We've still got to catch up on Burnley, and Luton. Plus Bournemouth have trips left to Villa, Wolves, Arsenal & Chelsea - who do you think will end up top? Subscribe and we'll ping you notification of our next video.
Top of the league! 😁Howay, give us a trophy lads! 🖤🤍
I don’t know how many times you have been there but when we, B’mth went there in 91/92 for a cup game the crowd was 14,000 on a Monday night and we won, obviously the cookie 92nd minute winner has to be the most enjoyable since we won there in the cup that night.
Good review of us. However, the only qualm I have is walk to the stadium only being an 8. It's one of only 2 clubs in Europe that are in the City Centre, and you can LITERALLY get a metro to drop you off underneath the stadium, and buses can drop you off outside. Liverpool, another team that scored 8 is about 4-5 miles outside the city, and you have to walk through council estates instead of amazing architecture (and 108 pubs) in Newcastle city centre
Aye. It's a quick walk, but not pretty if we're honest.
@@two2goats depends where you are walking from
Yes the mackems do have a designated pub for Derbies at St James Park...its in Sunderland !
🤣👍
😂😂
😂😂😂😂
That’s the toilets
Dudes... there are 108 pubs within half a mile of St James Park. That's one hell of a weekender
I don't think any pubs in Newcastle would refuse away fans unless they were makems 😂😂
8 for pubs seems low all things considered
I know I thought a 10 would be nailed on for pubs. Im very underwhelmed with an 8.
Walk up to the ground too - not many places you can leave a city centre pub (with a choice of over 100 and being welcome in any of them) and have a 5-10 min walk up
The old George pub. Oldest pub in Newcastle, 1582. 5minutes from the stadium. 😊
Love it! I'm a toon fan from the states! HWTL!
Great content lads, glad you enjoyed your visit to Newcastle. There's something like 250 bars in the city centre, you can get a different experience every time you visit and you would be welcome in all of them. We are awaiting a report on the ground this month which will determine what can be done to expand St James' or what the options are for a new ground, so bear with us for improvements. Good luck for the rest of the season 🖤🤍
great content, a little poor the atmosphere that day i agree but one day we,ll get an 8 for that aswell as ten would be the PSG at home level again which was 🤯
Last twice they’ve come in the league we’ve been shit and then last year was the Queen’s death too with no Blaydon Races and Wor Flags.
The only decent ones were before lockdown when we scraped past them and the cup game which was a Tuesday night.
Nowt better than SJP on one of those PSG nights
Love this lads.
Come up on the Friday and stay in Whitley Bay and have a walk on our fabulous coastline as well a good selection of restaurants
Whitley Bay? Don’t you want them to return? 😂
As a Newcastle fan the main problem with the atmosphere is that our main singing corner is in the opposite end to the away fans and neither sets of fans can hear each other most of the time. Used to be way better before Ashley made level 7 a family area. Whole Gallowgate needs to be safe standing or get rid of the family area
Spot on was just about to comment this. Our best atmosphere comes from across the ground where you can’t hear away fans, they can’t hear us
Hi lads, I’m really pleased you enjoyed the weekend and personally I think you were very fair on the marking system you have 👍
As for things to do over a weekend it really depends on who your with (children, couples or just the lads ) depending on your taste, but let’s say it’s couples or a family a visit to Whitley Bay or Tynemouth might be a nice day out depending on the weather as it’s right on the North east coast line but there are some lovely bars serving beautiful food ( fish&Chips is excellent and absolutely massive portions) so be careful what you order😉 Whitley Bay has arcades if you have children with you keeps them entertained or if it’s just a couple you can walk miles along the seafront with plenty of bars on route.
If you really wanted to travel just over an hours drive you can head along the A1 and head into seahouses & (Bambrough which has a castle you can visit) many films have been made around that area including Harry Potter, seahouses is a fishing village and is very popular with people from the north east especially bank holidays.
Anyway just a few ideas and if your with the lads so many bars and restaurants plus night clubs if you fancy just having a wild night out😉🤣
Take care lads see you all next season and I’m really impressed with Bournemouth this season and the owner is doing everything he said after seeing him on skysports this weekend. 👍
Good luck for the rest of the season and let’s see you finish in the top 10 it’s very achievable this season. 👍
Old George - 5 minutes walk, Three Bulls Heads - maybe 3 or 4, Rosie’s Bar…..literally 2 minutes from the ground
Fair assessment fellas! 😂
Great review, lads. Really honest and as a season ticket holder for over 25 years I would agree with you. As for the noise level like most grounds it's down to who and how we are playing. 👍
Newcastle do not and never have played fan noises through speaks we are not Liverpool or man city
We have a vibrant city, beautiful coastline & stunning countryside all within a few miles. And very friendly Geordies. *HOWAY THE TOON!* 🖤🤍
Yet the southern press never stop sneering and attacking Newcastle
The roar you said was playing through the speakers.its tiny bit of the Blaydon races track at the start 😊✌️
as far as I know anyway that's the only "roar" as you put it that comes through the speakers.
