Beautiful slot cars Jimmy!!! My dad and I built 1/24 car’s similar to this and raced them at commercial tracks in the late ‘60’s early’70’s. Some of my best memories having fun with dad.
Yes Cad many say that this video brought back fond memories. If you haven't subscribed please do. Please go back and forward it to your friends and family.
Once again, Ryan and Derek, Thanks for highlighting something I have loved doing my whole life. Like so many car guys enjoying these videos, our car modeling hobby came to life once we found we could make slot cars out of all the wonderful 1/24 AMT, Johan, and Revel kits we built. When we were boys we were content showing our models to our family and a few friends. But the big difference today is that videos like this share the detail and engineering we put into our models with so many car people who can really appreciate it!
I love this stuff , every time I see it. Takes me right back to 1969.

Nicely built and well detailed cars, I never thought about using wood for a chassis. Very nice cars
We used to have a "Detroit" class at my local track for cars like that. On the outside, those cars are way more detailed than what we raced -- Same AMT 1/24th hard plastic bodies -- BUT it was the usual thing for us to build our cars so the bodies were loose, to dampen vibration. It definitely made a huge difference, too. Tighten the body to the chassis, the car would slide all over. Loosen it, and the cars would slide controllably. It looked funny, seeing them lean around the turns.
Wow, very impressive looking cars. When I was active around 65-67, our race nights always had a "concourse" event, where cars like that would have won time after time. Beautiful. We took realism somewhat seriously, but those cars are way beyond what we were doing. Nice, nice, nice!
Awesome builds we got a lot in common never thought of the hood pins
Great Rusty! Thanks for the nice comment. If you haven't already, go see the other segments the guys did. If you like them forward to your friends and please subscribe!
BTW … beautiful craftsmanship , as always.
Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your collection. These are the only scale I can remember as far as being called slot cars back in the late 60's & into the mid 70's, & I liked the idea of building them from any size 1/24 scale model. If I were to build a couple I would go with Chevrolet Corvairs, & Corvette bodies from the mid 60'sto early 70's; Just because of there aerodynamics, & how low you set them up. Thanks again for your video.
Beautiful!
Great John. Thanks for the nice comment. If you haven't already, go see the other segments the guys did. If you like them forward to your friends and please subscribe!
I love the 1/25 -24 scale cars 😎🤙😎
Excellent
MAN-O-MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim is there anything you can't do when it comes to the slot world hahahahhaha... That yellow chevy looks a lot like some of the car I have but since I'm just getting into the inner workings, I don't know enough to say what maker or even what year my cars are from. I would just race and buy a car if I liked it without giving "ANY" thought to what's under the hood so to speak lol
Love your vid's my friend could watch all day
Awesome cars and fascinating stories please keep em coming 🌴👍👍😎🌴
Honestly these slot car videos are making me want a slot car bro. I’ve been looking online and I thing I know what my first car finna be 🥹

Would love to see them on a 1,24th track racing. They remind me of the first ever model car I brought, a Bel Air two door post in black with flame graphics. I loved that ol thing and can still see it in my head 45 years later ✌️🇬🇧
Great memories Mark! Thanks for the nice comment. If you haven't already, go see the other segments the guys did. If you like them forward to your friends and please subscribe!

Siento enviada muy sana de la maravillosa pista de carreras y de los innumerables y preciosos detalles realistas que tiene. Me encantaría vivirlo en vivo. Muchísimas felicidades.
True Artistry ! Thanks
Thank you
These videos are just amazing the detail, Jimmy, that you really put in every single little thing you’ve done. It’s also amazing the ingenuity of how you actually put together a chassis for what amounts to is just model car building from the 60s!
Wish I could’ve kept a couple of my cars out of build back then when I was a kid.
Seriously cool cars 👏
love making them
WOW! Beautiful pieces of art Jimmy.
Can you please show us how you silicone the tires?

Good idea Ant. We will add that idea to the list.

Lovely job, i love NAS cars from that era as well. Ive got 3 shelves full of them, mainly running on parma fcr chassis, protrac, or H/R. One of our guys makes them out of wood too. I might have a go at it as well. Inspiring. ❤
Thank you
It would great to you build the other 3 cars sometime, content is fantastic.

I have a couple of question for M.Attard regarding scales.
1. Why did he choose 1/32 scale for its track over HO or 1/24 scale?
2. I would like to know M.Attard 2cents on the pros and cons of the different scales (1/24, 1/32, HO)
3. Finally, what scale would he recommend for an enthusiast looking to build a some what permanent track with some modeling to it in a reasonable space in a basement.
Thank you very much for your work and videos, very amazing and interesting stuff!!
Gabe I could not think of which scale to recomend to you until I saw you use the word reasonable describing your space. HO is cool because it fits right rooms but if you have the space go 1/32 scale because you not only get to see more detail but you will have even more fun creating it! Thanks for the nice comment. If you haven't already, go see the other segments the guys did. If you like them forward to your friends and please subscribe!
Gabe I meant to say HO fits TIGHT rooms
That is so cool nice collection nice layout are u planning to do any racing videos with your layout
Curtis please go see the racing videos elsewhere on the Lunch King channel. Thank you for following Lunch King. Please forward our work to your friends and family!

Can you please tell me what kind of black silicone you use to smear on rubber slot car tires
MP it is the same silicone that you buy at the auto supply store to put around windows to seal them it's black and it comes out of a tube about 4 and 1/2 to 5 in Long
Where can I find a 1/25 slot car driver figure in sit down position. Like from nascar era 1960s
Ken... That's my problem too! I used thick Army men.

Is the 4 tab better for a drag strip. Because someone is selling me track and he suggested 4 tab for dragging he's selling to me for 7$ a peace standard straight is that a bargain
want to see a race thanks
John the guys on LK have racing on my track in other segments. Thanks for the nice comment. If you haven't already, go see the other segments the guys did. If you like them forward to your friends and please subscribe!
Jimmy …. Don’t want to be a nit picker , but I believe that’s a Hudson not a ‘49 Ford ?
Please correct me if I’m wrong ..🥴
Hi Rob... Good observation but I miss spoke in the video... We are both wrong.... It's a 49 MERCURY! Thanks for your comment my friend.
