Ah, I get it! Your fear of spaceship bathrooms is why you're always borderline dehydrated and/or starving while doing ship tours! Clever! I, on the other hand, am considering a series of video tours focusing primarily on the ships' bathrooms with a rating system based on accessibility, comfort and ease of use. I may even steal a quote from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, "The Consolidated Outland Nomad is a nice ship . . . for me to poop on!" Seriously, though, I love the Nomad. It was on my upgrade path and I flew it a lot. The orange HUD drove me crazy, though. It was annoying enough that I spent 30 or so bucks to upgrade to the C1 just so I wouldn't have to look at it anymore. It also had an overheating issue with stock components that caused it to completely lose power at the worst possible times.
I love my Nomad, but every review I see seems to overlook one particular party trick of it's that can be taken advantage of with the right components and piloting... the Nomad comes with a low power Stealth mode. The stealth mode toggle is somewhere on the right side of the avionics bar (I forget where, it's been a while since I've jumped into the verse), but you need to reduce speed to enable it, once enabled it''ll change the acceleration bar to show where you need to be to stay in stealth... so from that it's particular stealth is a combination of EM/IR reduction and the ships natural radar deflection due to it's shape. Couple that with purpose built stealth components and the Nomad is a great introduction to stealth play, be it combative... or as is my preference, to avoid combat.
Hey man. Just wanted to say how much I enjoy watching your ship reviews. Always my 1st port of call before buying something. I recently purchased a nomad purely out of curosity as its such an unusual ship. Didnt use it that much at first but recently had my cutlass black deleted in the 3.22.1 patch prob becuase i forgot to store it correctly. Such is life in SC. Anyway it kinda forced me to use the nomad a lot more especially for doing the bunker missions and its actually turned out to be a bit of a gem. The more i use it for stuff the more i like it. U can back it right up to the bunker doors and drop the back and hurl all the loot from the lift right in the back without having to worry too much where it goes as the bed seems to just catch everything. I also discovered today that it has 2 single gun racks either side of the main entrance hatch. Not a biggy i know but can be a handy place to have some pew pews in case of emergency. Not being able to access the cargo bed from inside the ship can be a bit annoying but u do get used to it. i have also found the the shields can take quite a beating before they give up on u. it could just be me but it feels a bit tougher than the stats would suggest on paper. Overall i thinks its pretty damn good value compared to others in its class. another thing i discovered is that u can actually replace the tractor beam with a single size 1 gun if needed which can actually be quite useful if u have a buddy with you while u r loading up the bed. with some of the changes that are coming with having to self load cargo in dodgy areas it could be handy against on fps threats etc. One thing i noticed on the tractor beam hud is that there is some salvaging related options that are not active or useable yet. Not sure if they have something planned for it in that sense or if its going to get removed at a later date. If anyone knows anything about that it would be good to know.
This is legitimately the only ship I enjoy ROC mining in. It can turn on a dime whenever deposits are spotted and it can land quickly in rough terrain.
Originally I picked this up to roc mine over the cutty black. I have since upgraded to C1 spirit. I haven't tried roc mining in it yet. Some factors to consider is how much time it takes to find a flat landing and how much time to get in/out when repositioning
Titan is awesome ship. unfortunately i need to give it up when im gonna upgrade really soon.but when afford buy smaller ship. def gonna buy it back with game currency.
This is easily one of my favorite ships. I started SC in Dec '22. Pledged the Titan package but a day later just couldn't resist and had upgraded to the Nomad. It's my ship of choice when starting fresh after a wipe and when I go ROC mining.
While the Titan is a good deal if you want to deal with combat, the Nomad is the ship I prefer between the two due to my personal preferences for the utility. Although I do recommend upgrading the power plant to anything that is more efficient in cooling rate or power output to avoid possible overheat issues when quantum is engaged.
I went Aurora MR, Avenger Titan, 325a, Nomad. The Nomad is the ideal starter as far as I’m concerned, and it’s the smallest ship that can fit a Nursa. (With some jank)
Great Video! One thing many people have overlooked is that the nomad has a weapons rack right beside the entrance door. Hopefully gonna upgrade my titan to this in Invictus! Thanks for the detailed video!
there's rifle racks right at the top of the ladder when you first enter the ship! It's ok, I've owned this ship for a whole month and just noticed them!
That’s Pulse looks really good with the Nomad for some reason.. Only thing I wish it had would be the ability to open the back door to the cargo bay.. That would make it so much easier to unload/load cargo and would also give more room to fit other cargo inside.. Preworkout 😂 We don’t have gyms in SC… yet…. I both like and hate this ship and I upgraded it to a different ship because the missiles didn’t work. Things that It needs is it’s quantum fuel tank and hydrogen tank should be the highest of all the starter ships because it’s meant to be a ship you can sustain yourself in without needing to refuel for long periods of time. That also means it should get a more improved air scoop. The hull hp also doesn’t make any sense. And the last gripe I have is that glass panel in front of your face as if it’s trying to be your pilot HUD. They should just get rid of that and it looks like an artifact of its concept before they made the HUD universal on every ship.
I pledged for one, and she is fantastic, it's the perfect ROC carrier, the only slight problem is being carried away when landed in a windy weather. Still, pretty solid.
never liked this ship… until the first time I tried it! now, after every big wipe, it’s the first one I buy in game. one of the best for its compact size and versatility. a must have in the hangar.
Love my Nomad, it's my go-to for ROC mining. Weird that it has such a small health pool for being so big, hopefully that gets balanced later. If there's one thing I don't like it's how it bounces on its mag-lev gear when it lands. There's a danger of it snapping off the nose gun when it does so and that's pretty annoying. Not even to keep it from being a common daily driver for me, though!
Main downside of this ship is QT fuel capacity. It means you cant use it in Pyro compare to Syulen and Cutter. Mutch better is to add 30$ and get Cutlass or Freelancer.For example, with Nomad you can run 82.58 mil km without refuel and with Cutlass you can run 229.36 mil km. What it means? Very simple in alpha 4.0 new system Pyro will be added and in this system im sure will be more expansive resourses like ores, etc but this system will have very big distances between stations so you run out of fuel very fast. If you own only this ship i reccomend to get Syulen if you dont wanna spend more its 10$ cheaper. Abd even if it cant fit ROC anyway its better option than Nomad it can travel without refuel 493.2 mil km. Yes they may rebalance this QT ammount after they add Pyro we have to see. I may be wrong but i think ships like Nomad will be locked within Stanton and cant be normaly used in Pyro.
I've always felt the Nomad is the best starter ship if cost isn't an issue for someone. Although at the price point you may as well add an extra $30 as if you're buying a modern day AAA title and pick up the freelancer or cutlass.
One important thing: the default power plant it comes with is underpowered, and the ship will randomly overheat and shut down. You need to buy a better power plant. I usually get a White Rose, they're fairly cheap at 16850 aUEC.
Even Lease, I flew this ship today on rent. Its super boring. The weapons don't work. I can't get the tractor beam to work either. And it's super hard to enter ship through the 🪜. And it's super easy for other players to loot the cargo. I thinks its better to buy the cutlass black or freelancer. But thanks for the video. Very insightful. 😊
No worries! It’s definitely a hard ship to like for some (including me), but from a stats and price point it’s still one of the better starter ships under $100. Thanks for watching hope the videos help you!

