I know right, I thought the singer was good, but definitely didn’t fit the character. It really bothered me, I was kind of able to move past it for the love song.
the movie has its flaws but as someone that’s tired of the horrible writing choices in the show, it was so refreshing and satisfying and above all: the animation is STUNNING
I think the only reason is to my knowledge the singer is the singer of the theme song and I guess they wanted her to have a role in this movie at least 🤷♀️ I had such whiplash though between the voices
@@vstro_i Which just doesn't make any sense to me, since Christina Vee's voice is so much more theatrical and fitting of a musical. This new voice also just does not fit Marinette AT ALL.
the characters feel more fleshed out somehow?? despite the movie being pretty rushed i feel like they really show the different aspects of their personalities so well. i also love the fact that they made a point to say that ladybug and chat noir are STRONGER TOGETHER it heals my stop-sidelining-adrichat heart
i also loved the dynamic they added with marinette and alya, it makes so much sense that an aspiring journalist would want to stick around the (accidental) cause of most of the problems in their grade
They fixed Marinette‘s biggest flaw: being a stalker. Here, she‘s just an antisocial girl who learns how to stand up to herself because of her second identity. It made her so much more likable
@@taki7546 I LOVED MARINETTE IN THIS MOVIE. Of course she still had that overly clumsy personality, but her crush on Adrien was definitely much less creepy. Also we were SERVED with romantic ladynoir scenes 😭
@@taki7546the fact that movie-marinette is the one who confessed to adrien shocked me so much I was so proud of her….. like show-marionette stuttering and tripping over adrien every 5 seconds for 3 seasons straight was NOT something I enjoyed
To be fair, it‘s not hard to create something that’s better than this joke of a finale. 90% of all Miraculous fanfics probably have better endings than this sht
The movie is objectively okay/meh but DEAR GOD it’s such a breath of fresh air. The fact it did EVERYTHING the show still hasn’t done in five seasons is mindblowing. Utter proof Astruc is a damn hack.
Agreed lol. Maybe I love it so much bc the show has me wanting to throw something at my TV every episode. This actually gave me some closure and idk the reveal was super satisfying to me
Does anyone else feel like characters are just more likeable in this movie?? I didn’t get frustrated with them like in the show. Their interactions feel more natural and less forced and cheesy. The dynamic between chat noir and ladybug was just chefs kiss. Everything I wish the show could be.
Same, specially marinette! She is incredibly likable in this! She was acting more like a human being with flaws, fears and desires. When she asked Adrien to the ball felt so proud of her, it was so satisfying!
Adrien is SO teenage boy in the movie and I really like that. Both of them feel a lot more like teenagers. The angst, the self doubt, the delusion and romanticisation. It all just feels a lot more genuine. Also, I like musicals but I wasn’t really feeling it. That is 100% personal opinion tho. I didn’t really vibe that hard with any of the songs, but I do appreciate how they grounded an otherwise quite fast paced movie. It helped the pacing to have those slower moments where the characters got to reflect about feelings and the audience could take in all that had just happened
yessss! i felt the same way. i thought some of the songs sounded a bit repetitive, 😅 but i did hear someone talking about how they were better in french, so i'd like to listen and compare! i think the girl who said that though speaks french as a second language, so she could've just been talking about lyrics, but still hahaha
I was disappointed with Fu's explanation of the Butterfly Miraculous too. Like, Gabriel is abusing it, that's not the intended use! The Butterfly's ability is to create allies and grant temporary powers.
They definetly changed a few things about the Miraculous in this movie. For one, it's called the Chaos Miraculous rather than the Butterfly Miraculous. And I don't think Ladybug miraculoua has her lucky charm that she uses in the show
I interpreted his description of it as his own thoughts about it: in the wrong hands, transfiguration can and does cause chaos. Like, he himself is terrified of how abusing it would cause chaos, much like how Gabriel used it for. Nooroo himself is shown to be a sympathetic and morally good character, so I think it’s a valid reading to not see Fu as a fully reliable narrator. And I think the reason Maribug doesn’t have her Lucky Charm anymore is because they wanted her to be on the same league as Adrichat in regards to power level. She still has a complementary power of restoration (or creation) to his Cataclysm. I don’t fully know how her powers were changed since I haven’t watched the show (nor likely ever will), but I have got the distinct impression she is quite overpowered in the TV show, and they wanted to tone her down to make her and Chat Noir feel like true _partners._
Yeah cat noirs miraculous objectively has the most “evil” ability out there… it’s literally the power of destruction. If they can use the cat miraculous for good, surely the peacock miraculous could be used in that capacity as well if it was in the right hands.
Nino being in love with Alya from the start of the movie instead of liking marinette first is something I absolutely adored and marinette crush for Adrien was less obsessive compared to the show and it felt more like she ACTUALLY loves him instead of just obsessing over him. As someone who stopped watching the show after season 3, I love the movie so much its not perfect but its so good and ended way better than the show did. But tikkis song >>> best song i take no arguments
Bro I didn´t even watch the show, only hearing about it a lot from watching videos, and yet despite that, the movie is better then the actual show! Now I am glad I didn´t watch it, also when Tikki was singing at the very end I was jokingly singing ¨It´s part of the plot, just go with the plot¨
Me in the first 15 minutes of the miraculous movie: Girl what is this musical bullsh*t 💀 Me halfway through: I'm liking this. This is getting interesting... Me at the end: *sobbing* I love this movie.
@@emjem15I honestly expected Gabriel to be more darker In song and more calmer in his actions but the wonky movements he does in the song caught me off guard-😭 In my opinion the song numbers aren’t that good but that’s just me
Honestly Marinette and Adrien both just felt more real. Like Mari gets embarrassed by her dad and that hurts his feelings. Adrien yells at his father. Ladybug is extremely self conscious and doesn’t think she can do it for a while. Cat noir is almost a little meaner. They both have character traits that portray them as less than perfect. Because I feel like in the show they’re both perfect little angels that just have bad stuff happen to them.
After the last season letting us down (ESPECIALLY with Adrien/Chat Noir character "development"), this movie felt like I was finally breathing fresh air again. Sure, it has lots of flaws, but it's so... simple. Like how it used to be, y'know? Ladynoir fighting together against Hawk Moth. And I felt chills and nostalgic. The movie did the justice for us, I absolutely love it.
