I see you are racing Tulsa Tough. Make sure you get a good spot when lining up in the coral. And attack on the hill on day one and two if you want to be able to compete for the podium.
Congratulations EJ ! Phenomenal progression and result. I love how you balance your journey, your relationship with your coach, your fiancee, and documenting your trials and tribulations climbing the ranks of elite domestic US bike racing. I think people think you have it easy because of your natural talent. I disagree. Most riders gain experience and lessons from grinding it out at cat 4 and cat3 before moving to cat 2 and cat 1. You were forced to move up very quickly (1 year) and have had to adapt to a very, very, steep learning curve. And you are doing fantastic. A lot of riders can learn from your content which makes your content very valuable. And fun, I might add! Keep the good vibes going!

Seems like the courses/events were all suited well to your build and strengths on the bike, a good starting event for you as a 1. Part of success is choosing your events wisely, ones that play to your strengths (assuming you're not just going to play a role for a teammate) 👍

Tail gunning on that (technical) crit is dangerous because the field can split...and then your have an uphill battle to try to bridge to the 1st half of the peleton. This happens all the time on the lower cat levels at least. However, that gamble looks like it payed off well for you. Thanks for the videos and coming out east to race with us. Congrats on doing well! Keep the videos coming!

The slipping seat post is a known problem with these bikes. Mine has done it a few times. Heaps of carbon paste and regular check of the clamp torque.
For sure! Also they sent it to me with a backup clamp. Put that on and it’s money!