Good show lads ✌️
Yyyeeeeesssss boys well done . Great vid 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍
Give us the trophy now lads 🤣😂👍🏼
First piece of silverware for many a year 😂
Great review on the Toon glad you guys enjoyed your visit & match day experience there's no friendlier place in the UK Geordies always have time for visitors unless you're from Sunderland 😂 Hope you're next visit improves our score 👍
Really pleased you enjoyed your trip to Newcastle, particularly that you find us friendly. If you have time you could check out the spectacular Northumberland coastline, especially bamburgh castle an hour or so north. Some good pubs around the station, the forth and town wall. Away fans often congregate at oniells opposite the station
You can pay £20 and get a magpie mover for the season for all public transport with in Tyne and wear for 3hrs before and after match
go to the Percy arms next lads, just across the road from bus station it’s cheaper and the goose too it’s a stone house pub that’s cheap too.
Well done lads.
Love seeing away fans enjoy their trip up to us and as you said you’re welcome or or less anywhere for a pint. Forth, Tilleys and Bodega is a nice little run on the way up to ground from the train station for next season. If you’re staying over…Metro out to Tynemouth you’ll feel like you’re at home albeit the sea is a little greyer.
Top enjoyable content...
Nufc fan and you were mugged by a red wearing 13th man man u ref..shocking
Twice
Best pubs, best atmosphere in the ground, only problem is you're in the heavens and oh those steps 😮😮😮
I love the view. 10/10 for me. I even feel I've got a good view of the far end.
The town wall opposite the train station is one of my favourite pre match drinking pubs, trendy place with a massive selection of beers and craft ales. The old George in the centre of the city is a quality typical old English pub with good atmosphere. For something very old and different with a snug check out the crown posada towards the quayside. Enjoy lads.
My personal favourite matchday pub is upstairs in Wonderbar (in The Gate) it’s where the majority of the noise can be found pre-match. Others I like for a good pint on a matchday are The Gunner Tavern or The Geordie Star. ⬛️⬜️ ⬛️🟥
Get yourselves upstairs in the wonderbar pre match and post match. Goes off in there 👍🏻
This just appeared on my feed! Funnily enough it looks like you stayed on my street by the shop on the corner
Fair rating, although the noise is always crazy loud, you hit it on a bad day!
That was a good watch lads. You must of caught the atmosphere on a bad day. Getting beat didn't help but most other games are so different.
Just round the corner from the green king pub you were in is The Town Mouse. This pub almost always wins pub of the year in Newcastle
Check out Tynemouth for a night, lads.
Beaches, bars, and a few decent restaurants.
Go down the Fish Quay in North Shields. that's pretty good, and you may want to catch the ferry over to South Shields.
Best thing about South Shields is - you can see North Shields. And the best thing about North Shields is - you’re not in South Shields!
Thanks lads sorry you did not get the usual noise level and you did hit on some fair points there but I'm chuffed with your scores
Ben for the UA-cam one day 👀, us Geordies 🔛🔝 tho
Im a season ticket holder at st james park, the only time you will ever hear chanting through the speaker system is the intro to a rerecording of "the blaydon races" song where it just says "toon toon" 3 or 4 times before kick off
A fair-ish summary but a couple of things…The area is surrounded by parking and stadium sits on top of its own Metro (tube) station- you couldn’t get any closer transport-wise without helicoptering directly onto the pitch. This gives you a 2 minute walk into the ground? You did go to a super generic pub rather than any of those that the city is famous for (some of which are closer to the ground)?
It was interesting to see your rating system however, and I'm glad away fans' efforts are rewarded by a nice weekend 😊. Pleasantly surprised that you like the view from the top of the Leazes stand, I've never been up there myself ! 😅 It's important that visitors enjoy coming up to Tyneside because it's only Newcastle which makes people realise that England is looooong 😂
RE : The Noise
Always find it funny that the season ticket holders blame the so called tourists. 30k of them and they can't dictate the noise!
