I think you two are the sweetest pair...Brooke with all her energy and mind going a mile a minute - Dave with the thinkers approach (quiet thoughtfully looking) I'm sure just smiles when you are being a whirl wind Brooke. You both just make me smile, thank you. I'm glad they got you sorted out Dave that had to be an extremely hard time for everyone. Did they ever say what caused the scaring in the first place?

I keep hitting the wrong button. Down to 109 lb has a major surgery. Spent 45 days total in the Mayo clinic. Surgery and recovery. I was in tough shape. I do totally believe that God help me through it. Without God we are nothing. It's all hope and love my God.

I don't know how I came across this one... Boy. I really appreciate this one. My mom with Alzheimer's here and the last 2 days like a zombie, can't walk, can't talk... wth. So today she came back to herself at 11:50am. wth. No idea. No idea about anything. So, here we are, back on track, watching you're videos. Watching Brook's videos. And we come across this little gem. Touched my heart. And when it was done, Mom says, "Well, I think we can make it.". I said "Yes" and that is exactly how it made me feel. ;)

I know how you feel... 25 some years ago, I came up with a full blown case of TB. Long story, Uncle was a carrier , my 4 Sisters and I helped take care of him before he passed and I was the only one who got it. I almost died, and now I have a much better outlook on life.... almost losing it, gives you a much "Deeper" life....

Your video is such a strength. My son has been in a situation almost 17 years. He is 17 years old. When he eats it hurts him so bad. Just when we found an answer for surgery, our insurance dropped the doctor we needed on September, 2020. My son, left the house in tears on his skate board wondering how he will live. He returned home after an hour with such a desperate heart. My son still gets up everyday in severe pain. I tell him, I live because he is a fighter. He is about 6ft and 120lbs. I pray to Jesus Christ for a doctor to heal my son. Now I feel the same as you did. The doctor I needed, is no longer available.

    • @Bushradical
      @Bushradical  3 роки тому

I'm sorry to hear that. I would go to the doctor himself and speak to him...not the insurance company.

God bless you and your family. I can relate more than you know. I was in a similar predicament when my children were toddlers. Back in the 80s, I became extremely ill over a very short period of time. The symptoms were bizarre and for about five years I was basically an invalid. I had two young daughters and couldn't even take care of them. I would crawl on my hands and knees to get to bed. Well low and behold, after about five years my symptoms finally began to subside. Most of the five years I thought I was dying, and wish I would hurry up and do it, because I didn't want my children to remember me this way. I eventually, recovered over a period of about a year. Never knew what had happened until over twenty years later, when they had the technology to diagnose me. Lyme disease. Fortunately for me, I have a killer immune system, but even after all those years, it was still in my body. But basically dead or dormant thanks to my immune system. You guys are the best.

Hey Dave, I just recently found your channel and started watching your wife's girl in the woods. I have enjoyed your videos not one for responding. I have suffered with Chronis for my whole life. Me and the little woman are embarking on a new endeavor. We are looking for a piece of bare land to call our own. If we can ever find something we can buy before it gets snatched up. You and your wife have been an inspiration to us. I wanted to thank you and let you know that being 60 an with 3 major surgeries you gave me the confidence to move forward with a dream I though was unattainable. Keep up the good work see you on your next video.

It's very early in the morning of June 27th, 2022. I realize you authored this video on or about Thanksgiving five years ago, but I'm just now seeing it. I believe I was meant to see this, and meant to see it now, at this point in my life. My experience is similar in some respects to yours Dave, but with major differences as well. I was down to 113lb - at 5'10". There are times when I just feel like giving up... Sometimes cancer can make you feel that way. But I know I'm still alive for a reason. (I also know God has a sense of humor) So thank you for posting this Dave... and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, albeit five months early.

Thank you for sharing this. My son was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when he was in first grade. He is 21 now but it has been a long journey. I often wonder if it could be a misdiagnosis because the side effects from many of his meds mimic Crohn's. Anyway, wonderful to hear your story of hope and success. I am always 'late to the party' but I just discovered your Bushradical videos on UA-cam and love them. Been home for several days sick and waiting on Covid test results, but have enjoyed watching your videos. Your way of narrating reminds me so much of "Alone in the Wilderness", the story of Dick Proenneke. Very beautiful. Thank you and may God continue to bless you and your family.

