporfly (below HM) / Nike Alphafly (Marathon)
Dallas marathon is really fun! That was my first marathon!
I’m a little obsessed with my Saucony Tempus. This shoe is both incredibly comfortable and supportive, and I easily took it faster than 6minute/mile pace. Be warned, it’s hard to run slow in this shoe!
QOD:
Asics Nimbus Lite 2 as daily trainers and for easy days and recovery runs.
Asics Novablast 2 for tempo days on the road and sometimes daily trainers
Saucony Endorphin Speed 1 for tempo days at stadium and road, threshold and all high speed runs.
Puma Velocity Nitro 2, OG Endorphin Speed, and Takumi Sen 8.
QD: I'm running the Long View Marathon in Fort Collins, CO on Oct 1st. My current rotation: (easy/recovery) Hoka Mach 5, (daily trainer) Saucony Endorphin Speed/Hoka Mach 5, (tempo) Hoka Rocket X/Saucony Endorphin Pro 2, (long run) Hoka Mach 5, Saucony Endorphin Speed, (race day) New Balance RC Elite v2.

Running the Amsterdam Marathon in October.
My shoe rotation is Recovery - Nike Invincible 1; Daily - Puma Velocity Nitro 2; Medium / Long - Saucony Endorphin 3; Threshold- Nike Vaporfly 1 (old pair)
I am training in no shoe at the moment sadly due to injury. I was running in the Mach 4. The injury sucks though because it’s been going on since 2021 of January.
QOD:
Everday runs Saucony Guide 15.
Using Edorphin Speed 2 for Tempo, Endorphin Pro 2 for Speed, and Invinsible 2 for Long Runs 🤙🏽
I’m running Chicago this year and wish I could get some of these shoes into my lineup. I’m currently uses the Mach a5 s a daily trainer and Novblast 2 for easy days . Then the Endorphin speed for tempo work!
I’m running Amsterdam Marathon this year! Easy day More V3 perfect to keep easy days easy

If you can do it with 5 kids, I can manage it with 3
I’ll be doing my first 26.2 ever, this coming December here in Florida.
I am a heavier person from weight training (185lbs at the moment) so the added support will be greatly beneficial as the mileage builds up
Indy Monumental in November. Easy(maxroad 4+/5), daily (razor excess), tempo (endo speed, rc elite v1, deviate elite) , intervals ( endo pro 1, deviate elite), long run ( adios pro 2, rc elite 2), race (vaporfly and alphafly)
Hey Seth! I have been base building at the moment but starting training on August 1st for NYC! Pretty stoked about it.
I have tons of shoes that I rotate🫣 but I’ll just put down my go favorites.
Recovery/Easy/Daily: Asics NovaBlast 2
Tempo/Fartlek: Nike Tempo
Mid/Long Run: Mach 5 / Nike ZoomFly 4
Threshold: Nike StreakFly / Nike VaporFly 2
Really waiting for the Endorphin Speed 3 to release!
Seth: have you been Wim Hof- method in cold water?!?!
It’s unreal.
Not training for a marathon but right now I train almost exclusively in the Nike invincibles not sure what shoe to pick up to rotate with
Aiming for my 5th marathon in March 2023 (yes I know it's not autumn time) so I've just added Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and New Balance RC Elite 2 to my collection while they are discounted 😎
I've never ran in Saucony shoes before so looking forward to a first run this weekend in them🏃
I also got a heavily discounted pair of Nike Vomero 16's recently and they seem really good for those daily miles (15 so far).
Easy& recovery: novablast2; NB 1080v10
Long run: glideride
Up tempo: endorphine speed 2
Interval/track: Puma liberate nitro
Race: endorphine speed 2
Seth, would love for you to sign up for a Spartan Race as something different!
Novablast 2, magic speed and fuji lite 2, for the Valencia Marathon 4 of December
Heya! Next marathon is in Dec for the CIM!
Daily: Asics Novablast 2
Tempo: Saucony Endorphin Speed 2
Intervals: Adidas Takumi Sen 8
Threshold: Nike Vaporfly Next % 2
Race day: Nike Alphafly Next %
QOD: I have 4 pair of Saucony Kinvara 12 and two pair of the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2. Saved so much money with the older model and sales.
