35:35 “They knew who you were when they invited you. Be you.” - Dr. Charles Edward Booth (Dec.) WOW, Dr. Thomas . . . I so needed that today! I have watch this interview at least 12 times and have missed those words but the Holy Spirit knew I needed them right now. Thank you for sharing.
What a blessing to hear Dr. Thomas speak about his own preaching. I took Dr. Thomas's course "Preaching as Celebration" in the DMin in Preaching program in Chicago, and it changed my preaching and my life. And now I am seeing I have so much more to learn now.
I have missed Pastor Frank's voice since Mississippi Boulevard. I was not a member, but I visited often. The depth of the sermons and the spiritual layering and unlayering were just what I needed. When I just heard the term "contemplative preaching," I thought, "That's it!" Thank you for contributing your gifts toward the diversity of the African American preaching. Bless you in your journey now.
Pastor Frank I new it was something about your teaching that was very profound to me...YOU WERE LUTHERAN! Those are my roots. Calvary Lutheran Church- Memphis,TN was where my foundation was established. 😎
For the True Worshippers of God, there is no Rev Dr. titles in scripture nor in the era of the church. Jesus had no academic / scholastic background. Now many who affirm they are pastors excercise more wisdom than Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the guide for believers not academia. No Baptist Church in scripture. There is one true church per Jesus to Peter. That church came into fruition in Acts.

You said there were no titles in scriptures. As far as your other claim that they are smarter than jesus, you are the only one who feels that way. In no way do they give any notion that they are smarter than christ. Of course Jesus didn't have to go to seminary, He's Jesus. But the disciples studied under Jesus. Paul study under Gamlia. Joshua study under moses so forth and so on. If there were a degree program back in biblical times, they would have their dr. Degree.
Encouraged by this. Thank God for it 2 years later. I needed this in 2022
Thank you, Dr. Thomas, this was needed.
This series is blessing me. How beautiful to see the teacher be there student; the interviewer become the interviewee. Thank you Dr. Thomas!
My favorite sermon Dr. Thomas is “You Never Know What Will Be Required of You.” It really blessed my life!
It’s amazing

Love y'all!
EXCELLENT CONVERSATION BY TWO OF MY FAVORITE PREACHERS

Thank you for this interview.
Dr. Stewart is so pretty..
I could sense you was Lutheran Rev. Thomas, you much too calm and collected.

What you said sounds good but it's not biblical. Eph. 4:11. Read that. It should help you to understand.
