  • After 10-12 hours run-in time the mechanism works smoothly, the engine accelerates nicely, it can achieve quite a high speed and is reasonably powerful. The green engine weight is 4 kg, the tractor weight is 4,5 kg.

      Thank you for your comments, the only flame eater that is relatively powerful is here: ua-cam.com/video/63_iv6ugfxg/v-deo.html This is not a typical flame eater, it is a complex structure that is still not too strong. The traditional flame eaters are not capable for real work, but excellent for model making...

    Thanks for sharing these awesome videos, ur models are masterpieces, since u have all of these engines, which is the first one you'd advise a beginner to get? I'm thinking about getting one but never had a model engine

      Hello, thank you for your comment!
      I built my first engine from a Bengs Modellbau kit, whit pre milled parts.(Laura stirling)
      The seller has a well detailed descriptions and step by step instructions with pictures what is very helpful. I would recommend this engine, or something similar for beginning. Of course, you still need a workshop with basic equipments, a lathe as well. If you are not familiar with metric system, you should pick an imperial kit with a well documented building process! Let me know if you need any help.Good luck!

    Hey, I looked up the original bulldog and it looked like a hot bulb diesel. Do you know if there was any practical real-world application for vacuum flamelickers or are they just not powerful enough? Also, what is the power comparison between a flamlicker vs. a stirling engine of similar size? (If you have time to answer). Wonderful machines.

    I have a flame engine and am building a massive one, out of a old air compressor. 😶😶 do you use oil to lubricate? I use a super light oil. 🙂 it has a viscosity that is thinner than transmission fluids. Everyone here in the usa says "dry lube graphite" nope. Oil has always worked well for me (and my engine has lived with quite a lottt of run time)

      Thank you for your comment! I do not use oil on my flame eaters, I made graphite pistons for them. It works well for me, I can recommend it to you too!

    PL. DESCRIBE HO ENGINE WORKS?

    • @69MrSjani
      @69MrSjani  3 роки тому

      - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -
      A vacuum engine (also called flame-licker engine, flame-engine, flame-dancer) derives its force from air pressure against one side of the piston, which has a partial vacuum on the other side of it. At the beginning of an outstroke, a valve in the head of the cylinder opens and admits a charge of burning gas and air, which is trapped by the closing of the valve and expands. Towards the end of the stroke the charge comes into contact with a water- or air-cooled part of the cylinder and is chilled, causing a sudden drop in pressure sufficient to suck the piston - which is open towards the crank - back on the return stroke. The valve opens again in time for the piston to expel the burnt gases before the next outstroke begins.

      This tractor is driven by a flame eater engine. It can not produce enough electricity for lightbulbs.

      I do have a tight deadline at work, but in a few days I will send you a couple of pictures about the twin flame licker. Could you send me your email address? The Minnie traction engine is not sold, but that is a very sophisticated and expensive model... it’s boiler was made and tested in United Kingdom.