@@ladypool1404exactly but it felt equal. Like it wasn’t all Lb being a hero like in the show and Chat standing aside. In the movie they were really PARTNERS through and through
I feel like people either LOVE this movie or absolutely hate it. I liked it, it just isn’t anything special and it had its pros and cons. I cant wait to hear your thoughts on it!
Tikki and plagg already chose the holders... They were flying towards their holders. That's why Master Fuu said "OH NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S U" meaning he understood why tikki flew towards her, chose her, because she saved a life, she can save a world. So it was more like a destiny. Also, Gabe went in the prison and akumatized literal CRIMINALS, making his own army. Which is so freaking smart, gotta give him that.
Regarding the Emilie jumpscare. I think it’s implied Nathalie is going to try to revive her against Gabriel’s wishes. The narration we hear as Nathalie enters the chamber seems to me like it was made before the events of the movie. Not to mention Gabe gave up the Butterfly and we see police cars approach him in the shot we see from the helicopter’s perspective, so not only is he reformed but he’s presumably doing time in jail.
@@unicorn_xxx3424 yes, but I made it was well written by a 15 year old in English despite not being my native language and with the names of the characters and certain phrases in French because I was learning French and I watched the show in French.
I felt Gabriel’s musical number was so out of character for who his character was in the moment. Gabriel had so much more internal conflict with his desires than show Gabriel but in a single musical number, he was eating up the Dr. Facilier persona. It didn’t make sense to me how he went from “This is a mighty price to pay” to “I’m going to kick a baby because I can” in the span of 30 seconds
I think they wanted to show a charismatic, enjoyable villain yet still have their cake about him being remorseful and reluctant to do harm. I don't mind him being an enjoyable villain, but there is no room to show a descent to madness or any way to show how his villainous progression. The movie doesn't have the room for it; and honestly, I feel that they could have went with more of a lament in his number-and if they wanted to show him going mad (kind of like they 'tried' to do in the show), maybe have his first akuma mentally break him due to him empathizing with a guy who has lost his love-or maybe show that Raymond (Gargoyle) proposal was similar to what he had did when he proposed to Emilie. Like... he realizes that he is a monster, much like the stone gargoyle, and loses himself into his attempts to get the Miraculouses. Gabriel is torn about the decision and looks to a photo that he probably asked Natalie to take during the proposal; he has fond memories and dons the Butterfly. This could be a good parallel for him and Ladybug in this case (new to things, not confident in his role in everything, etc.). It might even remind him of his days when he was starting out in fashion (much like Marinette). Then he sees the proposal go wrong and it breaks his heart (he has empathy for Raymond and that there is still good in him). Instead of Gabriel acting, the akuma is spawned from his own surprise (not controlling his own emotions) from the Raymond being rejected and lack of grasping his power. I don't care that adults have better control over magic and Miraculouses, it's his first time using it too, so having it be an accident could help match our villain to our heroes. Anyways, the akuma goes out, but Gabe has time to stop it... but he slowly realizes that this is what he must do for his love. He refuses to be lost to love like the Raymond, so he allows the akuma to happen. Cue the in song going from a lament of Gabriel watching his creation fly and descending into madness to create his team of akumatized villains. You can even have it to where Gabe feels a particular connection to his very first akumatization, even if was an accident, and show that the remorse/guilt is still there... even if he buried it deep in his heart. But this is something I came up on the fly. I think another script pass could have caught something like this and done something similar.
@@celestialwolf93I think we needed 1 more hour or something If the movie would have been a show with 1 hour then I think we would have had time for more dinamycs and to stretch more the caracters Like alya and Nino, chleo, Sabrina,Natalie they kinda disappear and even tho we see some of them if it was a show we could have stretch their personality, give them more flaws and make them even more interesting, even tho I love what they did with them we could had so much caracters growth and world building if the idea of this movie was an 1 season show, it would have been amazing Maybe even have some more screens with master Fu or Nooro explaining more interesting things about miraculous or other things The possibilities are killing me rn😭😭😭
There's a theory floating around that him doing the "Dr.Facilier personality" is just him trying to force himself to be the evil villain he's reluctant on becoming. Basically a "fake it till you make it" kinda scenario bumped to 11. Obviously it's again, a theory, but it's pretty plausible when you remember he's a public figure. So he has plenty of experience burying the personal feelings under a "more professional/appropriate persona."
Same, i liked it for humor in the show but it started to get a little old when they dragged it for 5 seasons, so it was really nice to see something new and more serious. It really adds to the movie
I actually loved how they fixed the Gabriel story arc it felt way more authentic and what I would have expected in the tv show, but everytime he found out in the show he's like "sweet my kids now my pawn". I also think for the time they had the character development wasn't bad and at least with LB and CN you could tell she was growing feelings for him, which made sense it's the same boy she knows in real life so having Adrien's character have some consistency between his CN self and real self actually makes a lot of sense. I think Astruc has just gotten carried away with having to do so many seasons and wanted to make it unique and not like other shows, but it's almost out of the realm of reality.
The fact that they handled pretty much everything better in the movie than they did in the show makes the show look even more pathetic, they could've made something great, but they didn't 1) The love plotline feels much more relatable, they really spend time getting closer to one another (and Marinette finally isn't stalking Adrien) 2) Hawkmoth's ending is finally satisfying He got to apologize to his son and take responsibility for his actions, that's great 3) Even Chloe is better, she's better off without any acr at all, than with that half-assed failed redemption arc crap they gave her in the series
This is what I feel about the movie: "8 years of show . . . healed in 1 hour and 40 minutes, THAT my folks . . is TRULY MIRACULOUS" (in my case I watched the movie in French dub, which I really commend) Also when I watched the moment Gabriel starts singing was like "dont u dare to use green lime light" OMG HE USE GREEN LIME LIGHT !! SOOO VILLANIOUS XDDDDDDD
The mime villain is a callback to the mime villain in the original anime trailer! (of course the one in the show) I think it’s nice that they tied them together, especially since the mime is one of the best villains in the show
I actually enjoyed season 4 and 5 cuz we finally got somewhere with the plot… though I ended up hating monarch (hawk moth) so much more. Gave us a terrible dad. Literally the worst!