Changed a lot to early 90’s, I have been upthere about ten times watched B’mth mostly, when I went there in 1991/92 I think it was in the cup, only around 14,000 there for a cup game and we won, it was the first Monday night game on sky I think, full houses now though, definitely in the top three grounds in the premier when they are winning.
Probably the only table we're gonna top for a while, but I'm happy with it!
The Trent House. For the memories.
Fair play lads, nice balanced views overall.. but the multitude of welcoming pubs open & friendly to away fans so close to SJP ,should surely of got a 10!!? 😉 ... all the best to Bournemouth for the rest of the season.. HTL 🏁
Nice balanced view. I agree with the atmosphere at home nowadays. Depends on lots of factors, who we're playing, how we're playing, time of ko which sound weird but it is a factor. There have been some easy 10/10s across the last couple of years PSG, Arsenal, Man City, the other Manchester, Chelsea, Everton, Spurs (for the first 25mins, we were so in shock at 5-0 we didn't know what to do haha). I would say you were harsh on the walk to the stadium given there are 10/15 pubs 1 minute away, a bus stop that drops you right outside the Milburn stand and a Metro station underneath the stadium. Overall though, just give us the win now, forget the rest of the season. Oh and geordies are definitely the most welcoming bunch you'll meet, unless you're a Makem 😂 take care!
If your up for weekend you'll have to stay at, and have friday nite in Tynemouth then breakfast at North Shields quay. Enjoy lads.
Great show lads but you got the noise sadly wrong
That game in particular I do remember being quite shite tbh, they’re right when saying our loudest moment was a last minute equaliser, had we been winning 3-0 the place would have been rocking
The Stack will be built outside of St James' the next time we play Bournemouth at home.
I am an NUFC fan and I apologise to you that you paid that much for a Pie and a Pint...I wouldn't pay that and I live up here...
The Junction, you should've tried their food, omg , their steak pie, buttery mash & fresh broccoli with a fair sized gravy jug for around (or just under) £10 , next time eh ?
Gutted I couldn't make this one, was one of my faves last year!
A canny result for us...The most important thing is that we want you guys here. You are more than welcome...It might be a bit hard for the fans from down the road but all the rest, come up to Newcastle and have some fun...
I am a Newcastle fan and there is no raw through speakers. I was also at the game and the noise section i would really disagree with in your ratings.
Think you probably best coming a neutral game and assessing that way
Can’t believe there was a lack of noise. It’s regularly praised for the atmosphere. Must have been an off day. 😢
Black and white pub beside where the away coaches park. Then it's a 5 minute walk to the ground
Lads it deffo wasn’t 1 of the best games for atmosphere coz we weren’t too good and thought we were gonna lose.
❤
How do you know the people you spoke to were Geordies?
Fiver for pie! Frigging pie man!
Imagine going to Newcastle and not going out in the toon on a night out
Feel like you boys need to visit Newcastle a few more times and have this conversation again. If you’ve went from the junction up the stadium on the route you took you probably missed 90% of the bars and city centre. I always feel like getting the train for away fans is best because they come straight out the station and are dropped straight into the city centre where most of the bars are. I think this is a good representation but you’s honestly missed soooo much that is going on around Newcastle
Great video thanks for the brill ranking. Don't think I've ever know us to play crowd raws through our speakers though but agree this season there seems to be a mix of nerves at time and a canny few tourists that have brought the atmosphere down a little bit, But again thanks for the review
As long as I've been going to Newcastle there's been a nervousness and an anxious feeling, almost desperate a lot of the time, that can quickly turn toxic. I think it's a hangover from missing out on the title in the 90s.
Recommend some different pubs of things to do if you stay over in Newcastle ? 😮 Dear God, you came all this way without researching the area? 😢 Yes mate, there are lots and lots of interesting things you have to see, and videos about The Toon all over UA-cam. Just as a starter, the Quayside and sampling the nightlife around the bridges and the pubs all over the city centre is a must. I'd recommend the view of the Tyne from the top of the Norman keep (the 'castle' in Newcastle), and the walk down Grey Street, but there's more..... 😉
How can tourists fill out more of the stadium though when it's full of season tickets holders, who have had their tickets for years. Can't get a ticket for love nor money outside of the ballet which is only 300 tickets or so. And only the strawberry corner is good atmosphere, the rest is like any other football ground
Hello lad's, glad you enjoyed your time in Newcastle, every fan is welcome at Newcastle unless you're a mackem, you can take your pick of pubs of 108 pubs within a half a mile radius of sjp, thanks for the rates you give us, you'll always be welcome 🖤🤍 hwtl
Sunderland don't have an away pub. They get escorted on buses to and from the ground.
