Just fantastic to see this attention to details and always the drive to improve even the smallest thing. It may seems overkill at times, but it secures the best possible result always. I’m the same 😊
👍 I'm actually in the middle of a little project to improve my BCDC's cooling as well, because you're right - I've also done some experimenting, and seen that it makes a very significant difference.
Brilliant justification 😆 Really like the lazer lamps I have such high quality build, think it’s worth saving a touch more and getting them if possible. Nice going. Sam
I had trouble with overheating Orion chargers as well even with massive heat sink. Didn’t want to muck around with fans so swapped one for a Redarc and kept the other.
Let me know when you organise a garage sale (I'm in Perth). I am sure you have a lot of stuff laying around your garage that would be usefully to other people's builds. :)
Lazer light bars are amazing, I have one on my Miata ... :D Tiny and compact ... Not strictly legal in Germany, but not illegal! :D I will use these spots and other Lazer lights when I do my overland build in the coming years :D
I was looking for some small floodlights for illuminating the rear of my Land Rover and the Lazer Linear 12 Elites were absolutely the best I saw, both in terms of output AND construction. Alas, the price was VERY steep - especially for what are really "secondary" lights. I've currently fitted some other lights but eventually, after a couple of months of overtime or a small lottery win, the Lazer Linears will be going on.
Now Andrew, having looked at the lines on your bull bar, taking in too consideration the breathing problems of some engines? I ,personally would consider using bar lights along those lines to provide a far more flexible approach to overland requirements and city requirements and all those in-between?
the brighter they are the worse they reflect, the best setup are good quality halogen spots for road driving with a led lightbar on roof and seperate switch for offroad
Most items he fits are gifted. He selects what he wants, then he gets in touch with the manufacturer to see if they want to be featured on the channel.
I honestly dont mind a product placement or brand ad but id like them to be clearly marked. It feels like this is a video from the brands youtube channel and even if there is different content past 4 minutes in, i wont know cause i didnt enjoy the ad-style so far. In the past i felt like there was more YOU to the decision on the product and less money to be gained from it. But maybe this is just me although some comments make me feel like i am not alone here......
So funny to her a German speaking english. And even in this case, someone speaking very fluent I can hear, w/o watching .... ah the German Electric guy.
How can it be an advertisement when (a) Andrew burrowed past the gorse in his pocket to pull out his wallet for the purchase of these spotlights; and (b) we have seen Heiner win an impromptu spotlight comparison in a video that, if I recall correctly, was posted in 2022?
Andrew how many nights have you spent in the bush in the last 2 years. Your Chanel is becoming one big add sorry that’s just how I feel When I was 16 Years old I had to the bigs spotlights come on mate.
We all want to see travel videos. But to be fair, the pandemic ruined many people plans, including andrew’s. The SA 105 had to be sold. Trips canceled. He did get out nearly as soon as restrictions were lifted. Both to collect the LR and do the Canning. The canning was a multi week trip on its own. That alone is more than most people watching this channel will do in 3 years. He’s jn SA now, purchasing, driving, and building a troopy. How different continents have you gone to lately? 😂
I agree, it’s all a bit ho hum these days. I rarely watch his vids right thru now, but he still appeals to the masses and he’s not too worried about me not watching. 😀😀
this also suggests that you prefer product videos, because Google knows you like them and suggests them to you, and not the trip videos, that you say you miss so much.
Hi Andrew, be careful adding Led Spotlights to your Africa vehicle, if you plan visiting Namibia. There are legal issues with, or the police tend to have problem with led spotlight.
- I can say with experience that blacking the lights out with tape will not get you off the hook. I did the trip last year. It’s really not worth having your license and passport taken away, then having to follow the police to the nearest police station to pay a fine that is only acceptable in cash with no receipt. If you honestly think adding lights to the roof rack are worth the 5-6 hour aggravation and time loss, Then go for it. Otherwise: if the lights are on your bumper. There’s no issue. Weirdly if you install lights on the side of your roof rack and even the rear - happy days. No issue.
Gross. LED spotlights are so awful. They take a really nice looking vehicle and make it look quite pathetic. The strange macho fascination with overly bright lights that absolutely blind oncoming traffic is completely senseless. I guarantee you that normal headlights are bright enough already. Not to mention there's something strange and alien about the quality of light that LEDs produce. Particularly blinding, particularly piercing. Morons with pickup trucks in the city drive around with their LEDs on, full blasting in regular everyday traffic, fully intoxicated on the fantasy that it makes their car "safer", while ensuring nobody around them can see anything, and I think videos like this are only encouraging them, Andrew.
True I hate 4wds coming at me with them LEDs too bloody bright blind me should be illegal or point the buggers down dudes , I won't fit them to mine , I'd rather a good heligen globe easy to replace and find them in any servo , and they don't need stupid blow fans on back that vibrated and fall apart then LEDS melt down , online to order a replacement globe in bush is perfetic if u need it same day
"normal headlights are bright enough already.'" In town, sure. In the Australian outback - -dangerous. These are used on road to prevent collisions with wild animals. That not only just kill the animals.

