This is a very simple & cheap, yet ingenious that allows for a recessed pedal tray for your trolling motor which is vastly important in terms of improving someone's quality of fishing! This mod is in the Alumacraft Playlist. Wait for more boat building content to come through the Tiny Boat Nation as this Alumacraft nears completion as the best V-hull mod that I've done to this date!

We gotta start 3d printing stuff like this now that its come so far
*This makes my old motor look like a toy **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's well built. I haven't had it on the water yet, but I'm very sure it will perform just fine.*
Thanks for your video. I just find it hard to purchase one anywhere from $50-$100 plus. Not to mention for a piece of plastic. I just might start this weekend. Great video.
That was absolutely genius. I love how people can figure out things like this. I love that you put it on the internet to share with everyone. Don't forget you also need to put a drain hose in the bottom of the pan. Look forward to your next video.
Slick trick for the foot pedal. Something to do on my build. Thanks Mike.
Awesome!!! Can someone tell me how deep the pan has to be to have to pedal flush with the deck?? Pls and thank you….
That pan would be good for a shallow stow too
This will be perfect for my shallow stow between my live well and chiller
I guess I am "that guy" that is OCD'd enough to notice that your carpet for the trolling motor pedal tray is running in the wrong direction per your other deck carpeting.
This is a GREAT idea though, and saves a LOT of cash!
Thanks for sharing.
u could mount your switch pannels in em to
Thanks for the awesome idea, I tweaked a little bit but worked perfectly!!!
I'm doing this very mod right now. Just wanted to check back for a reference. The Wilton tray, like the one being used is 2 1/2" deep. Search on Amazon for a 9" X 13" X 4" deep cake pan. It was a little over $25.00, that's what I'm using. Still not 100% level with the flooring, but it's better. Either way, you can't go wrong. I still have the 2.5" Wilton pan in case I don't like the 4" pan.
Link it to me here, please!?
@@TinyBoatNation I'm 62 and to be honest, I don't know how to link anything. If you'll do an Amazon search for "Fat Daddio'" 9" X 13" X 4" cake pan, part # POB-9134 you'll find it. I would love show off my work, just don't know how? I installed some Sea Deck type flooring today!
Great video! I used a recessed dryer vent pan worked great. Used self etching primer
Paint then painted it black worked great
can you tell me where you got yours?
I like the background music
Lowes has an aluminum dryer vent box 12"W x 21" L x 4.25" deep for $34
What size pan is it again?
do you ever make it out to any Phoenix lakes?
Crazy question. How do you keep the rain water out of the pan? I can drill little drain holes but then your storage gets wet. You guy have any hacks for this?
What kind of paint is that gray paint is it waterproof or something?
Great video. I cant see myself paying that kind of money for a metal tub. Glad you also mentioned the "Metal Recessed Dryer Vent Box", looks really interesting, and cheap. I have 2 boats Im going to install a tray on this spring, and buying the High dollar version just is not acceptable. Another option Im looking at are Stem table trays. There stainless very strong and come in serveral different sizes and depths.
Good job brother
Thank you! Was thinking about making one out of fiberglass, and glassing it into deck.
Could use this as a mold
Towards the end of the video, is the trolling motor mounted ? Or just placed there temporarily for purposes of getting the foot pedal close?
Mike try using the c channel self adhesive window and door trim. It’s black and I will give you a very nice finish Vs the gas hose
Great mod, that's what I like about this channel. A hillbilly jerry rig set up (I mean that in the best possible way) but looks good and the price is right . I am getting great ideas from your channel. I am trying to come up with plans to mod out my boat, multi species as I also fish salmon and crab/bottom fish in the salt. And its an odd boat. Its an old Harborcraft SK 14 foot but with a 78 inch beam. Its a square with a point. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see where you take the channel.
Love the music
Simply brilliant. Thank you for the idea.
Nice ODSVBVL product placement...
Genius idea at no cost... Do u plan on drilling a hole in pan to make a drain plug?
Love the video man.
Hi !!!! Amazing, nice video son, have a wonderful day...thanks for all !!! God Bless you and all your family too...
Nice mike great idea bro
Can you do a speed test once this boat is finished? My boat is similar size and I would like to know if a 15hp is enough
Well this might have saved me about $60, awesome
Can you do a video about mounting a trolling motor mount on a tiny boat bow?
Do what you got to do brother!
The pan is steel?
You could find aluminum or stainless if that concerns you.
Hahaha. So innovative. I love this.
Nice
I am building my own tiny boat bass boat 14 ft sea nymph with a 9.8 hp merc motor. How can I get two of your vinyl graphics for the side of my haul. TBNATION rocks! Thx for all the video info
1" drop nice
Nice way to rep Louisiana
Wow cake pan……cool🤙🏾🤙🏾💯
Any link or numbers on that dryer vent in the video?
Sink drains? I'm talking about toward the beginning of the video where you're talking about using the cake pan and then you said someone used a dryer vent, but that would be too deep for your project.....
I guess I missed it, what are the dimensions of this pan?
What did you paint the plywood with before you glued the rug on it?
Does it drain?
Have you put any more thought into the 4' x 8' x 1/2" PVC sheeting for decking or other parts of a build?
@@TinyBoatNation what is your reason for this? ( not sturdy enough, carpet/vinyl/gatorskins donesnt adhere to it, or just not your thing?
Just wondering because after this fishing season is over I'm planning on building my 14' gamefisher flat bottom and was considering using the PVC for decking and the transom for the fact it will never rot and is very durable
How has this held up long term? May be my first mod on the new boat since I already have the front deck apart.
Freaking cool bro🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Your free hand placement around that circular kinda had me scared a couple times. Be careful bro.
Yeah me too... Got a scar on my wrist to prove it😁
Nice!
when the budget allows get a router and make it so it drops in from the top.
1st I wish I could start a UA-cam channel but I follow you instead. So a problem with cutting a hole in my ProCraft floor is I'm not sure I'd like it, and it seems like it would be better with a angle up and have it floor mounted rather than flush in floor but yeah, you'd trip on it. But I hate the idea of putting a hole in my deck. But cake pan is good idea for cheaper use.
I have a new name for your boat Way a lot
genius lol
I suggest you get a 3d printer. I have a few ideas for you. Parts you can make and sell. Hit me up.