As much as I did not enjoy the first half, the climax with Gabriel learning Adrian's secret, which caused him to break down was insanely satisfying. Marinette choosing to still fight without her Miraculous was really great development, and while her crush on Adrian wasn't as central it wasn't nearly as creepy. The quality shift was so odd from beginning to end, and if the entire movie was as good as the ending then I would love it. It could have been a lot worse!
If you remember the flashback in the movie, you see gab’s wife wearing the peacock miraculous during her pregnancy. I think they’re still trying to insinuate in this alternate reality that he’s a product of the peacock miraculous.
Nope, look closely. Emilie didn’t start to wear the Peacock until well after Adrien was born. Gabriel’s flashback seems to imply he doesn’t know what she was wearing, either.
Oh yeah! (huge Spoiler alert) In the show, they do clarify that Adrien and felix are sentimonsters so, this makes sense but, YOU JUST SPOILED MOST OF THE SECOND MOVIE FOR ME 😔
Hawk-moths powers are so vaguely defined in this movie like he can akumatise multiple people at a time, he can create force fields, he turns water into lava, he can force choke people, he can fly are we sure the butterfly isn’t just the strongest miraculous?
the movie was definitely rushed and i was very confused about the voice change when marinette was singing, but the animation is beautiful and i am so happy they gave justice to these characters. they all have a personality and it was refreshing. the songs are a bop too.
Base on what the hints. I THINK Gabe's sudden change happens after a similar episode like the gorilla one. Where his actions endangered his son. (That was probably cut out of the film) So he wakes up and now tries to reconnect with his son. But Gabe had broken the bridge SO bad, at that point, that now Adrien is the one pushing him away. Which stresses Gabe even more. Blaming himself that he's losing everything he loves. And this leads to Gabe rebounding back to doing hawkmoth things... MAYBE mow because he thinks getting his wife back means getting his whole family back. .... This is just ONE SMALL SCENE in the movie. And yet it gives you such a fantastic ideas on what COULD have happened if it was a show. And I hate that. Because this movie is basically hinting at a great show, that we may NEVER see.
It especially sucks because both the writers for the movie (Zag himself and Bettina Lopez Mendoza) have *never* written for the show either. So not only is it hinting at a possibly better show, it's hinting what we could've had in the hands of a different writing team *entirely.* And you can even see the difference in quality between when they adhere to Astruc's canon, and when they hop off to do their own thing.
They did say at the verrrryyyyyyy first backstory episode that the buttery miraculous is used to enhance an emotion so you are supposed to use happy feelings and inspirations to create hero colleagues, but Hawkmoth does the inverse
They managed to make Marinette likeable and not annoying than her show counterpart. Also i felt like the final battle was too short and happened so quickly, i was so interested about the final battle it looks good but i wanted the fight scene to be little longer tho lol
Omg I loved your recap of the movie. Your commentary on Gabriel was hilarious. I absolutely loved the movie and all the songs. I also wish that more Adrinette development was shown. But at the same time, my Ladynoir heart was screaming. Overall, I'm so glad this movie finally came out. It was beautiful 😭❤️
This movie actually do something to me It make me feel emotions I laugh, feel surprised, sad for Marinette when she was rejected, and emotional at the finale The show make me so emotionless, I feel nothing but annoyance watching through the 5 seasons
I totally agree with the Adrienette part i feel like they really need to add more scenes with Adrien actually seeing how amazing mari is and denying it just like how mari acts in the movie when she said that I love Adrien. Adrien not Cat Noir. It would be nice to see Adrien also act like that justifying the last scene that he loves Mari same as how much he loves ladybug It would've make the ending more impactful
I loved this movie. They had some issues, but overall it is a considerable improvement. I really like the more grounded realistic approach to the characters. Of course neither of them would be ridiculously social like in the show. While they did kind of hurt the parts of the show that had heart- the symbolism of the umbrella scene, the other characters were kinda sacrificed to have room for Adrien and Marinette’s complicated relationship, etc, but I liked it.
Was it just me or did Chloe seem more hostile in the movie?😭 Like she was already bad in the show, but at least she was mainly just petty. In the movie, that girl was ACTIVELY SEARCHING for Marinette to torture her. It had me scared for her well being 😭😭
Yes, she is. I actually like it, i think the writers wanted to make her bullying in the movie as something more realistic and serious and not a silly thing. But I don't believe she would torture Marinette lol, and she wasn't cartoonishly forced too, for me that's how a bully acts. She wasn't a monster in the movie, yeah, a little weirdo, ofc, but she actually helped Sabrina when shell fell in a scene.
Girl what are you on about , in the series , chloe turned psychotic , she was tame in the movie 🥲 She was a b*tchy bully in the movie , sure , i was actually worried about mari , true but don't compare movie chloe to series chloe , she's a downright psycho there because of Thomas obviously
the careless whisper scene with adrien made me cackle but this movie was a fresh breath of air and from what we got with the actual series. the ladynoir scene also made me giggle and kick my feet, although marinette’s singing voice being different than her normal voice made me feel really weird! erm, it was something alright. 😭
I think Gabe's akumatized victims were actually criminals in a jail. Idk, that's what I thought when I watched it. During the ending scene with Nat, I got the feeling that maybe Gabe doesn't know she's down there, and the voiceover is like a flashback to when Emili "died.' I wonder if the peacock will be more powerful here and will be able to work on its own. That makes more sense than the show version. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed that up somehow. Guess we'll just wait and see! Even with its flaws, I'll still take this movie as cannon to Miraculous over the show anytime! It even made me love Master Fu. I also love that we did _technically_ see more of Emili's character too, even if it was in memories and hallucinations. That's more than the show's ever done. But I will take the show's version of Plagg over the movies... They did my boy dirty- literally. Huh, that pun wasn't intended.
