Pedro Martinez, 5/18/02, Seattle @ Boston, 1st inning. Matt Clement, 8/29/03, Cubs @ San Francisco, 5th inning. But that one was after he hit Andres Galarraga on a 2-2 count. He struck out the next three on nine pitches.
up until the year 1990 there had only been 27 immaculate 3K 9pitch innings in the history of the Major Leagues. That's the recorded ones. I think if they'd been paying closer attention, there would have been more like 2-5 instances of this per year. They used to make a big deal that Nolan Ryan had 3 or 4 or the 27 recorded "Immaculate" innings in Major league history back in documentaries in the 90's; Now I think it must have been a much more common occurrence than that
cool vid love videos like this but that rays vs os that should also be on getting out of jams too or bases loaded no outs but ik u cant put them all up there
Baltimore and Tampa Bay isn't an immaculate inning...the bases are loaded. A genuine immaculate inning is an entire half inning that is 3 up/3 down and all 3 are strikeouts and on only 9 pitches.
It was an immaculate inning by that pitcher -- if you listen to the announcers, he had just entered the game. Evidently after the previous pitcher allowed the bases to become loaded, they pulled him from the game and put Boxberger in. So yeah, the INNING wasn't immaculate, but as for that pitcher, he entered the game, threw 9 strikes in 9 pitches for 3 outs, and it counts. An immaculate inning only refers to the one pitcher who threw it.
So many of these at-bats follow the Take strike 1 - Foul strike 2 -Swinging strike 3. Unless you're facing an ace and need to work his pitch count, dudes should be swinging at down-the-pipe first pitches more often!
Brad Boxberger strikes out the side on nine pitches, leaving the bases loaded? How is that possible? Did he enter the game in relief and inherit a bases-loaded-with-no-out jam?
Yes. From the focus on David Price in the dugout, I assume he started the inning and left the bases loaded, no-outs mess behind. But Boxberger's stats (5 games, 0.00 ERA, less than 8 IP), and the running pitch count make it clear that these are the first three batters he's faced.
Kinda shows you how little effort the commentators put in. Not realizing the pitcher just pitched an immaculate inning and zero praise, let’s talk about some random players cousin instead.
LOL, but back when Roy Halladay did it with the Phillies , his stuff was just so good, you couldn't foul it off. I remember a 9 pitch inning with 3K's he threw where all the K's were looking. I mean guys didn't even swing and it was over. Today, Yu Darvish of the rangers has had several innings of 3K and 10-11 pitches , so it's not a matter of what You will allow man, it's a matter of how filthy and accurate the pitches are. with the right combination of accuracy and stuff, this just happens. It's also a matter of who's up to bat --- bottom of the Padres; order - hell yeah. Top of the Yankees or blue jay's order -- mabe not so much
Sorry Boys, When my daughter was 12 she pitched a perfect inning. 1. First pitch, pop-up caught by catcher, one out. 2. Second pitch, line drive back to her glove, out two. 3. Third pitch, bunt down third base line, thrown out at first, out three. Sorry no video, but it has been done.
Watch PART 2 Here! ua-cam.com/video/x5fKyfCJQI8/v-deo.html
One of the more under-appreciated accomplishments in baseball.
Commentators don't really show any emotions over these even though they're more rare than no hitters
They're rarer than perfect games. . .
me5141 I think they are more common than perfect games but not by much
*_Chunky Ragu_* nope there are less immaculate innings than perfect games by a giant margin
*_Chunky Ragu_* ua-cam.com/video/8EGbh1MChCk/v-deo.html
caleb tinker a no hitter is not the same thing as a perfect game. There have only been 23 or 24 perfect games in MLB history and 89 immaculate innings
1:42 just the way he says "tight little cutter" creeps me out.
Tom jaja xd true
Tom
What are you...12 years old?
Tom the voice he uses to say it makes it sound so sexual
Tom same bro same I died laughing
Can you do one 3 pitches 3 outs if you can
Yes video coming up!!
27 pitches 27 outs immaculate game
lol the ump throws a laser to the pitcher at 0:21
Lots of these announcers dont even realize they just called an immaculate inning
anyone thrown a no toucher inning? 9 pitches, 9 strikes, 3 strikeouts, no foul balls
I'm curious about that too.
I think Dellin Betances did it yesterday
He meant pros not a 14 y/o little leaguer.
Seriously, I threw a perfect game when I was 15 they didn't put me on the Wiki page or nothing
4:46 why did the fire graphic on the radar gun come up for a 91 mph fastball? I thought it was 95 plus that made the radar gun light up.
I thought it was 90 and up?
maybe they changed it
DoctorIllusion idk
What game was it at 1:10? Looks like Molina was about to get in an argument with the umpire about that last pitch.
I think Yadi ended up walking away from it, not sure which game it was
Fiers, the worst pitcher to have both an immaculate inning and a no hitter.
Nope
Pedro Martinez, 5/18/02, Seattle @ Boston, 1st inning. Matt Clement, 8/29/03, Cubs @ San Francisco, 5th inning. But that one was after he hit Andres Galarraga on a 2-2 count. He struck out the next three on nine pitches.
0:21 the ump waited his whole life for that throw
Kenley Jansen just did this 5-19-2017 for the save vs the Marlins, plus one more K in the e 8th inning.
Now one question is a immaculate, no hitter, perfect game possible?
Yes, it's possible. But the odds make it seem impossible because of the skill level of MLB hitters.
Fun fact: The Rangers and Twins are the only teams to not have a pitcher pitch an immaculate inning.
up until the year 1990 there had only been 27 immaculate 3K 9pitch innings in the history of the Major Leagues. That's the recorded ones. I think if they'd been paying closer attention, there would have been more like 2-5 instances of this per year.

