I agree with you future policies may be good. But the Govt must honor what was promised and should not just changed policies with out consideration and not carefully thought through. Failing those who come here with promises will feel cheated and now being conned by the Govt.
On the English requirements those who meets the requirement must be given full maximum points. Because there is no study to confirm that getting better English scores means more skilled than their skilled assessment.

I think it is a good thing that they increased the minimum requirements for english test.
There are a lot of migrants here can't speak english properly.
It doesn't matter how good they are when it comes to their skill sets but the thing is, some of them are struggling to explain their thoughts, specially professors.
Communication skills is very important for our everyday lives.

No one promises anything no one promised any future student they will get the extension. People are already getting the extra extension now so no promise was broken. Policy is changed all the time

@@Mustang85635 I am sorry you are either short in memory or just ignorant. On Friday, 02 September 2022, the Government has announced changes to the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) for Higher Education students, which will result in an additional extension of stay for graduates by 2 years to 4 years. Many international students who paid tens of thousands of $ in fees, come here base on this promise. And you tell them policy has changed?

@@thetruthinquirer You don’t understand that this is how the ever changing nature of aus immigration has always operated. There are no promises and changes happen year on year. No one promised or guaranteed anything. And thousands of students have applied for and received these extended visas as we speak so

even SUPRA has an open letter to granfather the law from the current students.. the age limit is really deressing since i will be 35 and graduate next year . TT

Please make a video that new age limit and visa changes should not be applied to previously enrolled students. Its not fair because they should be treated according to the previous rules when they had applied. When UK removed PSW, they didn't applied it to the students who were already enrolled.

Thanks for raising the concerns of mature students. It is really beyond comprehension why the govt is thinking to reduce age limit for Graduate visa and that too for existing enrolled students. We feel cheated by the Australian govt. If u have to revise the policy, make it applicable to new students who can make an informed decision based on new changes policy. Nonetheless, Australia will lose a lot by implementing the changes in terms of revenue, skills, cultural diversity, and dent to their image in international education sector.

I am 35 years old and have been accepted to study PhD. Economics in Australia, starting in January 2024. My visa application was lodged on 11 December. What does the change mean for my prospects of visa grant?

The information doesn't explicitly state whether the age limit change applies retroactively to already enrolled students or only to future admissions...

There will be so many dropouts from masters as well as phd streams by this rule, if they r going to implement this for current existing students as well.

Please raise voice for 476 processing time. It's so disappointing to see 46 months for a 18 month visa, which only takes on an average 5 min to process each visa file.

I have applied for 485 visa. I took 6 months tb treatment. Right now I don't have active tb, but they have still kept me on xray under surveillance. So medical officer required clearance report? Or what will happen with my visa?

5 years pgwv should be applicable to everyone who have their student visa granted for feb intake as well in my opinion . Thé list was published in june and seeing that a lot of students would have made the decision and paid a good amount of fees as well .

Do you work as agent? if so, i'm inclined to make my PR application with you, but i have a particular situation now. I'm on a 482 medium term, for 1,5 year, will complete 2 years in july, but i'm receiving a job offer from other company to sponsor me with better salary and a better position, and i would like to know if i'd be able to apply for a direct entry stream now, or should i wait for the 482 transition.
