I remember this show. Wonderful performers all around. I always lament the early passing of conductor Calvin Simmons at age 32. He was just hitting his stride and I think would have become one of the very best. It''s too bad commercial television offers us nothing like this anymore.

As a flute player, not a professional, I am always delighted to hear Galway . He inspires me to pick the flute. Ms Norman is superb.

I was nine at the time and halfway through junior school. Remember James Galway and the magic of his flute. Some of these kids would have been the same age as me, so now aged 53! Has anyone heard of Atarah Bem Tovin? I saw her promote Children's Concerts in Birmingham.

This is perfect for knowing how to imitate a good sound at playing. I learnt much more doing this than playing stupid Taffanel exercises. Thats how i got a very good tuneful sound and full bodied. Listening music and playing over it. I M I T A T I N G
