As a 2 time stage 4 cancer survivor i think that's a beautiful way to honor your friend. Every time you play it you can feel your friend through music and memories.
I finally got this guitar and its just incredible! Evern a few months later, im a bit scared of it. Opening the case and seeing it still takes my breath away. Its such a beautiful instrument. The slightly wider neck makes fingerstyle and tremolo a dream. I just love it so much

I lost my dad in September this year to cancer as well and I inherited his 2 amazing Taylor guitars. I don’t play every day, but over 90 percent of my play time now is on one of his guitars
from France.....Such a nice humain story , where the guitar links people forever. Of corse this guitar is fantastic, but this is not the principal. Your regreted friend is living with you

Love mine but I fell they sort of over-darkened the soundboard color a bit too much to where you don't get the true beauty of the wood grain to shine through, especially with the satin finish. Just wishing it was less 'bursted' or a brighter shade on top. Mine is even about twice darker than yours.
@@leoolivero963 , heel cracks, due to inserts for the neck bolts. (discovered when the necks are reset) check out, truth guitar for the details. Weak fretwire, (a few years and done) Bad electronics, plastic bridge, bolts for the neck were bottoming out inside the heels, shredding the wood,, no customer service for secondary ownership. Warrantee work not honored if second-hand bought, sorry, did a lot of research and seeing this for myself. I'm not too happy as Taylor won't help me cause I'm not a club member. That's more than 3. Legitimate reason's. Oh and if you have to remove the frets, the slots don't extend to the end of the board where the tang is.

I also own a Fat Lady2 Cole Clark and an Aussie Maton. I must admit that am not 100% sold on the "koa tone" but it's growing on me. The dealer I bought my K24CE from, is the Taylor Service Rep for NSW and yes he did state from the beginning that warranty is void if it's serviced by anyone who is not an accredited Taylor rep. Even post-warranty period, they will not touch it unless it's been serviced by a Taylor Rep exclusively. However, they have confirmed that THEY WILL CONTINUE TO HONOR THE SERVICE and to SUPPORT the guitar if I sell it, as long as it is kept under the sole service of a Taylor Service rep. Either themselves or any other accredited Taylor Rep. I checked out "truth guitar". He appears to be a Taylor specialist (mostly), though he also works on other brands. I did not find any comments relating to the K24CE; perhaps I missed it. Nonetheless, his channel focuses on "finding & documenting issues". There are channels as such for just about every brand, even Martins, Gibsons and Fenders. Sorry, but your points dont appear to be accurately substantiated. BTW, the bridge is West African Crelicam Ebony NOT plastic.

My satin finish has started to wear and create a shine where I strum, I don’t mind it but sort of wish it didn’t do that
