Best mower I've ever had. I actually look forward to mowing my yard with it and liked it so much I mow 2 of my neighbors yards for free. Not looking forward to winter time I think im going to have scag mower withdraws. I can see myself making frequent trips to the garage ending up with 20 coats of wax on my scag before spring time😂. Nice job scag thumbs up for me 👍
Probably one of the best reviews. I have the same one, all season now. Just me and I do 2 lawns on the side. Took some getting use to. To let the mechine do the work. That's where people have there biggest issue and just trash talk this mower. It's not a mower you can man handle like for 21" or time master etc. The cut guilty on the scag is a1 and the engine is a tank very good combo. I out mine threw the ringer this year and very happy with it. However, I did do a diy rubber flap striper ( I did do a UA-cam video) if u click my name and scroll down you can see it. my honda has the same striper. Is how I did all the comparing. I refuse to put it on that scag. Would be alot Harder to use. I used existing holes and a industrial rubber flap and get rhe same results but waaayy lighter. And the Maneuverability did not change at all. First the same striper changes a lot how you maneuver
Thanks for the review, you cleared up some concerns that I had based on the early production. Looking for something better for doing finish cleanup in areas that my larger mower can’t get into easily (personal use).
I bought my Scag SFC 30 w/ castors last spring and it has been a wonderful mower. Upgraded from a Honda HRX217VKA. On my .75 acre property, the Scag cut my mowing time in half. It’s a heavy machine, but with its transmission, I have no problem going up and down my uneven, and hilly terrain. The bag is huge, so less time bagging. Excellent mulching machine. Maintenance isn’t too bad. Don’t wash it with water, use a leaf blower to clean it when you’re done. If the grass is wet, skip mowing until the grass is dry as wet grass will clog this machine up quicker than you can blink. And it’s a pain to unclog. The only thing I don’t care for is how difficult they made the mulching plug to get in/out.
Bro I just came back again after watching your video almost 10 times to say Thank you for recommending Scag SFC30 and i purchased it and I love it so much when compared to Turfmaster HDX and timemaster. Could you please do a short video on how you connected your big league lawn striper?
I get to test the SCAG 21" and 30" tomorrow! The 30" is $1000 off since I was told by a Pro Gold Dealer they are discontinuing the model to either redesign it or scrap it. I only have 5500 sq ft of lawn, so I'm not sure I need the 30 haha, but they sure are pushing it! The 21" has really good reviews so far.
@edburke9181 Really excellent mower but a bit on the heavy side. 7hp for a 21 is pure overkill but it cuts very good. You have to use turtle speed only otherwise this thing will go airborne haha. Its on the pricier side around $1800, but without Honda, there arent a lot of choices for a push mow. WAY nicer than a TimeMaster, which still isn't a bad machine.
Do you have link for the stripe kit? I have a the same mower got back in December and absolutely love it, at the time of purchase SCAG had drastically dropped the price a side from the weight which doesn’t bother me it’s a bad ass mower I do my yard in about 35 minutes great review.
I have zoysia (very thick dense grass) that I use a Honda hrx mower on. It struggles and bogs the engine down sometimes while cutting. I cut it at 1.5” weekly, sometimes 2x a week. Would this scag power thru my grass you think? I love the caster wheel setup.
I am looking to buy one of these. This is one of the best reviews I have seen. I would like to see it in action though and I think I speak for us all when I say we would rather hear your review without the god awful music overlayed. You aint Martin Scorsese!
The fact that you used the other majors, and say this is the best means something. I hate the Exmark 30. In fact, I stuck myself with the Exmark 30 ( because it came out before the Scag ) AND the damn 60, brand new, and they've both given me problems for like 3 years. I bought them both because of pricing, availability, and dealer proximity, and I should have just gone with Scag like I wanted to do years ago🙄 Next time.
If this mower could have a dual wheel motor setup...and you could turn it like a scag 36" walk behind...id be alot happier. Im 6ft4in tall..240lbs, fit...and this thing is a bear to turn.
Worst mower I ever had . Over priced, cumbersome, the swivel wheels cost an extra 350-400$.. Get a zero turn. Got mine for free cuz a customer couldn’t pay me. Turns out though these walk behinds don’t hold value for nothing. I was asking 700 and got laughed at. Several time. Pathetic for a 2,400$ unit. Bogs out in 8” grass. I’ve had briggs and Strattons from peoples garage sales give me the same results. I mean your are already cutting with a 30”, why not get a 32” zero turn or regular lawn tractor. If you don’t have the swivel wheels it is absolute dog crap.
@@smallfry1463 hard to compare a zero turn to a walk behind. It’s the best of what is available that’s for sure. A nice ZT is double the price and doesn’t handle the hills very well either.

The plug is ridiculously impossible to get in. Thanks for the comment- great stuff.

Is there a removable mulching baffle on this mower? Great video.
There is a blocking plate to mulch or bag.
Ya need a reel rollers Revolution 26. Your stripe game will improve

Love my scag, debating getting the stripper kit you have. I dont bag ever. Do you recommend picking up the big league stripper?
I do like the big league striper. I’ve owned a variety of theirs and they have done good things for me

For me the Scag has been the best in terms of performance and cut quality.
Put two grassflaps better than flimsy side clip

I don’t disagree.
Even with the casters- if the transmission isn’t moving- it’s like pushing a tree.
If only this mower had bigger rear wheels, reverse and a easier bag mounting assembly it would be perfect.
