With good design foundation we could apply green house advance green house agriculture teleporting food and supply , remote sensing using MAD, and counter seimic wave resonance prevent earthquake and also survive flooding
Nice video sir. Please what software do you use? As I am also making videos about Civil Engineering. I will.try to implement this method of teaching. Please what software?
Here we are providing 50d lap length in tension zone and 40d in compression zone on my project. I want to know about tensile and compression zone specially in raft please.
Do the piles below have to be in alignment with the columns ? Or can they be placed with equal spacing even if it doesn't align with the column placement ?
Hi Ajaz, drop below the columns resist the punching shear in the raft. Due to increased thickness locally, column will not punch inside raft. Additionally, drop increases positive moment capacity of the raft locally, whic means raft can take higher moments below the column. Hope this helps. :)
No, it depends on various factors like concrete strength used, column/wall load, soil properties, water uplift, reinforcement provided, punching shear, etc. In short, analysis is required to find depth of raft.
Where would you consider a raft foundation with shallow (3'ft) column footings? I have some loamy acreage that does not experience frost EVER but some pretty good down pours periodically.
Hi Ali, in the video columns are of concrete and some part of reinforcement is left for lapping upper construction of columns. If the columns were of steel, there is no reinforcement and just a pedestal will be required at base.
@@StructuresExplained you mean if upper colum is type of steel I beam type or not concrete type then we dont need lapping bars and we only need below concrete column for pedestal.?????

hi
which software do you use?
I'm currently working as an intern on construction site, this really helped me understand the raft foundation which is used on the site, many thanks!
Saw so many videos.
But you explained it in the easiest way
Thank you
Excellent Presentation! Clarity, and Great Graphics! Sincere thanks!
Very well explained thank you so much
This is great! Thank you very much.
Happy to see this video 🏗️🏗️🏗️🏗️🏗️🏗️🏘️
Way of explanation and visual is super sir
Thank you Ganesh!

Very clear explanation. Thanks!
wlcm
Thank you @Structures Explained for the video, would you mind letting me know what software you used for the Animation? it's really cool
Thank you for you video! It's really helpful, keep on doing it:)

very good vids,,shabash👌
Nice ,I love it..
But please can you do a clearer animated video ,of the placement of additional second layer of reinforcement ,in a raft foundation
Thank you..
Thanks !
Well explained. Thanks
very nice
Good one🎉
Excellent 👍
Very good film. I have a question how do you design a mat foundation on the pile ? How does it work this kind of slab ?
Decent video. I just hoped it would touch on the reinforcing of the beams
Hello Tshepo, you can find beam reinforcement explanation in this video ua-cam.com/video/YNJQvkYc60E/v-deo.html

Kdkk
Best sir . Plz tell me about drop or step in raft.

Keep it up...
Nice
Is there any thumb rule to decide whether what depth to consider for raft?
No, it depends on various factors like concrete strength used, column/wall load, soil properties, water uplift, reinforcement provided, punching shear, etc. In short, analysis is required to find depth of raft.

This foundation mainly what kind of soil we can use.. I mean indication in what type of area or land
Site with poor soil conditions.
Engineer also told pillar foundation, soil codition moderate.. Which is more stronger and durable
noice
4:00 if the above columns are of steel the lap reinforcement is not needed ???what you mean by that????
Hi Ali, in the video columns are of concrete and some part of reinforcement is left for lapping upper construction of columns. If the columns were of steel, there is no reinforcement and just a pedestal will be required at base.
@@StructuresExplained you mean if upper colum is type of steel I beam type or not concrete type then we dont need lapping bars and we only need below concrete column for pedestal.?????
That is correct
0:59 column load are unequaly distributed what does that mean..??
Hi, that means some columns are loaded heavily than others
You mention of shear reinforcement around column is nothing but beam connecting all the other column or something else.. someone explain
Hi Mohamed, the shear links or studs mentioned in the video are not of beam. For this video, column is directly resting on raft.
@@StructuresExplained in shallow foundations we give plinth beams incase of raft there is no such beam connecting other columna all together ?
Depends on design, if required raft can also have beams connecting column to column.
w8 a min where's the plastic hook
Only required when we do plastic analysis of design..

you should had someone with good english fluency helped you with audio