Hoka Mach 4, my third pair, and Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 1 to race in October. St. George UT
Hi Seth, have you ever heard of the Comrades Marathon in South Africa. 🇿🇦
It’s a pretty prestigious ultra marathon with a long history. Would you ever consider doing it ?
Asics Gel Nimbus for recovery and long runs. Asics Noosa-Tri for tempo runs. Asics Magic Speed for interval and speed workouts.
QD :
For low pace or strength training, I grab my Pegasus 38. Bought them before watching any review as they were also recommended by the local store. Not the best at the beginning, felt firm and the upper heavy, but now they are ok
For speed work, I'm using the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2, LOVE THEM, not much else to say other than I want another pair as it was my go to for any race for a long time but I invested in the Vaporfly 2 as I'm preparing for the Quebec marathon in October. My first and hope to run sub 3
Cheers from France 🇫🇷 👍
QD 2: I'm training for Turin Marathon too on 6th of November. So, a little message to Marco, see you there mate! can't wait to hear the start gun
QD: easy runs : Hoka rincon 3 and Nike invincible
tempo and threshold : saucony endorphin speed and speed work and marathon specific work : Nike vaporfly next %
I'm using pegasus 39 for long run, saucony endorphin speed v1 for tempo & speed, asics novablast v2 for easy run in 🇦🇺
Skechers Go Run Ride 9 (daily), Saucony Endorphine Speed 2 (tempo) and NB More V2 (recovery)
although I won't be running a marathon I spoiled myself last month by buying the Glideride 3 (Love, love, love them. and I was a big fan of the no's 1) and, because they're affordable now, the endorphin speed 2. Quite different shoes and I still do have to get used to the speeds, but my rotation for the coming autumn and winter is covered. If I can pinch some more pennies I will buy another pair of Glideride 3 because I can't imagine the v4 being better.
Hope you recover soon.
Adistar: long/recovery runs
Boston 10: progression runs
Adios: fartkek/tempo run
Takumi Sen 8: threshold runs/track
Adios pro 2: marathon day
Thanks for the recommendations, as a bigger guy I love my Endorphin Speeds for daily training except version 2 fit way too tight, I think I’ll try V3 because I’ve heard they fixed that issue.
QOD: Saucony Speed 2 for speed work and Asics GT-2000 v9 for the slower training. Next marathon is Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Daily - Pegasus 39 (meh, would rather switch it up but got flights to buy)
Tempo - Speed 2 just picked up a pair for £90 (bargain)
Trails - Fuji Lite 2
Race day - undecided for Chicago Marathon, need to make a decision (endorphin pro 3, next %2 or Alpha 1/2)
QD speed 2 and the Novablast 2 eat up most of my miles, and I also Like to do long runs in the Puma Deviate Elite. I will be doing the Detroit Marathon in October.
Puma Eternity Nitro (Easy runs), NB Rebel v2 and Asics Magic Speed (Tempo and Intervals)
QOD: Endorphin Speed 1 and Mach 4. Should nearly finish them off with this training block, but the speeds are just so good.
Just got a great deal on the Hoka Mach 4 over at Dick’s Sporting Goods. After a $10 reward and a free shipping code I received, the total was $86 including tax
QD: Mach 5, More V3, Rebel V2 for Chicago and NYC
ASIC nova blast 2 are my long run go to… so much fun and comfortable
Im not training for a marathon this fall/winter but I’m splitting time between my Hoka Clifton 8s and Asics Novablast 2s.
Qd: I only train in the new balance fresh foam 1080 v10. They have worked super well for me for a long time. I’ve gone through 4 pairs, 3 of which have over 1000 miles on them. But now I’m out of colors to buy! So I’m looking into a new pairs/version
QD: Nike Invincible for easy, Daily Puma Velocity 2, Tempo Saucony Endorphin Pro 2, Mid/long Puma Deviate Nitro, and Long Adidas Prime X.
QD: My next marathon is Berlin, Shoe : Saucony Endorphin Speed 2, Pro 1 and easy day NB 1080 V 12
QD: Hoka Clifton 7 for Berlin & Chicago aiming for a sub-4
Do half marathons count?
Long Run: Skechers Max Road 4, Brooks Glycerin 20, Asics GlideRide 1
Easy: Hoka Clifton 7, Nike Invincible
Tempo/Speedwork: Asics Hyper Speed, Saucony Endorphin Pro 1, Atreyu Artist
Race: Alphafly