Wow you’ve got a good memory, it’s been that long since they played at Newcastle😂
4 for noise 😮
Canny review, thanks lads. I was at the game and the atmosphere was poor, one of the worst this season. I think that's because of our performance, we struggled in the previous home game against Luton so expected a reaction against yourselves and it didn't happen. I thought you played ok but nowt startling. As for a designated pub the great unwashed use, couldn't happen. In the recent derby at the Darkside you had to travel on club provided busses and you didn't get your ticket until on the bus. Massive police presence, absolutely no way either side could drink in the others pubs
How’ve you rated city 2 higher than ncl for noise☠️😮
Pie & pint at your ground in Bournemouth was daylight robbery in the away end 1 beer on all pumps amstel £6.50 & your pies £7 bloody robbed it's was cheaper in the pub in pokesdown😂
Tifo comes from the italian word Tifosi (ultra fans)... Ferrari F1 fans are called the tifosi.
Genuinely think you've been a handful of points too generous to us.
Geordies are friendly because we are bred from tough people , comfortable in our own skin.
Plus really compared to other places, we've never had much to get defensive or possessive over! I work in construction in people's homes & I'm ALWAYS, without fail, looked after better & made more welcome by those that seem to have less.....it's literally a sliding scale
Mackems are not welcome in the city, never mind the pubs, everyone else is more than welcome. There are over 100 pubs within 5 mins walk in just about any direction except leazes park. Away fans are welcome in them all, unless you are a filthy mackem.
I've always thought the atmosphere is overrated tbh, it's not the noisest place. I think one issue is the imbalanced stadium means the sound escapes rathe than reverberates around.
it's recorded as officially the loudest stadium in the entire country, so I think you need to book a hearing test if you think it's not noisy.
@@rogoth01themasterwizard11 No it's not.
Whether home or away you can always hear us Geordies being loud and proud supporting our lads 🏴🏳️🏴🏳️
Go to the rose and crown and the lowther m8
We go all the time on a Friday morning
Newcastle fan here. You Bournemouth fans have been unlucky with the atmosphere. The three games since lockdown have been an (amazing but they attract first time fans) night cup game, a game diluted by the Queen’s passing and one of the worst performances at home since Steve Bruce was in the dugout. Sadly wasn’t at the cup game but the two most recent league games actually stick out in my head for how poor the atmosphere was compared to how it normally is.
Hopefully we beat you for once next season but always had a soft spot for your lot. Longest journey of the season, you’ll admit you’re a small club but you always bring a decent set of fans. HWTL
Ben's pretty cute
So we might actually win something this season? Cheers lads
🖤🤍🖤🤍🎤🎶🎶🎶
Well I Never absolutely no way.
All the pubs in Newcastle and you go there
I can tell you the inside of the ground isn’t great for us home fans either
Pubs are a 10, come on!
At the top where we belong 🤣
FOUR!!!!
You need to mark Dean Court must be a -8
Ok.
8 for pre match pubs 😂 I’d love to know what’s a 10.
Credibility immediately lost.
Ok. Cheerio then.
The Junction... Really?
Brentford above goodison lol ok
Atmosphere 4 is a lie geordies home and away 10/10
Ffs ? A , 4 for the crowd.. Yes your crowd wa like Liberians at a book conference 😂 try sitting in the home stand and then judge the noise and atmosphere.. you pair of muppets.
So you parked in gateshead and didnt stay in Newcastle overnight
Then give out points on your stay ffs
Wouldn’t look into it too deeply if I were you.
Always prefer Sunderland bit friendlier and the grounds better
Poor atmosphere?????? Are you crazy ,,,,,
It was? Maybe you didn’t go to that game?
Your bias spoiled you show.
I’m sorry but every time I have been to Newcastle I have not been made to feel welcome at all. On 2 occasions when Fulham have won there it was not pleasant at all. We also know that the main reason you go on about them is you still haven’t got over Eddie Howe who won’t be there much longer anyway so perhaps your views will then change.
I've been every time we've played them, 7 times I think. We've won 2 times with no issues and they were before Eddie Howe was the manager.
I dont believe Afcb fans' thoughts on Newcastle are affected by their manager.
Eddie howe is going nowhere bud
4th last season and potentially 6th this season with the worst injuries in the league by a mile
David is pretty sore because we've done them at the Cottage 5 x on the trot
Have Fulham EVER won at St James Park ? Or the cottage either infact ?
