What a lovely feeling is left after watching your podcast! The yarn packs are just absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. It feels just sitting and chatting with a friend.
I've got my hurkle-durkle caked up ready and waiting for Laura Penrose's shawl pattern yet to be released. In the meantime I'm knitting on one of my blankets and sharing a morning coffee with you. xxx
Those yarn packs 😍 I’m thinking party balloons may have to be purchased pretty soon! So lovely to catch up with you. Always brings me into a calm place in this crazy world. Love to you Kelly ❤
Oh Kelly, I was so pleased to hear that the Lakeside Kingfisher and Duckling minis I sent back to you will be in your blanket... Cosy Memories indeed! ❤X
Ahhh Ann! Hedgehog Ann as you are still affectionately known in our house😂 i always kept them safe with this end goal in mind. Thank you so so much x
Love your yarn packs....all such gorgeous colours ❤
Lovely bit of time spent with you this morning...wonderful bit of Sunday relaxation x
I love your blanket. The mini skein packs are all lovely!
Lovely to sit and listen with you and seeing all your beautiful yarns. 😊

Lovely Sunday morning spent with you Kelly! Off to order the card packs now! Fabulous projects as ever xxx
Thanks for the catch up. Good to see you.
So fab to see a new chat here on UA-cam from you. That's got my day off to a good start. Can't wait for the next one and if you don't find time before. See you at EAYF. xxx
Yay! I will see you at EAYF🎉 thanks for using some of your precious time to spend it here with me♥️
It's so lovely to catch up with you again - and your mini skein palettes are beautiful! 💜🧶💜🧶💜
Oh Kelly ,all the pretties😊, another lovely catch up and as always you inspire 🫂❤from New Zealand 🙂
So lovely to see you and catch up. Lots of us wouldn’t mind if you have no knitting to share but we get the time and energy it takes to record. Hope you can rest a bit before the madness of the yarn shows.
I always love a catch up with you Kelly. I am coming to the East Anglia yarn festival and to his dismay so is Trev! We have booked a space on the knit night too. I have got Laura's show us your scraps pattern. I haven't made them yet though. I love the idea of the doodle decks but I will need to slowly add them. As it's a lot of money to try to get all of them together. I love your hat, beautiful colours. I am so looking forward to seeing you and Nick and all of the other lovely people at East Anglia Yarn Festival. I am so excited. Until then, knit on with hope and confidence. 😁
I am so glad I am not the only one who takes a while to knit my squares
I am always amazed at how long they take me. If i really focus i can do one in about 40 minutes but thats crazy to me for such a small thing.
Always love a little chat and catch up with you. Your stripey mitts for Nick are so nice. Love that color pack, but honestly they’re all beautiful. Hope you have a great show in March. Take care and thanks for dropping by😊
Hi Kelly, I love the story of the duckling and kingfisher yarns finding their way back to you….so sweet. Your palette packs are all lovely but the misty mountains and frosted eucalyptus are something special, just beautiful ❤❤

So lovely to catch up with you Kelly. The mini sets are just amazing colours. Hope the next show goes well…..wish you were here in Australia! Wouldn’t that be great. See you next week.
Australia! That would be wonderful……i could eat ALL the tam tams!! And strawberry freddo chocolate bars! Somebody sent me some once in a swap and i have never forgotten😂 thank you for taking some time out of your day to send with me x
Love your stripey mittens. My favourite pallette pack is the one with all the different shades of pink. Have a good week, Kelly. x
Lovely to spend my Saturday morning with a cuppa with you xx
Sending love sally, you are have been in my thoughts ♥️
Lovely to see you back, all those pallette packs are gorgeous so many pretty colors all together. Especially love your hat😍
Thank you so much! I appreciate you spending time with me x
It was such a lovely surprise to see you again Kelly. As always, I put on my slippers, got a cup of goodness along with an energy ball and sat back for all the yarny goodness. I Iove all color palettes but those peach tones, they are beautiful ❤ Take good care 😊
Susan, you are always so kind to me….thank you. I’m happy to hear you are keeping your strength up🤭
Ah Kelly, YOU are an absolute joy and a beautiful human being 💖 Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely projects and delicious palette packs, they are all gorgeous! I've got some original Lakeside Yarns in my mitred square blanket. How lovely to finish your blanket with some of your early colours 😊
Ahhh Caroline, you gorgeous lady! Yes Lakeside yarn as it was originally, how things have changed since then. My original metered square blanket has minis in it we did in a swap years and years ago…..such fond memories. X
@@layfamilyyarn 🥰
I hope you have a fabulous time at your Knitting fair! I know you’ll do great! I would love to purchase some of your pallet packs and speckled minis. No pressure, they just so beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing😊
Love the blanket and hat and colour palettes ❤
Thank you x
Lovely cosy post cast Kelly, I so enjoy listening to you and hearing your plans. I love your frosted eucalyptus colour way, I am coming back to UK in March and will definitely try to order from you!! 😊
Your alpine bloom is beautiful ❤( chef’s kiss!)
