Kiss for me started in 77 when my brother in law put me onto them at the age of 13 and I’m with you guys Kiss in Australia through 79-82 were the biggest band by far and that stretch of 3 albums was great and I for one have always loved the Elder
Band: KISS Album title: The Elderly Nasty Mask Side 1 2000 Man Is That You Save Your Love X-Ray Eyes Easy as it Seems Charisma Side 2 Hard Times Dark Light Mr Blackwell Escape From the Island Tomorrow Torpedo Girl
This was easy to choose for me because I love Dynasty. Unmasked and The Elder are both not my cup of tea. My list: Side 1: Charisma Magic Touch Dark light Dirty living Naked City Hard times Side 2: 2000 man Sure know something X-Ray eyes Two sides of the coin Is that you Save your love For me Ace really nails it on this "Kiss-Album Nr. 4".🤘👍🎸 This again was a very interesting show.👍👍👍 Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts with us...🤘🤘🤘 Keep on rocking and greetings from Germany 🇩🇪🤘👍🎸🍻🌍
I haven't mentally assembled an album yet, but it kills me that I can't use The Oath. I can't use it because that high voice falsetto makes me cringe so much. And that's a damn shame because the instruments and Paul's regular voice are fanfuckingtastic
1. Is That You 2. Hard Times 3. Charisma 4. Only You 5. Darklight 6. You're All That I Want 7. Tomorrow 8. 2,000 Man 9. Sure Know Something 10. Save Your Love 11. Magic Touch 12. Dirty Living This was not so easy. I don't think it's a very good album, actually. It's just ok. These days I feel like I'm in the minority, not liking The Elder at all. The Oath gets on my nerves. It's a great riff, but after that it's just annoying. And I cannot adequately express just how utterly disturbing and confusing this album was after buying it the day of its release. Besides the music, the cover and gatefold made it so unlikeable. I was shocked and really bothered by Paul singing "I'm just a boy.." in a high- pitch voice, like a girl. He was my hero, and now he sounds neutered! How can a man go from "grab onto my rocket" to that?! wtf. I tried n tried to like it but to no avail. VH, Ac/ Dc, Judas Priest, and Rush were on fire, and KISS gives us "I'm just a boy." Unfuckingbelievable. There have a couple times in my life where I absolutely loved it, but ironically, I was on cocaine- good cocaine (like Ezrin) in 97. The other time was when I was in a manic state because I'm a manic- depressive (bi- polar), and these states are like being on good cocaine; but these times made me hear The Elder through a deeply spiritual lens, and I really enjoyed it then. These manic states are few n far between, and I quit coke after a short phase (and bc I ran out of money lol). But at those times, The Elder was like my biography, and I was the hero in my delusional mind fighting the forces of evil, which seemed to be all around. The Elder is nearly a Christian rock album in a sense (in those times). Paul sings about being a "servant" (of the Lord), and in The Oath sings about the "glory" and "power" (of the Lord).. Ace sounds like he's describing satan "dark light), as the Bible says satan masquerades as an angel of light. He even mentions Sodom n Gomorrah. I could go on, but that's how my manic mind was interpreting the album at the time(s). But I'm usually either normal or depressed, and thrrefore can't stand the album. ha Tmi? oh well.. Thanks, if you bothered to read this far. It's kinda self- indulgent, so thank you. I, as usual, enjoyed the episode. It's interesting to hear others' choices on this. Thanks, Rob, Scott, n Darin.. And you can tell Darin that when Dynasty was released in 1979 2,000 Man WAS the opening track. They changed it somewhere along the way. But I had the 8- track tape, and I clearly recall it as the opener. I played it all the time.
yeah, the next album will be badass.. possibly the very best
There is a correction to that, the 4 Tracks off KILLERS with Creatures and Lick It Up.
@@tunesbrothersoh, right. I forgot about Killers

I didn't use the oath either it just didn't fit in my album
Love the Episode guys but Scott’s Internet Reception really Sucks ……
Yeah, he is our Mark from 3 Sides.
I like it better when you guys give a whole side each. This one song at a time thing doesn't make me feel like it's a making of an album.

GREAT POST, thanks for sharing
hey, thanks brother@@tunesbrothers
@@vaekkriinhart4347 I have to agree. Paul's girly sing on some of the elder songs makes the album not so good.
None of you guys picked X-Ray Eyes.