What an amazing story! And such a blessing from God! I just found your channel to girl in the woods. Your voice is amazing you’re amazing and I am learning so much. I may not ever be able to build my own cabin or sink my own well or build my own outhouse, But you have given me an idea of how my husband and I want to retire. We’re both disabled we both have a lot of health issues but we don’t want to sit still. So thanks to you and Brooke we have decided in two years when we retire we are going to travel and buy probably RV due to our health issues we have to be extremely close to bathrooms and a very comfortable bed we are both have back issues. I just had back surgery to have my lower spine fused and he has to have the same thing. So I wish to tell you and please pass this on to Brooke thank you. Thank you for believing in God, thank you for showing us it’s possible to live without a lot of money which we don’t have, and thank you for your inspiration! And I also want to thank you for bringing your beliefs to your channel. I think that’s wonderful and amazing and I just can’t say thank you enough! I look forward to watching as many of your videos as I can in a day between you and your wife and catching up on your history. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future as well!

Here's to the Mayo. A truly wonderful place that treats their patients with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Glad you're still here bud! I had a similar dip through the valley, even bought the cemetery plot. The top Doc in Boston told me "this could be it for you" I almost fell out of the chair. On my knees asking God to extend my life.. 26 yrs later every Birthday is welcomed like a long lost friend. I'm so grateful for every day! Thanks for sharing your story. It reminded me of my own blessings.

Man, I can see how you had such a time coming out of that....I bet you had tons of complications too. How long did it take you to recover?

It took a few years for things to settle down overall-one surgury.. i've used inhalers every day since 92' I got a new med in 09' and ive been able to play hockey again. My mom once told me "The hammer blows of life should bend us Godward, that's why He allows them" it worked for me.

Totally agree. Stuff like that mellows you and makes you think different. In the long run it could be one of the greatest gifts God ever gave you..

After my near death experience I got closer to God. And learned how to make my emotions work for the good and my strength was used to keep busy working and it helped me overcome my problems feeling sorry for myself. I love retirement and I hope my health holds up to eat my favorite foods.

Hi Dave! Thank God you made it, buddy! That Crohn's disease is very bad stuff. I never would have guess you had such a near death experience when I watched you on alone. That's an amazing story and you and your wife are amazing people! God Bless!

It's nice to hear a positive Mayo Clinic story. I'm from Rochester, the whole family worked for Mayo at one time or another. Usually folks around here think of the clinic as a giant octopus type monster that takes over and exploits everything. Typically you have to have damn good insurance or a fortune to be treated like anything other than an experiment.

wow, thats crazy. I imagine when you are from the area you see things a LOT different than you might from an outsider's perspective. I was coming from Fairbanks Alaska....the most expensive healthcare in the nation.......and do you think you get the best doctors in the coldest darkest city in the USA......i wouldn't count on it. So to me Mayo was amazing. And cheaper, too!

I woke up this morning and typed in bushradical. I wanted to watch something meaningful. I'm speechless. I hardly ever cry. Not this time. I had no idea you went through this. I am so glad you made it through. As tough as you are, that must have bad. Thank God you were healed.

Thank you Dave for sharing yours from the heart experience. I know the blessed feeling you speak of after having heart surgery almost two years ago. The complete feeling of surrender into God’s hands was for me the beauty of having open heart surgery. My heart, literally, was opened wider to the surrender, the faith and the trust of God’s plan. My you and your family continued to be blessed.

Great story! You were healed!! God has given you nine years after that experience! 🙏
I've had two friends die on Thanksgiving Day. One, involved a car accident 3 years ago. She had a husband and a grown daughter. The other just died of cancer this past TG. She left behind a husband and two boys 12 and 7.
He is grieving but grateful they had 15 wonderful years. There's a lot we don't understand this side of the kingdom but he is trusting God with his tomorrows. ♡

Wow, tears are running down my face.
I have a lot of health issues. And I want to get better so much. I need hope. I really like listening to your story it gave me hope that I could get myself motivated and find some energy to get things done. I’m trying to figure out my next steps in life.
I’m so tired of this pandemic. I miss everyone.
I can do it. I’m going to try so hard.
Thank you and I’m glad you’re alive.
    Take care, Chris from Massachusetts.
Oh ya. I want to live off the grid to get away from bills, the IRS, and shit.
I may trade in my car for a used van and convert it into a home. There are a lot of UA-cam videos on this subject. Bye