Those new spotlights look like they were made for that bar!
There are many overlanding you-tuber giving excellent video and improving day by day …
Enjoyable as usual! Thank you
I measured a 20% drop off in pressure differential across the radiator with little 7" spots on a hzj80. So yes, there is definitely a difference.
Just what l need for my rig, when are you going to SA and do you keep that rig locked up a night.
I'll have to say when you turned the switch on I was smiling ear to ear. Well done Andrew, well done indeed!
The spot lights are amazing
Man those new lights totally redo the front and make it look amazing, great purchase. :)
Those looks amazing

Those lights look amazing!!!!
You can also use your independently controlled rear camping light when closing a gate at night .
good to see that crative spark in you again mate,
When you’re in that white tee, you look like Benny Hill. 😀😊
Let's see them in the Field! time for a new trip!😁
Great work, always appreciate the thought you put in your builds. 👏
Nice spotlights... love them
For safety Andrew. Definitely need them for safety.
Wow, they are bloody good!
This guy cracks me up
Replaces spotties and says the old ones are going on the other build so its not so bad
Your'e right. People who like to improve things really annoy me.
Lovely Ep, Your fridge will work better without the cover to, The dcdc charger I have has a inbuilt fan its why I bought it ,
Couldn't you fit a quiet desktop PC fan (or two) in your 12V electronics compartment to help manage air flow?
Das ist Klar mann !
Sometimes you need to give into your wants! ❤
I’m excited to see the South Africa build.
Lazer Lamps are the very best. I have the Linear Elite. Fyi to Andrew, you can amend the title; it’s ‘Lazer’ not ‘Laser’.
Boys love torches !
Thank you for great video
why dont you put a switch at the back and the front for your camping/reverse light?
Hi Andrew, great video. Would mounting these high up on the roof rack work?
Heiner got you there: “I like the best stuff and that’s what I put on MY CAR! “ There was no way you weren’t buying after that challenge😂
I thought you said large spot lamps could cause overheating
Changes his mind constantly. Said lithium was rubbish and no can’t live without it even though the tech hasn’t changed
Hey Andrew , we need more adventures contents , we don’t have too much money to buy all the accessories you show us 😂😂
Then you need to watch all my videos. I do a mix. Sounds like you are missing the adventure ones.
Haha Need vs Want 😂forget about that thanks Andrew

Could you not put the dc/dc charger on the big alu plate as well?
Both dc--dc chargers are on the big alu plate. The solar changer is not. Not needed. Currents are far lower.
Now Andrew, having looked at the lines on your bull bar, taking in too consideration the breathing problems of some engines? I ,personally would consider using bar lights along those lines to provide a far more flexible approach to overland requirements and city requirements and all those in-between?
Please check the compatibility before shipping the steering wheel to SA.
Are they water proof. And what is the unbreakable defence of the lights on a scale to 10?
Are they Available in the United States?
3:18 “shut up and take my money.”
Was that a sneak peak of the center console in there?🤔🤔👍
Beats my old Lucas flame throwers 👍
Are those Lasers on par then with Baja Design or Rigid?
the brighter they are the worse they reflect, the best setup are good quality halogen spots for road driving with a led lightbar on roof and seperate switch for offroad
Hi you may or may not seen this solution for cooling dc to dc chargers
ASPW or other Aus based viewers, who makes a windscreen visor like the troopy but for an 80 series? I have searched and only find one company
How big was the discount from Lazer?
Most items he fits are gifted. He selects what he wants, then he gets in touch with the manufacturer to see if they want to be featured on the channel.
How are the brackets for the lights? In a previous episode you picked your now old lights because they had a good solid bracket.
why do you need such a lot of horns?
Have you seen the new ARB lights? 😉😂
I have. not on the same level.
Hello matey
those sqare lights you removed are designed to be spots on the roof not part part of a wide beam setup
thats why he switched them out...
ah i would o mounted them to the roof

$750 per light! Yeah but nah, I'm sure they're great but you have to be a youtuber to run those spotlights.

Dare I ask what these cost fellas ?
Google them.
It wasn't much of a twist of the arm Andrew.
Hi Andrew, be careful adding Led Spotlights to your Africa vehicle, if you plan visiting Namibia. There are legal issues with, or the police tend to have problem with led spotlight.
I have heard this. I will black them out with tape and see what happens.