Hello Kelly! I love your blanket. It has so many beautiful colors and some lovely memories for you.
The Little Wartime Library by Kate Thompson. I'm partway into it now. It's very good! ❤
Oh my word , I want ALL of those colors!! And the doodle pack. That hat is gorgeous and you are right it would make a great water bottle cover.
Loving the palette collections and look forward to meeting you at EAYF!
Thank you for another lovely podcast, loved seeing your mini yarn packs and - wow - Frosted Eucalyptus 💜 really like that one 😊
You are so welcome! Thank you for keeping me company x
Your palette packs are just gorgeous! I would love to have them all but the postage would break me as I’m in the U.S. 😕 Oh well, I’ll admire from afar and splurge now and again! Hugs from Tennessee!
Just so lovely to see you again Kelly and to hear a little bit about your life as well. Your enthusiasm for other knitters is beautiful, as is your own wonderful yarn. Thankyou for another great podcast. Oh yes, I nearly forgot, I love my caravan too! ❤ xx
Loved all your makes, the stripes really show off the colours, the colour work hat is beautiful and I might have a go at some mittens. Personally I don’t think you can have too many blankets on the go🥰
Nice to catch up with you. I truly hope we can be there for our kids like yours were for you. I didn’t have those parents, but wish to be . Oh how I love the idea of the doodle cards. I am travelling from northern British Columbia, Canada down through the western coast of the USA in a camper van finding some warmer weather as I knit (almost finished) an Alamo’s Lopi cardigan. Your minis and all that they could be used for make me drool. 😊 Hope to find internet again the next time you post. Congratulations on the guest dyeing and have fun with the show circuit. I know it take a ton of work. ❤
Aww Kelly what a wonderful knit night with you. My ears pricked up when you mentioned Lincoln as that is where I live (my hometown) and my sister used to live in Telford, she’s now just outside of Telford. Small world we live in 😊. Denise, earthtones girl is such a beautiful person I quite agree, it was her who taught me to knit socks with her tutorials. I knit with 2 circulars and have loved knitting socks this way ever since. I’m loving your mini sets, what beautiful colours, take care, looking forward to next week ❤
Good to see you again, I love the frosted eucalyptus pack, trying to decide what I would make with it. X
Thank you for sending some time with me, I have cast on another hot water bottle cover with mine but will be making some socks too🥰
Big hugs Kelly. Thanks for a lovely knit and catch up. Take care.💕
Right back at you🥰🤗
Hi Kelly 👋, so good to see you. Your mitred square blanket is just gorgeous. I'm making one at the moment too. Your colourwork hat is beautiful especially with those pretty peachy colours 😍. The mittens, I'm sure Nick will appreciate wearing them at the EAYF. I wish you both well, hugs to you 🤗 x
Hi Carla, thank you for keeping me company as always. Sending big hugs to you x
Have a lovely week ❤
Thank you, you too x
I somehow missed the book recommendation for the wartime library, so thanks for sharing it and adding it to the description. Adding it to my list right now
I’ve just finished the book Natalie, it was wonderful. So atmospheric, funny, sad, and enlightening to the attitudes of the time. Highly recommend xx
Loved seeing the mini packs, such lovely colours, I can’t decide between the earth tones or the eucalyptus set, it’s to make a hat to go with an olive coloured coat. Hope it all goes well at the yarn festival, take care 😊
Thank you for your kind comment, the eucalyptus has been my fav lately but Earth tones speaks to my Autumn loving soul.
Kelly you are more than enough. Keep being you lovely lady. X
You are so kind, thankyou
The stripey mittens and the hat are so lovely!! It's always lovely to sit and watch you for a while, it really is like chatting to a friend! ❤❤
Love the colours in your mitre square blanket. I'm making one with sock yarn oddments where I've matched the yarn. I don't know why the squares take so long to knit. But yes if I get one or two knitted in an evening whilst watching TV then I'm lucky. Love all your mini pack colours. I need to be more adventurous with my colours. Planned scrappy socks and mittens will have to go on my to do list. Along with helical knitting too!
Im not particularly adventurous with colour, but socks especially lend themselves to be more adventurous. Be careful doing a blanket with colours outside of your comfort zone, my first ever mitred square blanket i made when i was a very new knitter and i did swaps on IG etc for supplies as I didn’t have a stash and literally any colour went in it. Fast forward a few years and i never use that blanket, i just dont like the colours😂
What a beautiful episode Kelly. Beautiful yarn, beautiful stories, beautiful projects. And beautiful you! I knit a pair of helical socks a while ago and I don’t know if it’s because of the helical method but they are one of the most comfy pair of socks I own. They feel a bit more squishy than regular socks. See you at EAYF 💕
Ooh thats interesting about the socks Emma. I might cast on this weekend and have a go. Sending lots of love x
Hugs to you lovely , those pallete packs are gorgeous I’ve developed a bit of a hot water bottle obsession , there are just so ,many colour combos.I’ve made one in a dark grey that I bought from you at the first retreat and added fluorescent minis using the Christmas doodle deck so yes to a winter hot water bottle I’m already planning my next .