OMG yes when Marinette started singing it was so weird because it sounded so different to her speaking voice. Also the sparkly Cat Noir mask was a definite 10/10. RIP to Lucky Charm 😞
While I do have some problems with some parts of the movie (its pacing, the fact that they didn’t show Adrien transforming or plagg‘s character, sorry but I hate him in this movie), I just gotta say that the ending was PERFECT. It even made me tear up a little when Gabe and Adrien were hugging after finding out their identities. While the finale in the series just made my blood boil
one thing that really striked me about the movie was how many fandom ideas made it into the plot. Marionette getting good at gymnastics when not LB was a big out i saw but also the ending fight. I saw the fight and all i could see was the MLB Youth Animatic. I dont know if it was just a coinsidance or not but wow i really couldnt ignore it
I loved the slight changes of the characters personality. Marinette is so me, and I’m so happy that she found her confidence. My personal favorite was Adrien, the loner/in the feels energy was everything. I started tearing up when they had that LadyNoir duet. It was so cute! I also loved seeing more of that season one flirting and banter. I had no idea how much I missed that. Overall, I loved it and it was a satisfying experience.
My bestie and I were screaming, laughing, confused as all hell. It was very different and made no sense at times. I understand it might've been difficult to put in the origin story, love square, and hawkmoth's rise and fall into a single story. But we'll never know if it can be done to make sense
I loved this movie. It has its flaws and was a bit rushed, but it’s so satisfying compared to the show. The animation is stunning and I liked that it was a musical (I love Disney movies) but they probably could’ve cut 1-2 songs. I internally squealed at the Ladynoir scenes and the identity reveal finally happened 😭 all in all, it was an enjoyable watch and I’m happy Thomas Astruc had no involvement (that man definitely would’ve ruined it). This movie had many things I wish had actually happened in the show.
I really liked it because it was nice to see the characters be realistic & being a fresh breath of air. For Emilie I did assume that she did die until the reveal. I guess Gabriel was really upset that she can’t wake up from the broken peacock so he feels like she is dead. I wanted some Ladrien & Marichat scenes too but maybe for the sequel. Now that they know their identities it’ll be so cute. There are flaws but hopefully in the sequel it can be improved
I think Hawk Moth's voice over at the end was Natalie remembering something he once said to her. My crack theory is that Natalie is in love with either Gabe or Emilie (or both). And wants to bring her back for her love for them.
In the post-credit scene, Gabriel was already gone, to the prison maybe. The voice-over of Gabriel happened way before he was defeated, she knew his secret all along, so she decided, on her own, to take the peacock miraculous and use it. Gabriel was actually redeemed, he wasn't pretending, but Nathalie didn't give up.
I hope we get that teased second movie with Mayura. Just think, we get to see them as a cute couple as teased in the show, and maybe we get a dramatic sentimonster reveal.
At least when Marinette gain confidence thanks to Chat Noir/Adrien's influence, she wasn't such a blabbering mess in front of Adrien unlike in the show. That's growth 😄😄 And yeah, it sounds more natural that Emily died of illness instead of the peacock miraculous which is nonexistent. I'm wondering if the next sequel to this movie, we'll see the other miraculouses and we'll see Chloe's redemption arc in a more natural way than in the show where they ripped off her development "He puts two together for once in his life" What a good way to say that Movie Adrien has the brains to put the puzzle together unlike Show Adrien who's constantly oblivious 😂😂
I feel like this movie unironically had a good romance between the 2. In the show, it was kind of awkward love but in the show, the audience can feel the love. And also Marinette was animated way better in this movie.
I was so upset that Gabriel didn't say "Nooroo, give me a beat" before his song in the movie. PLEASE someone make a thing of him saying "nooroo, give me a beat" and then singing his movie song!!!
i would say otherwise on your point with adrien never falling for marinette ; you see during their hero montage they both overcome their fears - marinette becomes more confident in herself, and adrien opens up more! but to who he opens up to? marinette! so i believe he likes marinette but not to the extent of ladybug (where he physically shows her his mothers theatre), but still likes her enough to open up his past and tell her about his mother. its a very small detail to pick out on, but loved the ending regardless :') (oh and i adored the way marinette took off his mask and put it on herself, and you can see adrien literally tearing up as he realizes marinette is ladybug ;-;)
Feel the same way about most of it. They could’ve kept the songs though because sometimes it felt like the movie stopped so they could sing whereas other’s like Gabriel’s felt like they happened and the movie kept going. Happy about the ending and am also confused about what they have planned since Adrian’s mom is wearing the peacock. I know they want a sequel, but honestly this felt like an ending. Sure I would love to see some of the sidekicks, but this felt like a good spot to stop.
The most jarring part about this movie was probably when Adrien and Marinette started singing. The second most jarring was probably the couple scenes I noticed where it felt like we were missing context. Like when Adrien is getting dating advice from Nino, which cuts to Marinette and Alya commenting on that despite the fact that was never set up on their end. I feel like there’s full moments missing from the movie and it feels weird.
Found a fanfic called "Queen Redux" (yes, the title is what it implies). However, here's what makes it good. While the first two chapters make clear the redemption premise was the initial main cause, onwards, the author makes an effort to balance Astruc's vision with what he lacked in the first place from season 2 forward. Good writing. Basically, the fanfic is somewhat the show's retell/slight retell from "Style Queen" forward, if it had good writing and Chloé (and the rest of the Bourgeouis) didn't suffer character assassination. Others exist, but fot the moment, this is the one I'm gonna focus on reading for the foreseeable future. I truly recommend it because, among other things such as less childish writing, Ladybug and Chat Noir, after "Anansi", start getting more balanced in power. Read it when you have the chance.
I started watching the series when I was like 13(?) and I liked the first 2 seasons somewhat. Stopped for a long while and did not bother to watch season 4-5 because of what it turned into, but the movie was well done. It was slow at first and the end was a bit too fast but otherwise the structure was nice, the characters were more fleshed out and not as one-dimensional as in the series. The music was actually quite good (I watched it online and at first I thought they played the original track over Marinette's parts and I did not find out who actually sang), the animation and style was amazing - it did not deviate too much unlike some tv-to-big screen movies. The negative aspects in some characters were improved or given a deeper input, like for Chloe and Gabriel. The ending was really nice and gave us what we wished the series would have given us (the ball scene was a bit too short). Well-rounded movie, honestly an 8/10.
Would have wanted some lovely moments from the series but the alternate universe was a great idea. Some characters were not as OVERLY dramatic like in the series which I was so glad about, literally let out an overwhelming sigh when I found out that Chloe was not a huge mean girl who was extremely annoyed and whiny. Adrien/Chat Noir was so much more realistic for his situation and he deserved all that love and attention.
