Fabulous! The travelogue is a winning video format for me. Cactus fruit looked a bit perilous, fresh figs looked heavenly, fig rolls are nasty in comparison. The cave at Matera was something else. I have memories of Naples myself, and chaotic is the word for them. Looking forward to the next episode.
I took a Grimaldi ferry from Napoli to Sardinia this spring. There were tent signs all over with red cross lines on them and they said no camping. I only had the option of paying for a room.
Really appreciating the work going into the videos. Enjoy Sardinia, we cycled from south to North mainly up the west and middle avoiding the touristy East hot spots. Great cycling scenery and locals. Try the orangecello!
I used to tie a fork to broomsick at my Grans house (In Greece) to pick the prickly pears from cactus then a long sharp knife to remove the spikes and skin to get to the amazing fruit. It's a risky business with an amazing reward if the pear is ripe!
amazing adventure, and I bet those crazy, difficult but beautiful off road detours will be the parts you remember in 30 years time - not the easy smooth roads!
Can confirm similar on Montenegro to Bari ferry. All the good places were taken, so the staff kinldy found us a quiet place behind some benches at the back of a salon to lay down our sleeping bags. Edit: Dont get your bike nicked in Naples, that place is wild!
Awesome video! What sport mode do you have Komoot set to? I've noticed that 'Cycle Touring' takes you on all sorts of gravel, but I always plan routes in 'Road Cycling' mode and very rarely have an issue.
Don;t like what they're doin to those squids Josh. Much better to eat free cactus. The cavemen of yore would have said that's a good place to build a palace.
Have you tried cycle.travel Josh? I did my own cycle through Italy this year and found it really good for planning my routes. The ferries I got from mainland to Sicily and Sicily to Sardinia were the same, everyone rushing to claim the best spots to lay down. Ferry from Sardinia to Barcelona was much better if you're planning to go that route. Loads of space / seats / benches to get a proper spot to lay down.
One of your best yet man, keep it up
Thanks
Simply stunning video! 🙌🏼🚴♂️
Beautifully filmed Josh. A joy to watch.

Love it Josh! Great video and how stunning is Matera 😳👏
Excellent work Josh! Thank you!
Stunning footage!! Thanks for taking the time to share your amazing experiences with us. #everyrideisepic
The views from those caves over to the old town was spectacular. Beautiful drone shots also, really enjoying your videos of travels 👍👍

dont normally leave comments but good work with both the cycling and managing to make a quality film about it along the way. Good luck on your journey
I have had the same experience with Komoot short cuts, think I’ve learnt from that as my mates won’t let me navigate now. 😅

I really liked the style of this video. One day I hope to travel to Sardinia

7:10 on… those shots are outrageously pretty

been on many ferries, never witnessed that beahviour.
Wow to Matera ❤️
Long live scrumping!
From Italy 👏👏
Great videos, Josh! How do you cut them on the way? Every time i see them, i have a feeling: jumping on my bike and take a long ride ;)
I’m editing and shooting them on my iPhone
@@Josh-Reid wow, cool :) I saw you have problems with Komoot. I use Strava instead. For cycling I think it is better.
Slappin that Octopus like it aint nobodies business

I always set it to road. It only takes me on the gravel sections every 100km or so. It’s not very often just come out of the blue
Karl Pilkington inspirational quote took me by suprise!
Wowoooo 🥰
These vids are off the chart. Wtf...

Loving these videos! I messaged you on insta asking for some gear advice and whatnot. Please help, a totally noob.

I haven’t tried cycle travel. Yeah the ferry from Napoli to Sardinia was much better. Same company to Barcelona so I expect the same
