This show is great I’d love for you guys to react to the whole show. Just heads up the main character is the “bad guy” who sometimes does bad things, which is probably why some people dislike it. I would definitely not recommend someone watch it as their “first anime,” since the whole point is to subvert your expectations by doing the opposite of your basic “hero Isekai.”
Or to put it simply, most Isekais are about a hero being send to another world to defeat the demon king. Overlord on the other hand is essentially the origin story of a demon king.

This anime is special and different because its not your typical anime that you watch where the protagonist is a hero. But in this anime you will see the perspective of a villain but not really a villain I think. Thats why this anime has a huge community and its really popular too which many people really love. You will know that guys if you watch this anime, for me its one of those animes that what I love to call legendary😊
The end songs are just as dark and cool I would love for an overload reaction, but i understand if your schedule is too busy I have not seen season 4 yet

My favourite anime series of all time and one of The Best isekai stories as well. I would totally recommend you guys to watch it. And although there are some very dark and horrible things happening in the world, the anime itself doesn't go into much detail about it, unlike how the light novel does.
Overlord is my favourite show, and I loved how you two analysed the openings. You noticed some of the things that make the show great just from watching the intro. It is a unique Isekai anime with an actual good storyline. Although the anime skips some part from the Light Novel, its still easy to follow. And Overlord music never disappoint, both the OP and ED.

One could describe Overlord as anime Game of Thrones, specifically during time of Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros. Just replace dragons with (actual) magic and legions of the undead, demons, monsters, and the occasional Eldritch Lovecraftian horrors as the keys of their success in this particular instance.
Overlord is always def worth checking out just cause it is an early isekai story that has a very unique style and structure even though many stories now follow the overpowered premise.
Overlord is a fantastic show and y'all really ought to watch it. It is definitely a bit different from other Isekai shows, but after so many copycats of the standard route, it's very refreshing to see this side. Just let go of your ideas of what a "bad guy" or "good guy" is. Partly because the show isn't based on D&D and thus doesn't actually have alignments (which most players misunderstand completely anyway), but mostly because the protagonist is the "good guy" of the story, even if their a villain to the other characters. After all, you think Lex Luthor's memoir paint Lex as the villain? Of course not, that's Supes' role in Lex's story.
its isekai, its the day the VR mmo gets shut down, it was a type of game where guilds could make their own base and take over some dungeons and raid guild bases and create NPC's that guard them and guild/players were last line of defense, but none got trough even MC'S guild NPC'S (theirs are different type of humanoid monsters and demons), so its time the game to shut down MC char is a elder lich race and he falls a sleep and wakes up and then (leaving some details out) discovers that he and hes hole guild base has been transported to a different world and hes NPC have become real beings no longer programs, that's how it starts
usually in my experience, i know im about about to watch a good anime if the "weird" characters in the opening seems normal and the normal seems unique lol

Yeah OP 3 is definitely the best. I didn't learn the lyrics until well after watching the show, but it really ties in with the themes from that season (vague to avoid spoilers). Just a small sample: "sit down at this banquet, everyone and everything is fuel for the fire. Can't stop can't stop eating can't stop can't stop--not enough!" But mire importantly it's just *such a good song*. I definitely listened to it on repeat for a long while, Myth and Roid's closing song was also one of my favorites. So unfortunate they don't have a substantial album!

Please react to whole overlord series....its more than worth it. It's a dark fantasy isekai which is uncommon and has a unique plot. But it's hard to understand in one go...I didn't like it much that much except the 3rd season which completely blew my mind and I decided to re-watch it before jumping to season 4...and OMG it made so much more sense than before and completely captivated me and compelled me look up the minor details on UA-cam about the things unexplained in anime and it started making even more sense ..at this point I became so obsessed with the characters and plot that I decided to read it's novel ....the experience was like watching harry potter movies then reading it's books...it's literally soo much detailed it loved it. Yeah😅, this story is like that the more you watch it the more you understand it the more you like it. Currently, it's my favourite Anime of all time.

Yes you should watch Overlord season 1-4 + the Movie but just so you know it has it dark parts and funny parts