I absolutely loved it! Ladynoir is my favourite dynamic so I loved the attention it got and that SONG but I do think there should have been more Adrienette because it's so important that he falls for Marinette too. I did love their little moment at the carnival but there should have been MORE. Also the change in singing voices was very jarring. But otherwise super cute and surprisingly good character development for a short film, and a better ending than season 5's!
At least the musical portion of the movie is better than the actual musical episode we got in the series. The animation is really beautiful! It still gives me whiplash on the difference between marinette’s speaking lines vs musical vocals. Gotta admit tho, the singing vocals is really beautiful. Critical opinion, They low key did plagg dirty on his introduction with just introducing him through a stinky fart instead of how he was actually introduced in show. Other than that, really enjoyed the movie!
😭istg the careless whisper playing (iconic since my mlb bestie came over the day b4 the movie coincidentally and we were playing careless whisper as a random song choice and then the next day we reaslised the movie was out and burst out laughing when careless whisper started playing lmaoo)
This was my first time watching anything miraculous and HOLY this was so beautifully made. The animation team slayed on that. The fact that it was a musical took me by surprise (toooo many songs), plus they kinda sped run tf outta the story from what I’ve heard and seen on tik tok. But other than that it was a cute movie that it makes me wanna get into the series. I’m very invested in ladynoir now
The most unrealistic thing in this movie is that nobody wants to be friends with someone whose parents own a bakery. Me personally, would jump on that train immediately.
YES! You are the FIRST person I've heard talking about Marinette's speaking voice (Cristina Vee) vs. her singing voice (Lou). They did not match at all and it was very jarring! Also the English voice actors for Tikki and Gabriel both got to sing their songs so what the heck?!
I really liked this movie, and I loved that ladybug and chat kept saying 'stronger together!' Instead of in the show where chat is now a side character.
It was such an amazing and unique movie! My soul can now rest in peace knowing that finally Adrien and Marinette know their identities. ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾
They chose the careless whisper for the perfect moments. The first one, I remember that just when the scene began I stated to sing the song at the same time it played because in my head it felt like it would fit (and it did). Then I already had the song lyrics stuck in my head so Adrien's heartbroken scene started and I just began to sing it again to my surprise that part of the song was also fitting in that moment. They knew what they were doing with this one.
As someone who fell off the show mid S2 finale and the first batch of S3 (only kept up with the show by UA-cam clips) I gotta say this movie is a godsend to every fan who has endured the shows slooooooooooooooooow approach to literally everything, however there's somethings I will point out: - Movie was rushed, no doubt about it, but keep in mind it's cramming almost 2 seasons in almost 1hr ½ which proves it can be done right (Looking at you The Last Airbender live action movie) - The songs, although good were waaaaay too many for my like and there was almost no space in between them at some points, I liked that they reined them in on the 3rd act - So many missing scenes, Plagg choosing Adrian, Gabriel busting the criminals out of prison, Adrian/Marinette life outside being superheroes, and the biggest one for me, was the lack of the supporting cast (Ayla specially) but I guess they're being saved for the sequel. Also Plagg was done dirty , hopefully they tone it down in the sequel. - *THOMAS ASTRUCK IS A HACK* and this movie proved that he needs someone to counter him and his weird ass ideas, or at least someone to bounce them back and forth. And he's blasting the movie on twitter since people liked it more than the show.
While there are certain parts of the movie that I laughed at with my friends (the drastic change in singing voices for Marinette, for one), the ending was so perfect. It was the absolute perfect way to wrap it up, and I wish season five did the same. I think that Gabriel will miraculously come back at some point, and I hope this is the kind of ending we get; Adrien’s identity is revealed, Gabriel feels remorse and love for his son (for the first time), and he realizes the error of his ways with Adrien’s help. I just loved the ending of the movie so much, it was the best thing they could do.
I mean, when the entire fandom is screaming "WHY COULDN'T WE GET THIS IN THE FINALE ?!?!" you may wanna reevaluate your career In all honesty, this movie was everything I wanted to see from the show in it's late stages. Real tension between LB and CN as a result of the love square, realistic charters and relationships, Gabe akumatizing actually bad people who want to do bad things, and most importantly, ADDRESSING THE CONFLICT YOU'VE BUILT UP FOR 5 SEASONS. The bare bones story works well since you can leave out the messier plot-lines if they don't get another movie (the Sentimonster plot, the alternate love interest, other heroes) the songs started out really weak and awkward, but got really good towards the end, and I mean Disney level Long haired Gabe is the definition of hysteria, HOW HIGH WAS WHOEVER CAME UP WITH THAT ?!?! and the reveal, MY GOD THE REVEAL, it actually retroactively makes the show worse knowing how easily we could have gotten this WHY ISN'T JEREMY WRITING THE SHOW ?|? did he let it end it so bad so that the movie would be better by comparison?
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDNT REALLY LIKE THE MOVIE. first off …. THE S I N G I N G ….. WHEN DID MIRACULOUS LADYBUG TURN INTO A MUSICAL. second off. I really did fall in love with the original voice actor of marionette and I read another comment saying she sung as well so why didn’t they give her a part? Third off. Again with the SINGING…. THE VOICE DOESNT EVEN MATCH MARRIONETTE ….😭😭😭 FOURTH off, the storyline is kind of unexpected but I’ll praise it ig. There is just so many wrongs I’ve seen but those are literally the things that MADE ME SCREAM 😭😭😭😭

Why only one comment lemme fix that
also i hate how marionettes voice actor and singing actor are different people bc IT IS SO NOTICEABLE
especially bc christina is an amazing singer and she should just sung the marionette songs
Yeah, I get replacing Adrien's VA...but why Marinette's?
I know right, I thought the singer was good, but definitely didn’t fit the character. It really bothered me, I was kind of able to move past it for the love song.
I KNEW IT! Because when I heard Marinettes singing, I was like “now I know, that’s not Marinettes voice actor-“
@@thereal_sunsetsame, it bothered me that it sounded nothing like Marinette. The singer wasn't bad at all but that's just not how Marinette sounds
the movie has its flaws but as someone that’s tired of the horrible writing choices in the show, it was so refreshing and satisfying and above all: the animation is STUNNING
Agreed!
Yes!! It is very realistic & mature especially for Adrien & Marinette.
