Lmao, what exactly did he communicate? It's a great melody but I feel like the lyrics were penned by a boomer who doesn't want kids to be able to be kids.
To me he is expressing the amount of suffering happening to people across the globe especially in the middle east. He is expressing how fortunate he is to be where he is but also completely fucked up because there is nothing he can do. He feels as though there is no point because we are all doomed anyway but also continuing to exist because he has found some kind of meaning to sustain him. Think in metaphors.

I was listening to this song on a walk with my dog, an early Misty summer morning, we played in the long grass, rolling around play fighting. listening to this song for the first time in months and that line about gaza hits so different now. i love this song and listened to it almost daily back in early 2023 and the line about gaza went totally over my head. i had no idea what was happening because even if people did talk about it i didn’t understand just how bad it is so i looked the other way.
