Sarah was born in 1980 December and had 1st playing with local philadelphia orchestra when she was 4 yrs. The sensational debut was playing Paganini concerto with Zhubin Mehta of NY Philharmonic when she was only 8 yrs. And recorded album at 9 years that's youngist record in the classic world ever. This prodigy makes us happy with keep playing passionatly with deepen emotion upon she's growing up to 20's without slump. This Meldelssohn concerto was at her 14 1/2 years. God bless her!
Damn she can make that violin sing louder than an entire orchestra with such immaculate tone and clarity. Brilliant performance.

I've seen this probably 20 times or more, still I'm awestruck, dazed, and almost in tears when i hear this. Almost too good to be believable.
She's one of the greatest living violinists, and that's been true since she was 8 years old.
She makes it look effortless!!!!

I've heard many interpretations of this song by many people, including seeing Joshua Bell play this live. Don't get me wrong, his performance was amazing, and as much as I wanted to like his performance more, Sarah Chang's is still my favorite.

Sarah Chang should have remained 15 years old through out her musical career,
because this is simply what the Spaniard calls, OBRA MAESTRA. A musical masterpiece of a lifetime. A masterstroke that is now preserve for the next generations to enjoy. Ella ha arrancado un golpe maestro real aquí!
Dude, she has pulled off a real master stroke here. In golf, it is a hole in one. In basketball, it is a slam dunk, In baseball & tennis, it is a grand slam. In soccer, it is the strike that wins the penalty shootout!
She has engaged in many shades of subtlety inherent in this Mendelssohn arrangement. She was sizzling here and basking in the glorious sound of her violin with technical precision & emotional sound that is unusually personal. She was on top form right up to the last note of the 3rd movement. An OBRA MAESTRA, indeed!
P.S. I bet my bottom $$$, the Sarah Chang of today cannot compete with this 15 year old Sarah Chang of the past.

My violin teacher, Mr.Ahn, personally taught her and knew her family very well. I used her violin that she used when she was young. Though I don't know her myself, her music allows everyone to move wifh her! I am going to start this music soon, and I'm glad Sarah Chang had played this piece. :)

she has an insanely fast nervous system for a 15 year old. Her muscles haven't completely developed yet and she moves like lightning. She is truly a talented young lady.
That makes no sense. Her performance of the Paganini violin concerto at 15 years old is world class regardless of age. By then her technique was already probably top 3 in the world.

The NY Phil doesn't perform with just anybody!! This is a wonderful performance by a gifted young violinist. Critiques are great when appropriate but this should only be praised. What an achievement!!

One of my idols growing up, i have this concert on VHS. So good. By the time she was done with the entire piece she had broken several of the individual horsehair strings on her bow. Amazing =)

Absolument extraordinaire: je viens juste de me rendre compte que le thème principal de ce mouvement (2:03-2:30) ressemble énormement à la bande originale du film Les Visiteurs de Jean-Marie Poiré. J'aurai jamais cru que Mendelsohn aurait pu être réécrit et revisité pour coller au thème du moyen-âge. C'est dingue. : )