Adrien looked liked a 7 year old
100% agreed
@@littlesparrow303YES.
the fact that Christina Vee is literally a singer first and foremost... WHY did they not let her sing!! unreal
I think the only reason is to my knowledge the singer is the singer of the theme song and I guess they wanted her to have a role in this movie at least 🤷♀️ I had such whiplash though between the voices
RIGHT LIKE WHAT
THATS WHAT IM SAYINGGG
@@vstro_i Which just doesn't make any sense to me, since Christina Vee's voice is so much more theatrical and fitting of a musical.
This new voice also just does not fit Marinette AT ALL.
jeremy promised lou that she could sing the american version of the songs as well as the french one
the characters feel more fleshed out somehow?? despite the movie being pretty rushed i feel like they really show the different aspects of their personalities so well. i also love the fact that they made a point to say that ladybug and chat noir are STRONGER TOGETHER it heals my stop-sidelining-adrichat heart
Agreed!! They felt more real and personable! Less over-the-top cartoony
i also loved the dynamic they added with marinette and alya, it makes so much sense that an aspiring journalist would want to stick around the (accidental) cause of most of the problems in their grade
The movie felt a bit rushed but I liked it even more than the season 5 finale.
Yeah it was
Yeah, I feel like if they made the movie like an hour longer. It could’ve definitely been better but it wasn’t that bad:)❤
Facts
The ending of the movie literally skyrocketed it to the best miraculous content out there. It wasn’t perfect, but it was perfect enough for me!
He wants you to watch
I feel the same way
Adrien is actually less likeable to me in the movie
Yeah but not with plagg they did him dirty and I loved Chloe in the movie even thought I normally hate her in the show
Same, specially marinette! She is incredibly likable in this! She was acting more like a human being with flaws, fears and desires. When she asked Adrien to the ball felt so proud of her, it was so satisfying!
Adrien was less likeable for me, he was way more of a loose cannon for me with no reason other than to keep the plot moving, at least imo
I WAS WORRIED NO ONE ELSE NOTICED TIKKI ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT. LITERALLY LIKE THE BEST SONG
Agree with most of what you said, but Hawkmoth's song was the best, hands down 😂.
Tikki flat out fucking rapping in the middle of the song is awful though
Adrien's scene with careless Whisper was amazing . I will never forget this man and his emotions❤
Truly a meme material 😂😂😂
It reminded me of the “Are you winning son?” meme
the way i thought i had started playing music over the movie by accident?? it's just so funny and ridiculous, i can't help but love it.
i laughed when i saw it😭😭
I didn't watch the movie yet but this comment alone is driving me to watch it sooner I need to see that
Me in the first 15 minutes of the miraculous movie:
Girl what is this musical bullsh*t 💀
Me halfway through:
I'm liking this. This is getting interesting...
Me at the end:
*sobbing* I love this movie.
omg same lmao i wanted to cry out of cringie-ness bcus of gabriels songgg
@@emjem15 that was my favourite song bro
@@emjem15I honestly expected Gabriel to be more darker In song and more calmer in his actions but the wonky movements he does in the song caught me off guard-😭 In my opinion the song numbers aren’t that good but that’s just me
Same, the first song was horrible, but the rest were pretty good :)
no cause fr 😭
Chat fights Hawkmoth alone at the end while Ladybug was affraid and watches him. She saved him after loosing to the villain though, that was cool!
@@ladypool1404exactly but it felt equal. Like it wasn’t all Lb being a hero like in the show and Chat standing aside. In the movie they were really PARTNERS through and through
I got really confused when I misread “Ladynoir fighting together against Hawk Moth” as “Ladynoir _flirting_ together against Hawk Moth” 😂
I feel like people either LOVE this movie or absolutely hate it. I liked it, it just isn’t anything special and it had its pros and cons. I cant wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I absolutely LOVED it maybe it's just I'm In shock it's here now after I was waiting so long, and I particularly just love it!
I loved this movie personally. Better than the actual show.
@@twilightdreamsame, i think it was much better than the show (don't get me wrong, I love the show)
@user-si7iw3py6j same! The songs are so good! I love stronger together, and all of them 😂
Nah I'm in the middle
Tikki and plagg already chose the holders... They were flying towards their holders. That's why Master Fuu said "OH NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S U" meaning he understood why tikki flew towards her, chose her, because she saved a life, she can save a world.
So it was more like a destiny.
Also, Gabe went in the prison and akumatized literal CRIMINALS, making his own army. Which is so freaking smart, gotta give him that.
no one’s talking about when marionette took off adrian’s masquerade mask and PUT IT ON HERSELF to show him she’s ladybug like HELLO it was so cute
even though there were some flaws, the movie was honestly really good and the animation was TOP TIER
Yeah, i really liked the movie
I’m can’t wait to see what gonna happen in sequel
Regarding the Emilie jumpscare. I think it’s implied Nathalie is going to try to revive her against Gabriel’s wishes. The narration we hear as Nathalie enters the chamber seems to me like it was made before the events of the movie. Not to mention Gabe gave up the Butterfly and we see police cars approach him in the shot we see from the helicopter’s perspective, so not only is he reformed but he’s presumably doing time in jail.
Honestly? I love the idea of big boss supervillain Nathalie.
The movie reminded me of a fanfic I wrote back after season 1 premiered when I was 15
I want this comment pinned 😂
your 15 year-old self literally manifested this movie into existence, i applaud you👏
is it on wattpad?
@@unicorn_xxx3424 yes, but I made it was well written by a 15 year old in English despite not being my native language and with the names of the characters and certain phrases in French because I was learning French and I watched the show in French.
@@unicorn_xxx3424good question I want to know too
I felt Gabriel’s musical number was so out of character for who his character was in the moment.
It does fuck though
@@celestialwolf93I think we needed 1 more hour or something
If the movie would have been a show with 1 hour then I think we would have had time for more dinamycs and to stretch more the caracters
Like alya and Nino, chleo, Sabrina,Natalie they kinda disappear and even tho we see some of them if it was a show we could have stretch their personality, give them more flaws and make them even more interesting, even tho I love what they did with them we could had so much caracters growth and world building if the idea of this movie was an 1 season show, it would have been amazing
Maybe even have some more screens with master Fu or Nooro explaining more interesting things about miraculous or other things
The possibilities are killing me rn😭😭😭
There's a theory floating around that him doing the "Dr.Facilier personality" is just him trying to force himself to be the evil villain he's reluctant on becoming.