Hi jenny, I think lots of us have a mild to moderate addiction 😂 i cast on another one yesterday!
A lovely selection of makes Kelly! 😃 I wonder if you’d considered doubling your blanket yarns and using a 4 or 4.5mm so you get a little more for your 50 minutes? I have a Paula Magnus sheep. Totally adorable. Happy Hurkle Durkling, glad it was such a success, and thank you for your support re the non showing insta hashtags! Hugs, Amo x
Enjoyed your podcast.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely to see you again Kelly. I think your mini skeins are gorgeous and the colours in your hat are beautiful. Take care of yourself. 🥰
Love those stripey mittens and I shall look out for them at Yarndale Nick! Lovely to catch up with you and your glorious yarn and I am particularly liking your beautiful hat. Those packs of yarn are such beautiful colours. Take care xx
Heather, i dare say Nick will have lost one of these mittens by then and will be on a different pair entirely😂 either that or he will have drilled them to the grid wall in error 🤪 fingers crossed yarndale will have us back again, we havent had conformation yet x
@@layfamilyyarn 🤣🥰
So lovely to have your company on a sunny Saturday morning 🌞Your palette packs are so pretty and you choose such perfect projects to let them shine. I am so close to starting a project with your Kaleidoscope yarn - just got to finish weaving in about a thousand ends on a striped sweater first! Have a good week 💛
Hi Michelle, Kaleidoscope is such a cool colourway isnt it. I suggest you ignore the ends completely and do them in the week when you are too knackered for much else!
@@layfamilyyarn Hahahaha Love that idea! New cast on is very very tempting! x
I love watching your podcast and hope that you would make a doodle hot water bottle cover🤞🏻☺️
A doodle hot water bottle cover coming up!……. Well maybe in a week or so😂
The ribbing is my least favourite part of sock knitting. I once knitted a hat in a large man’s size, all in rib. It was a real penance. I love your pallet packs, such a great idea for people like me who struggle to put colours together.
Bonsoir ma douce amie! Just watched you with Bruno on my lap so utter delight and great pickle tickling !Oh my heart is on beating overdrive with all these stunning palette packs and as always whilst watching you, I discover new ideas and practices (that deck of cards and helical knitting for stripy socks, WAOUH!). I got the Wool and Pine mittens pattern too for exactly the same reason (well, whatever you want to call this tiny indulgence 😛) and did you know that there’s also a cardigan and a jumper? Boom, boom, boom! Wishing you all a fab weekend ahead 😻
Lots of love Kelly. See you next time. 😘 Paula x
Thanks for keeping me company Paula. Till next week x
@@layfamilyyarn xx
Lovely to catch up with you and see all your projects.
Will you be bringing the red/pink mini set to the show?
My daughter loves Paula’s bags too, so we’re hoping to take one home 🐻 look forward to seeing you there x
We sure will. We are next door to Paula at the show, im so excited to be next door to one of my good friends…….i suspect I will do much shopping !
Hi Kelly, I am coming to EAYF and will be looking out for you. Christine in NZ - leaving for UK soon xxCxx
Wow Christine that is so exciting. Please do come and say hello, I would love that🥰
How can you possible choose between those palette packs they are all stunning. I love all your knits I so wish I could do colourwork. P.s. I got my haircut finally and you are 100% right I feel so much happier. 😊
Yay Julie, i am so proud of you for facing the hairdresser. I must admit i need a trim but have the lost the confidence again. Julie, dont wish you could do colour work, just do it…. You absolutely can. There is nothing to be intimidated by, will it be perfect forst time round? Probably not but will you learn something, have fun and get better absolutely. Go for it😘 i will be you cheerleader.
So much lovely goodness in your podcast. I want all of those colour packs and to cast on everything. I might never get out of bed and hurkle durkle all weekend ❤️
Sounds like a wonderful plan to me Shirley, if you shove up a bit i will come and sit and knit with you. Z
That sounds fun 💖
Judgemental Colin. I’m howling.
Colin is a horror, he has started swearing now too😂
I’m starting The Sweet Shop blanket. It’s knit and solid cream and the other side a color. You join the square with shot rows.
Is that how you join your blocks together?
Isn’t the sweet shop blanket wonderful? I test knit that one and really enjoy it. No the metered square blankets are constructed differently. You pick up stitches, I will share more on this weeks video or for better info than i can give have a look at @sewsweetviolet she did a lovely video recently on You Tube. X
Yes it’s a great pattern.
I love your stripey blanket. Could you please write the pattern for your design. Thanks in advance.
I’m not sure which blanket you are referring to? Do you mean the ones made of squares?
