"Superstructure on 4" by David Smith

David Smith went from being a welder assembling tanks in Detroit during World War II to an internationally-known sculpture. In 1960, he built "Superstructure on 4," and the Sheldon Art Museum acquired it for the outdoor sculpture garden in on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