9-9-3 (9 pitches 9 strikes 3 outs)is a heaven for pitcher and a nightmare for batters
Boxberger stepping in with the bases juiced and no outs, clutch.
should have included Byung hyun Kim's 9 pitch 3 strike out in one inning VS. Phillies in 2001 or 2002.
EnfantTerrible7 fffffd

Make a video, then

Immaculate inning is so uncommon that commentators don't even realize it when it happens.
didn't Felix do this once? do you have that video?
1:19 look in the background at the man with his hat upside down
I wonder who has the most 9 pitches inning strikeouts
This used to be an amazing feet except teams today have more strikeout by the all-star break than they used to have all season.
6:28 It's bases loaded, that has to be more than 9 pitches!
Boxberger entered the game as a relief pitcher with the bases already loaded, so he only threw 9 pitches.
Wtf why is the outro Polanco throwing out a cubs player from right field when this is a “cubs fan’s channe”
No Kind Felix?
Everyone always forgeta that santiago cassia threw an immaculate inning for a save.
Hey can you do 4 strike out innings?
That'll be up next!
That's impossible dumbass
Branson Lee do some research before you go around calling names you idiot
One of the strike outs results in 1rst being stolen. Its still recorded as a strikeout but it isn't an out.
Max Scherzer just did this today, June 5, 2018.
I did this a few times in highschool. 2 seam fastballs on the corners or up and in had them guessing for days
So many of these at-bats follow the Take strike 1 - Foul strike 2 -Swinging strike 3.
Unless you're facing an ace and need to work his pitch count, dudes should be swinging at down-the-pipe first pitches more often!
Unless you're Todd Frazier and the pattern is Swinging - Swinging - Swinging. Hamels texted Frazier post-game thanking him for the breeze.
lol the first one they all foul off the second pitch. it's pretty much the same sequence all 3 times.
Brad Boxberger strikes out the side on nine pitches, leaving the bases loaded? How is that possible? Did he enter the game in relief and inherit a bases-loaded-with-no-out jam?

that immac with bases loaded tho
Degrom was close in the all star game he threw 10 pitches and struck out three with 9 strikes one ball
thank god you put delabar
Max Scherzer did this today
And he did it again today. Max Scherzer for you.
First pitcher in this compilation had help from the umpire because at least 2 strikes should have been called balls.
1:09 how in the hell was that a strike?!
LOL u maaaaaddd! 😎 bob Marley yeah!
See, I know it would and could never happen, but to me THAT would be the definition of a "Perfect Game" - 81 straight strikes, 27 straight strikeouts.
Given the fact that Sandy Koufax leads all of baseball with three career immaculate innings I'd say the odds of that are rather slim.
And since it would never happen, there would be no reason to name it anything. So, I think we got it right.
Rallarbusen the odds of that happening are about 1 in 4.434*10^38
I used to do this all the time... on Ken Griffey Jr. MLB for the SNES😅 They could call it an immaculate game
This may be pretty rare but how about all 3 outs by the same fielder.
As the announcers always say, that's a "record held by many".
Adam ottavino of the Colorado Rockies did this in 2016 I believe
Ryan did it in an all star game
1:23 balk
I thought balks were a runners on only type situation
Pretty much every time Aroldis Chapman saw action in 2014
I really felt the Holy Spirit in that one.
The first one was weird. All 3 were one strike without a swing, a foul ball then a swing and a miss. Plus even one of the last pitches were 93mph
Even stranger, the second pitch to all three batters was fouled off.
Jaw dropped at Richards curve
Did they all fail to mention that it was an immaculate inning?
This compilation would be more fun if we got to hear the announcer's reactions after the fact
1:16 Darude Sandstorm.
2:18 "9 pitches 9 strikes"
I wonder. Is this rarer than a no hitter?
G Melford it is. There have been almost 300 no-hitters in MLB history and only 89 immaculate innings
A perfect game where no runners get on base. It's happened only 23 times in MLB history.
Wow no pitch track, and catchers not yanking balls. I miss this.
The first pitcher had each batter foul off strike two.
Kinda shows you how little effort the commentators put in. Not realizing the pitcher just pitched an immaculate inning and zero praise, let’s talk about some random players cousin instead.
Porcello did this last year
rarer than no hitters!
Back when Casilla was "somewhat" good.
Hey I’ve done this before
In a video game
Looks like a compilation of empty stadiums to me.
you can't allow a 9 pitch inning, you just cant
LOL, but back when Roy Halladay did it with the Phillies , his stuff was just so good, you couldn't foul it off.
I remember a 9 pitch inning with 3K's he threw where all the K's were looking. I mean guys didn't even swing and it was over.

anyone ever pull off 81 pitch game?
Sorry Boys, When my daughter was 12 she pitched a perfect inning.
1. First pitch, pop-up caught by catcher, one out.
2. Second pitch, line drive back to her glove, out two.
3. Third pitch, bunt down third base line, thrown out at first, out three.
Sorry no video, but it has been done.
and no one gives a fuck
Except these are pros and it needs to be 9 strikes and nothing else, whereas your daughter didnt throw a single strike
When i was 12 i wouldve taken your daughter yard
But, the idea of perfect means the ball doesn't get touched. But three outs on three pitches is more efficient on the arm.
focodoco - No, just you.
It'll never happen, but what about an 81-pitch, 27 K perfect game? Might take a knuckleballer to do it...lol.
announcers don't make much of it.... one of the problems of baseball today...
