That same alarm also can be caused by sucking up gunk and algae via the water intake.

That’s limp mode or guardian mode. Had to same thing happen to me once out on a tourney at McClure. You can start and idle back fine usually just can’t run it hard or it’ll shut off again. From my exact experience similar to yours, my motor was not able to draw oil although the oil tank was full. Turns out there was a leak of air in the tank due to not closing it properly and tightly. Took it to the shop and 300$ later, found out I just had to open it and close it again. But I’ll take that over a major motor issue any day.
Yup oil sensor went bad! Hot wiring it was the only way to confuse the computer, 300$ fix and were are back up and running.
Man, boat probably missed pops so it had to break down on ya😂 jk can’t wait to see pops new boat.

Years ago that happened to me in my 1987 champion I was by bullfrog landing call Bob's Marina they told me to check the reservoir in the motor if I had oil in it I could make it back the ladds okay
Yup checked it twice to make sure, on these newer motors they won’t allow you too run with the alarm going off they shut the motor down. 🤬
FYI, yesterday after 3pm, a boat must have caught on fire at the boat ramp . They have 2 ramp closed. I hope this won’t impact this coming Wednesday.

No official page, this is it. It’s $60 a boat every Wednesday out of Ladds starting next weeks it’s 6hr tournament rule so 3pm to 9pm
When I blew my mota out in Pittsburg. I called an Uber to pick me up and take me back to the Sherman Lake launch and my guests stayed with the boat. I think it costs me $40 bucks.

Glad you were able to temporally fix the issue. I had trolling motor problems last week and it is frustrating but part of owning boats. I always carry tool kit and a batt jumper on the boat just in case.

Haha we got a comedian here!! No hate but I’ve got over 700hr on this outboard and have only had very minor issues.
