THEY NEED TO MAKE REMAKE THIS GAME WAS AS A KID THIS WAS MY ASCAPE WHEN BAD THINGS WERE GOING DOWN WITH MY PARENTS THE FIGHTING AND THE BULL. this game was just one of a kind!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn, sorry to hear about your childhood issues! But yeah, games can be a good temporary escape!
They're an alternative universe out there, a place where Small Brawl was made before Black and so, the game was made exactly as the devs actually wanted for the PS2, broke records and stayed as one of the most remembered PS2 games ever.
That universe is very very different from ours.
I know that this game was geared towards kids but I still love so much about it to this day. "Better uh, tighten that seatbelt, Twister!" Still gets me going.
Also there was actually 2 damage models in Twisted Metal 1. You have to be deep in the red to see it.
I need a mod of this game with Ed Edd and Eddy sound effects.
I think Small Brawl is good, always have since I first played it as a kid. I may have played Black and all the other PS1 TMs before it so I had the whole rest of the series to compare it to, but it definitely found its place as a solid B tier TM game in my mind. Playing as RC cars instead of real cars is and always was such a cool, novel idea - fun and creative, not childish! I've always embraced it as such.
Twisted metal 4 and small brawl were my favorites as a kid. Currently my favorites are black and 2012, but I really think small brawl has better endings than twisted metal 4 or 3 and as much as I love licensed music, I think small brawl has an awesome soundtrack.
Honestly, I think this game is the best in the series in terms of the gameplay matching the world it takes place in. The wild way vehicles control in Twisted Metal games feels very "gamey", as in unrealistic for the vehicles you're controlling. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when you're playing something like Twisted Metal Black, there's a certain level of disconnect between the dark and semi-realistic tone and the gameplay that feels like you're declining around in toy cars. But the fact that you're driving RC cars in this game makes it feel like the only game in the franchise where the aesthetics and gameplay line up so well and nearly complete erases the disconnect that I've always felt in the other games.
For me it's just the gameplay weapons travel through the air too slow to catch up with cars half of the time and a lot of stuff ends up missing makes the battles go on for too long
So there actually is a button command for using your special. It can be a bit annoying since you can waste a special easily, but if you know what the combo is you can avoid it.
PS2 Small Brawl would've easily been best game in the series
I don’t forget this game I love this game and I own this game
Rite, *Small Brawl* is exactly the case when the _spinoff_ is better than the some original *_TM_* from the series.. 🤡🔥
noice video
Maybe get confused with Re-Volt?
Maaannnnn Re-Volt was amazing!!!
@@VicariousNickGaming yea, especially on PC, tons of fanmade tracks, cars and other stuff
Simple answer, they put it on an old console that they thought had way higher of a market base then it did and they didnt market it well. Also its a kids game rated teen from a series thats last entry was very dark and controversial. Sony did nothing right with this game... or franchise as a whole
Wow. Talk about a miss opportunity for Small Brawl which could have been part of the cross generation games. Especially during this time where despite games being made for the sixth generation consoles, there were games still being made for the fifth generation games. Plus, that's what games did during this time. They encourage people to buy their products. Lets say you're reading the manual, there are manuals that would advertise either their last or next game being made.
This game is for BABIES!
YOU'RE A BABY!
@@itsame9647 you don't know the real me DAD
Small Brawl is most likely my favorite in the series right next to 2. I was never a huge fan of blacks gameplay. Is there no way to play small brawl now besides having the disc, and a ps1-3? Or do you have to have a pc now to emulate it? I kinda want to play it again now.
I emulate it! But you can still play it on PS1, PS2, and backwards compatible PS3. Sadly it has not been brought to any online store for the PS4/PS5 yet
I still have my og disc. Just lazy, and didnt want to break out the good ol ps3. Plus it certainly looks less than stellar being playedo n the ps1 disc.@@VicariousNickGaming
@@VicariousNickGaming Honestly this is one of my favorites in the series. If Sony stops screwing around and gives this franchise some love, I'd love to see Small Brawl remastered with all the cut content it originally had on the PS2. Still a bit nervous about how the TM PS5 will turn out with the new studio and (I'm assuming) limited to no single player... but fingers crossed. The TV show was actually decent, even tho it didn't look too good at first, so I'm hoping the new game is decent as well. As long as there's some single player mode I'd be happy, as I'm not a huge online gamer. Also would be cool to see David Goodrich get a kickstarter going for a Small Brawl remaster or, better yet, a sequel with new characters, levels and weapons. So much potential with kart style games. I've seen him say quiet a few times that he'd be willing to make another TM or try to have a second crack at something Small Brawl related with a bigger team and better dev cycle like a remaster, sequel, etc. Also don't know if you saw Kongdoo's video where he interviewed Jim Buck, one of the heads of TM3 and 4. Jim said he'd love to make another TM with a better dev cycle. They both seem like really cool guys with a genuine love of the series and I think they'd make a good team to get another TM Small Brawl, or even something similar, out the door. Wish more of the OG devs would do interviews but I doubt Scott Campbell, Randy Zorko, Mike Giam, etc. would want to. I feel like they would've already. Also hoping Jaffe kinda stays away from TM going forward. He just seems to care about woke political discussions and his UA-cam channel... not sure his heart's in the series anymore. Same with him and God of War. I don't think he's even worked on the last 2 or 3. Anyway sorry for the long post. Hoping we see some TM PS5 news this holiday season. A trailer or some screenshots would be cool. I hope the new TM is similar to 2,3 or Head On. Recognizable characters each in their own car, real world locations, a single player tournament with unlockables and an ending movie to tie it all together. All the best. I'll be sure to keep checking out the channel as often as I can.
18:53 Oh! So all of a sudden there are good things about TM2? You should go into politics with all the flip-flopping you're doing 😄
Just because a game is overall bad, doesn't mean it has no redeeming qualities. Also Idk if your tone is meant to come across as insulting, but it kinda is.
I have made many positive remarks towards TM2 in multiple videos on this channel. Shocking, I know.
@@VicariousNickGaming I apologize, perhaps I was being too negative. My tone was intended to be snarky, not insulting. But I can see how comparing someone to a politician could be considered an insult 😉
I've seen all those videos (I think), and all of your arguments for and against TM2 are fair - if not just straight up accurate. It's been years since I've played it myself, and I'm concerned that if I do, my memories will be tarnished by the fact that it doesn't hold up against modern game design principles. Still, I think it gets more hate than it probably deserves, although I understand the need for a punching bag within communities.
All good! Just wanted to make sure haha It's impossible to read tone over text sometimes sadly. And yeah I try not to hate on TM2 too much and give it credit where it's deserved even if overall i'm not a fan of the game @billb2338
I can't play this game
The flapping flags on all the cars are just far too distracting and annoying
Really?? I always thought it was cool haha
small brawl difficulty reminds me of the looney tunes karting game, pretty easy at first but to unlock everything ohh lord it was too much for me as a child
