Now I understand why the challenges didn't help me find my style. I was too focused on finding the subject and the material! Perhaps only Inktober answers this question. But I like colorful illustrations more. Thanks for your advice!

So many good tips! I make a pinterest mood board/ inspiration board on whatever theme I'm doing every time I sit down to create. I love it, such a good tool! I found just the consistency of doing challenges each week helped me up my drawing skills so much. I think I'm still working on my style though because I'm trying to get a bit more consistent when I hand paint vs create something digitally. I like having the option of both just for time saving purposes mostly but I'm still trying to figure it out and marry the two up. So much to think about and keep in mind, thanks Lauren! 😊

Thank you, Katie!! Yes, you make such a good point about marrying traditional mediums and a digital one. I definitely agree .. it’s such a good goal for style consistency. I aim to make my digital work look more like my hand painted work, but I haven’t perfected it yet either. I have some gouache brushes in Procreate that I like but if I pick up my stylus and paint over an area the opacity & texture gets a little weird. I’m sure it’s difficult with watercolor, too. Thanks for watching!! 🤗🤗🥰

Yeah, I feel like drawing all the time is great when you're first starting but after you get to a certain point it's not going to help you develop your own voice/style. Thank you for sharing, I feel like no one ever acknowledges this.

Exactly! Of course, learning the fundamentals has its place & you have to practice, but once you know *how* to draw… drawing MORE doesn’t solve the problem of finding an art style. It’s more about focusing on specific elements, making decisions, and then staying consistent. Thanks for watching the video! I’m going Live tomorrow to talk about Art Styles with 3 other artists if you’d like to watch!

Is it possible for an artist to have multiple art styles. Since designing is a very broad field, so having just one style won't be enough? I don't know. Please put some light on it.
    Thanks.

I think it’s okay to have the skill of doing multiple styles behind the scenes or for working as an in-house designer, but it’s better to market yourself for freelance or licensing and be known for one key style. When you try to do everything, it’s confusing for the customer. If the customer sees your work and can recognize it as YOURS that’s when you become known.
