I’m scheduled to ship out March 25th, 2021. I’m excited but nervous at the same time. The run is the only event that I’m nervous about. Prior to enlisting, I tried to go the OCS route. But, they only have so many spots at a time & even less for a Reservist. I didn’t want to age out so I enlisted. My rate is RP and I’m going Navy Reserves.
Rp are badass you’re most likely going to be on a ship and you’re going to be connected to a chaplain so where were he goes you go you’re basically going to be his body guard and about the workouts I’m going to make a video about that soon about the stuff you need to know and other things that can help you if you want be on the lookout for that
@@Dominicanjitt Thank you for the info. I definitely will look out for new video. I did a lot of research and saw that RP was the best fitting rate for me. My next choice would’ve been EO (or another Seabee Rate). I’m trying to get my run time down. I’m at almost 18 minutes. I need to be at 16 mins, 10 secs a few days prior to 03/25/21. I’m running twice a day.
@@ron89999 I’m at the MEPS hotel right now. Thank you for wishing me luck. Best of luck to you as well. If you see someone with the last name Cave, that will more than likely be me. I’ll be the “old man” of the group.
You get drug tested before while joint at meps they test you and then again when you get there during your p days (which is basically you doing all the medical stuff during the first 5 days)
To be honest its all up to the RDCs and how the division behaves and yes is only two weeks but if you get caught in the ring of fire that can be extended a week or two.
If you're asking about joining any military branch no i don't think covid effected that but it might take longer than usual because of all the procedures and shit they have to follow before you start
@@Dominicanjitt Ok thanks your video inspired me to become a navy seal and pursue a career all I gotta do is take off my tattoos and I can start I can’t wait
Usually the first week you get to bootcamp the RDCs are going to assign a mail po after that you'll be able to send letters but ultimately its up to the RDCs
Does anyone know how long bootcamp is with quarantine I heard it was shortened to 6weeks with quarantine and then extended to 8 with quarantine and then recently shortened again to 6weeks by my mentor in DEP
To be honest the workouts are not hard at all. they don't just throw you in a bunch of workouts and expect you to do good they'll give you time to improve and the same thing with the run I start at 12:30 and my time dropped to 10:05.
do you (or did you) go to A school in GL? my husband graduates today and goes to A school but Idk when he gets his phone back ,when did you get yours back?🥲
Heyyy if he graduates today most likely he'll get it the day he's leaving the base like 30 mins before he gets on the bus and he can't use it until he leaves the base unless he's put in thu which basically means he has to stay there a little longer until he gets his orders
Wsup bro? What was the process of you being able to get a chit for shaving? My bootcamp ship date is 3.23.2021. I know I'll need one due to having sensitive skin.
Once you get to bootcamp you'll be able to get one you can talk to medical about it and they'll give you one but it does not last long but you can just keep getting more and more
What’s good bro? I’m 27 and my original shipping date is May 5th as a YN, although I was told there’s a chance I could leave in April. Any who, any tips for older recruits like myself lol? Going in as an E1, and aiming to leave boot camp as an E3. You know anything about YN? I hear the job is cake af, depending on your command.
To be honest is going to be hard going from E1 to E3 in bootcamp but is not impossible. If you have your contract read it and if it says something about passing the PFA bonus. You can get rank up like that but you also need to pass the debt test which is about everything you learn in the first two weeks. Another way to get ranked up is becoming a leader in bootcamp they are going to assign jobs and if you do good enough or they see you actually trying you can ranked up again. YN is easy you are most likely going to be in a office most of the time chilling and im not too sure but the yns that i know tell me that yn A school is easy too.
And about your age bro you are going to need a lot of patience the majority of the people that join are 18-24 or just young I am 22 and I felt like I was in high school again just stay focus and remember why you are there.
Do they shave your head and do all medical stuff in quarantine or when you get to actual boot camp? And do they make you shave your mustache and beard when you first get there
No you won't do anything in quarantine. You have to wait until you get too bootcamp for all the medical stuff and yes you have to shave everything off idk why but you do.
I was in a 6 week push but I got sent back because of the people around me getting COVID and shit they literally switched it back to 8 weeks the last day I was getting there
Ohh okay, I leave March 22nd to ship out and my Recuriter was telling me they changed it back to 8 weeks total and the 10 weeks was like a trial run but I’ve heard so many different things. Hopefully it does go by quick though
Hey 💓. I’ve been running everyday because I’m just trying to go in with a decent type of endurance but is the run bad? And what about the swim? Well they help you out?
The run is a mile and a half. You have to do it within a certain time depending on your age. You can jog it the whole time and pass. The swim is a little weird because you have to do specific strokes to pass but tbh that was one of the funnest part of bootcamp and if you fail any of those they'll help you as long as they see you trying hard they wont give up on you.
If you plan on joining during the covid thing you're going to have a lotttttttt of time before you actually do anything. Its only a two week period but bruh that shit felt like it was 3 months. They going to give you a book when you first get there and you'll be able to learn everything before you even get to your ship is all easy tho. I didn't know anything until I got there I promise is all simple stuff if you just study if I were you work on your run and a lot of push ups.
