  • Reviewing the Incredible Aprilia Tuono 660.
    In this episode of Complete Rider Motorcycle REV VIEW we look at the 2021 Aprilia Tuono 660.
    This bike blew my mind with not only it's power, torque and handling but it's slow speed maneuverability as well!
    This thing turns on a dime not only in fast corners but it will easily do full lock u-turns as well.
    Weekend Warrior and comfortable commuter all rolled into one!
    I'm in love again!

    Good to see a new Rev View! Now I know what I could potentially get after my lams period 😁 This definitely looks more like a supersport than a naked bike 😄
    I'm picking up a Ninja 400 SE tomorrow and doing my MLA on 16 November, can't wait to start the lams countdown 🤣

    Excellent review. I just got my P's and am thinking of getting this in a year once I get full license. I am also overweight, so hopefully the power jump from learner bike (Ninja 250) will be ok.

      @@CompleteRider I subbed after watching this, it was a great review. Do you think it is too much power for a freshly licensed rider?

    • @CompleteRider
      @CompleteRider  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the Sub mate.
      It will only go as fast as you twist the throttle. Seeing as your brain controls the throttle it's all up to you! I've known heaps of guys that have jumped from 250's to 1000's no problems at all. It comes down to whether you can control yourself and your ego? Simply by you asking the question tells me you will be able to handle it just fine though, you obviously are safety conscious. When I stepped up from 250cc to 600, then 600cc to 1000 back in the day I always purchased new bikes. As they needed to be run in for the first 1000 kms it gave me a chance to get used to the power. It's a great excuse because there's nothing better than a brand new bike!
      Ride safe. 😇

      @@CompleteRider Thanks for the thorough reply bro. Great to hear this insight. I should be ok with the power as I am still cautious even on my 250. Loving your reviews, looking forward to seeing more!

      @@CompleteRider Good thing I didn't try and chase 😂 The ninja is amazing! Feels smaller in size somehow, very nimble and I feel stable and confident in the corners 😁 Lots to love but I still enjoy the cbr300r's single cylinder vibration, feels raw 🤘🏻

    Nice review. I have a question: if it is such a good deal, why is it not to be found in any sale statistics?

    • @CompleteRider
      @CompleteRider  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Luc, thanks for the watch and the positive vibes. I don't know if it's a great deal but it's definitely a great bike. It cost 20K in Australia as a comparison you can get a new Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx for 19K. So it's a fair bit of coin for a 600cc 'naked' bike. That's probably the reason why there are no massive sales numbers. That and they are not easy to get with all the COVID shutdowns etc. Most buyers looking for a 600cc bike want a reasonable bike for a reasonable dollar and the Aprilia is certainly at the top of the price bracket. But there is a bike for everyone. The owner of this one is an older rider who wanted the best mid capacity bike he could buy after riding older bikes all his life and he's loving it! Trust me, even if you can't afford it, test ride one and you may decide to knock over the local 7/11 to buy it. 😂 Stay save and Subscribe!

      Aprilia also is not a large producer by any stretch of imagination, nothing to be compared to all the Japanese, or Ducati ad BMW. It’s a small company, and even in Italy, where the main manufacturing implants are located, even there they run late on sales because they can’t produce bikes fast enough. Queues were in the 6 month waiting time long.
      So that’s why they don’t appear in the top selling bikes, but even considering their limitations in Europe they are often in the top 30 in Germany, France and others. For them it’s a big achievement.

      @@lhdrones1775 Well said my man. I suspect that's why the Quick Shifter is still 'coming'! Great bikes if you want something different to the pack, with Italian 'Personality'.

      @@CompleteRider yep. That’s surely due to a huge demand. The network is not as strong as the other big brands, and they produce all the parts in Italy in 2 tiny villlages (Noale and Scorzè). I’ve seen the head quarters, it’s not even a 2 stores building, with a tiny museum attached, but an unbelievable heritage shown there, from the 125 and 250 world champions bikes, to the old RS-Cube engine (ahead of time at least 5 years in MotoGP), and to the SBK championship bikes of early 2010s.
      I may be biased, because I own one, but it never ceases to amaze me that a tiny producer like Aprilia is able to compete with the other giants in MotoGP, but they have a long tradition and a 50 years lasting research bureau with the highest knowledge in engineering and class leading testing facilities. Many of nowadays engineers and team managers, both in Motogp and f1, began their career in Aprilia Racing in their early days, the most known one being Dall’Igna (Ducati lead),
      As for a “measure” of their success in 2021 in the sole first half of the year they profited more than the 2007, the last great year before the crisis, and before being owned by Piaggio. Just an example: the top end RSV4’s sales are up by 70%. That’s mind blowing, in a segment that for the other producers has only been shrinking in the last years.
      The 660 platform also is performing well, in the top 50 in Europe, regardless for the delays in shipping and requests. In a period in which Italy has been hammered hard by covid and lockdown.
      I am maybe not objective, but I hope that Aprilia, with a good reinvestment strategy, is able to get back to be the behemoth it once were, in production, and in competitions. The path they’ve took surely looks promising. I will happily endure some discomfort with dealers and mechanic, knowing that I’m helping the company to get back on his feet.
      (To be honest I had a Shiver750, and I own a 2017 tuono, and when I lightly crashed the first one it only took them 1 week to ship me the needed replacements, so nothing to complain about)
      I hope I gave you some bits of knowledge that you weren’t familiar with, and some context.

    Consider not using music the entire video. Especially when you’re also trying to talk over it. Imo it made it hard to watch and the intensity of the music didn’t help. Some honest feedback, take it as you will.

      I think the Italian's call that 'character'! This one is 8 mths old 15,000kms with no dramas at all. Although the quick shifter is still coming! They are what they are and that's not Japanese type reliability, Ducati is no different. As long as you know what you are buying, you'll be fine and they are a great ride. Thanks for the watch.