Basically a "fake it till you make it" kinda scenario bumped to 11.
Obviously it's again, a theory, but it's pretty plausible when you remember he's a public figure. So he has plenty of experience burying the personal feelings under a "more professional/appropriate persona."
Keith Silverstein ate it up though
Love how Marinette isn’t a cringe psychopath stalker in the movie :)
Same, i liked it for humor in the show but it started to get a little old when they dragged it for 5 seasons, so it was really nice to see something new and more serious. It really adds to the movie
Me too l like how she has normal feelings
It is a cartoon , that's why her clumsiness was exaggerated....no need overthinking.it.
All flaws aside the way they trolled the fans with cutting seeing the kiss scene 😂
STILL GOT US WAITING
That was such a blue ball moment, but gotta respect the fact they went for it.

I don’t care what anyone says, this movie is canon in my mind. The show can rot
AGREED
Same here!
The fact that they handled pretty much everything better in the movie than they did in the show makes the show look even more pathetic, they could've made something great, but they didn't
1) The love plotline feels much more relatable, they really spend time getting closer to one another (and Marinette finally isn't stalking Adrien)
2) Hawkmoth's ending is finally satisfying
He got to apologize to his son and take responsibility for his actions, that's great
3) Even Chloe is better, she's better off without any acr at all, than with that half-assed failed redemption arc crap they gave her in the series
This is what I feel about the movie: "8 years of show . . . healed in 1 hour and 40 minutes, THAT my folks . . is TRULY MIRACULOUS" (in my case I watched the movie in French dub, which I really commend)
Also when I watched the moment Gabriel starts singing was like "dont u dare to use green lime light" OMG HE USE GREEN LIME LIGHT !! SOOO VILLANIOUS XDDDDDDD
The mime villain is a callback to the mime villain in the original anime trailer! (of course the one in the show) I think it’s nice that they tied them together, especially since the mime is one of the best villains in the show
I appreciated the fact Marinette wasn’t a stalker for once-
Me too
Marinette dindn't really stalk Adrien
I dipped the show mid season three I couldn’t handle it. Personally despite its flaws I was satisfied with the movie and can’t wait for a sequel 😊
i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make a sequel but i certainly wouldn't complain if they did!
Same, I stopped watching after season three. The movie was enjoyable, I love Hawkmoth's song and the one where Mari meets Tikki.
I actually enjoyed season 4 and 5 cuz we finally got somewhere with the plot… though I ended up hating monarch (hawk moth) so much more. Gave us a terrible dad. Literally the worst!
I don’t think it needs a sequel tbh
@@lunarialoonatic me neither but i certainly wont complain if it does get one lol.
Oh yeah!
(huge Spoiler alert)
In the show, they do clarify that Adrien and felix are sentimonsters so, this makes sense but, YOU JUST SPOILED MOST OF THE SECOND MOVIE FOR ME 😔
I'm sure we all probably screamed when we saw Gabriel's hair when he was younger, I deadass wanted to cry
Hawk-moths powers are so vaguely defined in this movie like he can akumatise multiple people at a time, he can create force fields, he turns water into lava, he can force choke people, he can fly are we sure the butterfly isn’t just the strongest miraculous?
the movie was definitely rushed and i was very confused about the voice change when marinette was singing, but the animation is beautiful and i am so happy they gave justice to these characters. they all have a personality and it was refreshing. the songs are a bop too.
i liked the movie, i wish they had more time because it felt SO rushed. the 10 year old ladynoir shipper in me was overjoyed, though.
Base on what the hints. I THINK Gabe's sudden change happens after a similar episode like the gorilla one. Where his actions endangered his son. (That was probably cut out of the film)
So he wakes up and now tries to reconnect with his son.
So not only is it hinting at a possibly better show, it's hinting what we could've had in the hands of a different writing team *entirely.*
And you can even see the difference in quality between when they adhere to Astruc's canon, and when they hop off to do their own thing.
Also i felt like the final battle was too short and happened so quickly, i was so interested about the final battle it looks good but i wanted the fight scene to be little longer tho lol
careless whisper and wilhelm scream actually being in the movie and not being some shitpost memes or edits is honestly the funniest shit
Same, I loved the movie!
Sameee
This movie actually do something to me
It make me feel emotions
I laugh, feel surprised, sad for Marinette when she was rejected, and emotional at the finale
The show make me so emotionless, I feel nothing but annoyance watching through the 5 seasons
As a miraculous fan for the past six years, I feel like I finally got closure watching the miraculous movie 😂😂😅😭
I totally agree with the Adrienette part i feel like they really need to add more scenes with Adrien actually seeing how amazing mari is and denying it just like how mari acts in the movie when she said that I love Adrien. Adrien not Cat Noir. It would be nice to see Adrien also act like that justifying the last scene that he loves Mari same as how much he loves ladybug
It would've make the ending more impactful
I agree so so much!
Girl what are you on about , in the series , chloe turned psychotic , she was tame in the movie 🥲
She was a b*tchy bully in the movie , sure , i was actually worried about mari , true but don't compare movie chloe to series chloe , she's a downright psycho there because of Thomas obviously
the careless whisper scene with adrien made me cackle but this movie was a fresh breath of air and from what we got with the actual series. the ladynoir scene also made me giggle and kick my feet,
although marinette’s singing voice being different than her normal voice made me feel really weird! erm, it was something alright.
I'm so glad you brought up Marinette's singing voice! It was so distracting and felt so out of place!
The movie actually made me LIKE Marienette! It felt so weird cause I normally hate her! I love the fact she had freckles though! She looked so cute!!
Bro Cat Noir’s lil song was so cute
“It’s been a while since I smiled and meant it” AHHH 🥲
i actually cant when i realised it was a musical i started sobbing
One of the biggest things that took me out was after Adrien yells at his dad, he storms off in the direction of Gabe’s OFFICE
Gabe's song is so Disney villain so Scar so Dr. Facilier i loved it
I think Hawk Moth's voice over at the end was Natalie remembering something he once said to her.