This is because CIG is selling a digital product. Thus, atleast make the buyer happy. They should add Barbie dress up approach idea to their ships. This makes SC more fun and more content for creators like you! 👍🏻😂
There is only one reason, I got rid of my Nomad and I'll tell you this, only ship that has ever made me angry for this reason. It has a screen hud in front of you when piloting the ship. With the normal paint its somewhat talerable. But with other paints it only gets worse. It really messes up your vision while piloting. Get a glare and it's worse.
I never understood why the Xian ships don’t have the hover landing gear. It would make sense since that’s like their whole thing and it would make their ships more special, especially for their costs. Really feels like a missed opportunity by CIG 🤷♂️
I got the nomad for 70 bucks during a free fly as starter pack. Unfortunately, it comes with pink skin, which imo looks ugly and jas lots of glare, but apart from that, it's an amazing ship that has given me zero issues.
The Nomad is a ship that stats wise and because of its nice interior should be a nobrainer (it's almost too good) But I just don't like the design, the open flatbed cargo and the tiny engines don't do it for me.
Nomad is a formidable single seater ship (and IMHO the last one prior the multiplayer ship tier). I always find myself in front of ASOP choosing Freelancer or Nomad, for a quick trip

NOT SO FAST. You missed something on the nomad! The nomad has a tracktor beam on the back and you can control it directly from the pilot seat. This makes it perfect to pick up cargo quickly and run away. the one thin that killed the nomad for me, is the very poor hydro fuel capacity compared with a high fuel consumption. So...flying around on a moon with your ROC on the cargoramp looking for minables...not so good.

During February this ship was on sale with the "new love starter pack" for $76USD which made it that much better of a deal.

From the knside you can actually lower the back so by the time you hop off its fully on the ground and ready to be loaded/unloaded

Love my nomad. The pilot controlled tractor beam is crazy useful for scavenging. Note: you forgot to mention the dual gun racks by the entrance.
