I owned a '72 R75/5 for 30 years and did several modifications to it to make it a "touring" bike: Windjammer 3 Fairing, 851CC kit, ported and polished the heads, high lift valve kit and non-leaded gas valve seats, swapped out the 4 speed with a 5 speed with a kick start, upgraded to an electronic ignition and 280W charging system, and welded a brace on the short wheelbase driveshaft. Loved that bike and would still have it if I had the room for it in my garage! Thanks for keeping the old BMWs on the road!! 😍
Congratulations - well done! I had the same in silver (Polaris metallic) - yours and the following with the extended swingarm. Very good and reliable bike. I love it very much.
It’s actually unrestored. It’s original aside from the things mentioned in the video. Here is a link to bid bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-bmw-r75-5-37/

Very good and reliable bike. I love it very much.
$7,600. Sounds right for a bike in this condition.😊 👍
I'd be all over that if it was in the UK.

Very well presented...... handsome motorcycle. You must miss it.
Nice job. My feelings it was the best BMW in 1975.
Australia is sort of like a state, isn't it? That bike would look very good in my shed.
Nice bike. Only the stripes on the side cover are originally in blue on the R75/5 with toaster tank Monza blue
yes this is a reproduction piece not original to the bike
What material are the standard mudguards (fenders?) made from?
Fantastic post, if it was for sale in the UK I would bite your hand off to buy