Love ya girlie😚 the movie tho was shocking to me how fast they just revealed the identities 😨😨
I hope we get that teased second movie with Mayura. Just think, we get to see them as a cute couple as teased in the show, and maybe we get a dramatic sentimonster reveal.
the careless wisper was amazing🤞🤞
Only part I liked tbh
At least when Marinette gain confidence thanks to Chat Noir/Adrien's influence, she wasn't such a blabbering mess in front of Adrien unlike in the show. That's growth 😄😄
And yeah, it sounds more natural that Emily died of illness instead of the peacock miraculous which is nonexistent. I'm wondering if the next sequel to this movie, we'll see the other miraculouses and we'll see Chloe's redemption arc in a more natural way than in the show where they ripped off her development
"He puts two together for once in his life" What a good way to say that Movie Adrien has the brains to put the puzzle together unlike Show Adrien who's constantly oblivious 😂😂
I noticed that Emilie was wearing the Peacock Miraculous at the very end, when Nathalie went to see her.
I feel like this movie unironically had a good romance between the 2. In the show, it was kind of awkward love but in the show, the audience can feel the love. And also Marinette was animated way better in this movie.
Jeremy Zag gave us in 1 movie everything that Thomas didn't give us in 5 seasons
I was so upset that Gabriel didn't say "Nooroo, give me a beat" before his song in the movie. PLEASE someone make a thing of him saying "nooroo, give me a beat" and then singing his movie song!!!
i personally headcanon that plagg chose adrien in the movie because gabe is rich and probably has a lot of food
i would say otherwise on your point with adrien never falling for marinette ; you see during their hero montage they both overcome their fears - marinette becomes more confident in herself, and adrien opens up more! but to who he opens up to? marinette! so i believe he likes marinette but not to the extent of ladybug (where he physically shows her his mothers theatre), but still likes her enough to open up his past and tell her about his mother. its a very small detail to pick out on, but loved the ending regardless :')
(oh and i adored the way marinette took off his mask and put it on herself, and you can see adrien literally tearing up as he realizes marinette is ladybug ;-;)
This is like the 5th video I watch that talks about this movie and the 5th one in a row that roasts Gabe's long hair lmaoooo
At the end scene we were all so excited and when I tell you the ENTIRE THEATER STARTED SCREAMING😭
I love Lou as the singer!! Sure it was weird they didn’t let the actual actors sing but Lou is great 👍
9:47 I lost it at that part when I was watching it 😭 I now associate him with Careless Whisper; even saved it to my CN playlist lmao
Long haired Gabriel was legit a jump scare for me
The animation in this movie was so pretty that if the show looked like this all the time I'd probably forgive 90% of it's problems.
I thought that scene was just to inspire the audience to watch the show
The most jarring part about this movie was probably when Adrien and Marinette started singing.
I realy love the implication that Natalie might be the new villain! It would be way better than Lila, like in the show!
The Movie is officially the only Universe I accept.
Its not canon to the shows story
@@rosies69 oh yeahhhh 😭
@@wwg2005 yeah. Its basically zags version of the show. Reimagined basically
@@rosies69 nooo i'm gonna believe it is >^
@@sober_katz wtf... its not part of the story canon of the show...
😭istg the careless whisper playing
(iconic since my mlb bestie came over the day b4 the movie coincidentally and we were playing careless whisper as a random song choice and then the next day we reaslised the movie was out and burst out laughing when careless whisper started playing lmaoo)
I literally can listen to u talk ab miraculous for hoursss ur voice is so satisfying! (Btw I love ur videos smm)
I really liked this movie, and I loved that ladybug and chat kept saying 'stronger together!' Instead of in the show where chat is now a side character.
This movie got me into my Adrienette feels again(and I haven't shipped them in YEARS).
As someone who fell off the show mid S2 finale and the first batch of S3 (only kept up with the show by UA-cam clips) I gotta say this movie is a godsend to every fan who has endured the shows slooooooooooooooooow approach to literally everything, however there's somethings I will point out:
- Movie was rushed, no doubt about it, but keep in mind it's cramming almost 2 seasons in almost 1hr ½ which proves it can be done right (Looking at you The Last Airbender live action movie)
- The songs, although good were waaaaay too many for my like and there was almost no space in between them at some points, I liked that they reined them in on the 3rd act
- So many missing scenes, Plagg choosing Adrian, Gabriel busting the criminals out of prison, Adrian/Marinette life outside being superheroes, and the biggest one for me, was the lack of the supporting cast (Ayla specially) but I guess they're being saved for the sequel.
I just loved the ending of the movie so much, it was the best thing they could do.
i’ve been waiting for you to talk about this!!!
I mean, when the entire fandom is screaming "WHY COULDN'T WE GET THIS IN THE FINALE ?!?!" you may wanna reevaluate your career
In all honesty, this movie was everything I wanted to see from the show in it's late stages. Real tension between LB and CN as a result of the love square, realistic charters and relationships, Gabe akumatizing actually bad people who want to do bad things, and most importantly, ADDRESSING THE CONFLICT YOU'VE BUILT UP FOR 5 SEASONS.
The bare bones story works well since you can leave out the messier plot-lines if they don't get another movie (the Sentimonster plot, the alternate love interest, other heroes)
the songs started out really weak and awkward, but got really good towards the end, and I mean Disney level
Long haired Gabe is the definition of hysteria, HOW HIGH WAS WHOEVER CAME UP WITH THAT ?!?!
and the reveal, MY GOD THE REVEAL, it actually retroactively makes the show worse knowing how easily we could have gotten this
WHY ISN'T JEREMY WRITING THE SHOW ?|? did he let it end it so bad so that the movie would be better by comparison?
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDNT REALLY LIKE THE MOVIE.
first off …. THE S I N G I N G ….. WHEN DID MIRACULOUS LADYBUG TURN INTO A MUSICAL.
second off. I really did fall in love with the original voice actor of marionette and I read another comment saying she sung as well so why didn’t they give her a part?
Third off. Again with the SINGING…. THE VOICE DOESNT EVEN MATCH MARRIONETTE ….😭😭😭
FOURTH off, the storyline is kind of unexpected but I’ll praise it ig.
There is just so many wrongs I’ve seen but those are literally the things that MADE ME SCREAM 😭😭😭😭
