- The plaintiff says the defendant is her mother, and they were close until her mom began to dislike the plaintiff’s husband. She’s suing her mother for unpaid traffic tickets. The defendant says the plaintiff’s husband is in prison and he’s abusive. She’s countersuing for a collections bill.

She's not too bright. And needs counseling or something like that because the decisions she's making are beyond being anything close to sensible.
I don't think her mom is completely innocent and may have played a huge role in how she turned out but at this point she should know better.
She's going to need her mom again at some point.
They always end up needing their parents again at some point in life.

Jm did something that was unprofessional. I think the daughter lied about being physically abused and that screwed up her credibility but he should have never believed the mom's about paying $75 without proof. She could have lied as well🤷♀️.
I totally agree. Her husband beating her or not, had nothing to do with her Mom owing her. If he was oibg to judge, he should have judged the Mom for being engaged tian already married man! He really treated this young lady unfairly! The Mom knows shelied and wanted to do everything she could not to pay. Her Mom took advantage of her own daughter. I know someone who went to his show as an audience member. The mother may have given proof. They submit documents which are reviewed before the show. Plus they edit the show for tv so they maybe missed showing that part

I hope and pray that this guy isn’t abusing this young woman and she’s staying with him. She has low self esteem and the way her mom treats her isn’t helping her at all to leave out of this situation.

I totally understand the Mom and daughter situation. It's much deeper than what's been presented. The daughter stated in the beginning her Mom has a history of given men money, that's probably why she married the abusive guy in jail. Who knows what she has seen growing. Money don't buy love when you don't teach your children anything about life. Also, Mom said the guy is her first boyfriend (judge ignored). Judge Mathis, you were very biased in this situation. Some parents are horrible raising their kids, especially their daughters!!!!!

There are literally many studies on this topic. People who have dads can also have emotional outbursts (nobody is perfect), you're just "more prone to" if you don't. Get it? 👍

Everlasting psychological effects? I don't think so. Additionally, my son's oldest daughter is studying for the California Bar, and his youngest, just completed her first year of nursing school.

On top of that, she had a restraining order for domestic abuse. She could have gotten housing assistance from an agency. Stop feeling sorry for the way JM spoke to her because she needs to grow up🙄

It doesn't mean you have to respect them. You have to earn it. Some are good, some are narcissists, some are abusers, etc. Unless we lived with the plaintiff, we can't judge or side with the defendant.

This is a sad story. The daughter is mad about the tickets but she even more upset about owing the apartment money. I think Judge was rough on her daughter because she starting degrading her mother and had nothing to back it up. He hurt her feeling but in reality they both wrong. Mom & daughter both rely on each other, so sad to see this bond broken. I will pray for them & that they can forgive each other. After the men are gone, they still mother & daughter.
