Man Tasked With Making Score for a Naked Baby In a Cave Creates Transcendent Piece of Music Mudeth is genuinely one of the greatest modern day video game composers
Hearing this properly in game is so surreal. This absolute nightmare of a floor that spams some of the worst enemies ends up becoming the complete opposite, instead of being incredibly stressful its almost relaxing to go through. I don't know how you did it, but I think you managed to redeem Flooded Caves.
Love the weird mix of tones here, foreboding and tranquil in equal measure. I feel like some people would say this is too lighthearted for Isaac, but I find the original soundtrack gets exhausting after a while because of the constant gloom, and I crave stuff like this to keep the game fresh.
Agree, I'm aware I can't please everyone and the flip side is there's space for all sorts in this world. I just like to make stuff and I"m very happy to hear that it resonates with others.
@@mudeth Your original Antibirth soundtrack was actually a huge inspiration to me for how stylistically diverse it was while still working as a cohesive unit. All I can say is to keep doing what you're already doing- it's quite unique within the VGM landscape.
Actually, I'm honestly quite fed-up with the ambiant tracks of the first three chapters... No offense to Ridiculon, and I know that it is EXACTLY what they were going for. But it just bores me for the most part, although Repentance's OST truly impressed me. I feel he improved as well. Someone said that Ridiculon's work is more fitting of a video game, while Mudeth's works perfectly on its own. I think it is why I like it better : I can see myself listening to it during my morning commute. I probably wouldn't with Ridiculon's.
You and Ridiculon both bring amazing soundtracks to Isaac. I like to see this as less of a competition of "who's music can fit Isaac better" and more of amazement that two VERY different takes on Isaac can bring their own unique and fresh flair to the game. Ridiculon did fantastic with Repentance's new tracks, and I can't wait to see how you take Repentance (especially Dogma, that'll be interesting to see how you tackle that one). Best of luck and cheers, mate!
@@mudeth Hell yeah. Maybe one day when I get more experience with Cubase I'll follow in your footsteps and try a take on Isaac. Music composition for the win
There's something about this song that screams Risk of Rain 2 to me, especially the structure and instrumentation of the first minute or so. I mean this in the best possible way, this is soo good!
In a game like Isaac where you replay different parts of the game over and over, it’s better to have a more memorable soundtrack rather than an atmospheric one. One day I was having a retrospective on the soundtrack of rebirth + dlc and antibirth. I've liked Mudeth's works for a long while. I won't lie when I say that I first found out about them when antibirth first released, like everyone else did. And back then, I couldn't really fully grasp what was great about the soundtrack, but it still amazed me because it was different and it sounded really cool. Today however, when I first heard the new volume was a thing, and I ended up on this song, I just smiled. I don't have any other explanation why, besides the song moved me.
Thank you Mudeth, for your continued work. Coming from a long-time fan, keep doing what you're doing.
Thanks very much. I will.
This is some seriously cool music.
just... wow. my favorite one so far! It's bringing me a feeling of nostalgia and some other feeling i can't describe. It also fits PERFECTLY
Absolutely brilliant work, as always. Been looking forward to your full soundtrack for a long time - can't wait for the end result. Well done!
I like this one. Sounds so cool and nice. Like you traveling through some space corridor in some fantasy rpg with technologies.
Oh man, following you on Twitter was about the only good thing to come out of that accursed platform. This is so goddamn good, can't wait for the rest!
God I know. I think I'm enjoying the music and meme twitter but then I do feel like it's a good place to get news from if you can just manage to keep yourself from FOMO.
Flooded caves was one of my most hated floors until I started playing with this soundtrack! This one is absolutely amazing and it is an absolute pleasure to listen to, thank you! It's crazy the difference music can make!
I can't believe this is not just a dream.
This is absolutely incredible, I love your work so much. Can't wait to listen to the other AB+ tracks.
i heard this song in a mattman video and legit thought there was some mod that added a risk of rain song to isaac, amazing composer 10/10
Man it's so good almost completely distracts me from the fact that I REALLY FUCKING HATE this floor.
Thank you so much for making your music. It's always just so good.
It's always interesting listening your music and hearing repeating different themes and motifs, yet it somehow all manages to sound so unique and amazing!!
This is the only reason I don't go insane while playing through Flooded Caves
this is literally your best work out of a line of masterpieces
Seeing you continue your soundtrack fills me with joy, love your work.
Hell yeah man! I was super stoked from the previews on Twitter. Can't wait to listen to all of these!
this sounds amazing dude!!!! i cant wait to hear you finish tracks for the rest of the remaining floors, i love your sound so much
I love that this track has motif of flashpoint, but in a different tone, cus' this level is basically opposite of burning basement
Can't believe there aren't more people talking about this
I'll admit I was a bit nervous when this track dropped, flooded caves being one of the few area themes from rebirth i actually liked, but like damn, it's so gooooddddddd I love the calmness in this one, plus the percussion as always is top tier. You're doing amazing stuff mudeth and we thank you for it
absolutely thrilled to see what you come out with next, the flashpoint preview on twitter was phenomenal and this sounds incredible
I was taken by complete surprise when i heard this ingame (modded), the sheer vibe of it makes the game feel like something new, like a place of danger or like you shouldnt be there.
it really adds so much, and its still really cohesive with the rest of your prior tracks. Good job finishing your soundtrack out!
Flooded caves and Downpour are my favorite floors in the game because of your music combined with the general ambience.
I was waiting for your new soundtracks for the game since i heard you will do it, and i can say the wait was absolutely worth it, great job c:
This is beautiful, I genuinely love it so much.
Woah, honestly love what you were going for here!
When i hear about antibirth, i instantly loved music from this mod. And further I started play ONLY with Antibirth music mod. Today i'm just wanna play some isaac, and i see an update for Antibirth music mod. And when i hear THIS... Oh god its so freaking cool. Thank you Mudeth, u make good music. I like original music but antibirth is number one for me.
UPD: Hello from Russia!
What’s funny is that I just found your Twitter a few days ago, this came at the perfect time. Excited for Rapturepunk!
bless your gift of making such amazing tracks
I am so excited for the full release of Flashpoint. Probably my new favorite track of yours. Much love!
First Kave Diluvii and now this, man why does Flooded Caves keep getting the best tracks
