    One of the tips i can give is about the pillow thing, while it is soft and one would think that is it safe to assemble all the parts together on a soft surface like that, but a lot of the times that can be culprit where you can easily bent something while assembling, because of the soft surface and a lack of back pressure when putting things together, so instead put the motherboard on the motherboard cardboard box and then assembly everything together + the gpu mounting plate fits nicely into carboard side opening, so that add extra leverage for everything. But other than that, congrats on your first build you did good, and lovely to see that you chose the more challenging but interesting way of acquiring a new pc!

      And fabrics like that can generate static electricity.

    My heart when you started building on a pillow, good job though! It is always nice to see someone take that leap of faith on themselves and learn to put their own parts together ❤

    Having a pillow under the motherboard gonna make plugging in stuff so much harder, should just be a simple cloth if you dont want your motherboard on a hard surface

  • @kewtd72
    @kewtd72 Місяць тому

    You picked a great case!! Great job on your first build, everything is a learning curve. If anything just use a towel for the motherboard on a table as all that slack from the pillow you could of bent multiple pins plus you want a surface that does not create static.

    Nice build and I can’t wait to build my gaming pc one day I’m a gamer so I’ll love this gaming pc to build my own any tips on where to build it and what surface please 🙏

    Well done. The only cablemanagemt I d recommend is to put the cpu power in the back. There should be a cutout in the top left above the mainboard to get through there. Ppl raging about static electric need to chill 😂 built many pc on carpet with no damage ever

    Thank UA-cam algorithm for suggesting me this 😂. I cringed a little but over all pretty good for a first PC build. Been building PCs for over 10 years now and tinkering with them. Its a lot easier to do nowadays with plenty of content and hardware / software came along way from installing Windows 7 or XP at that matter. Plus a one like for joining the party. One thing I will mention, is it is a lot harder to have this happen but ESD or Electro Static discharge is something to be weary about and wearing sweats and or fuzzy things is generally a no no, just a heads up on that.

    Ok rose, word of advice from a computer tech. First of all you did a pretty good job for a first, i have some questions that i couldn't see in the video, but for a first time with no knowledge of PC building you accepted the task and the pc is running, that's a Victory. If you ever handle components first don't use a pillow, use a non conductive surface, like the box of the motherboard to test and troubleshooting, do not touch the components if possible while the pc is on unless you have a cable that discharges static energy, do not touch them if you're barefoot, also make sure to check the temps now that is on, from 30 to 55c on iddle the CPU should be good, also under stress the CPU should never reach 90c, specially if the room is below 20c, you did a great job with a full modular PSU and cable management is hard if you never did it but you can do it some other time, I'm sure you you applied the right amount of thermal paste, watch the temps, another thing, do not plug or unplug the HDMI when the pc is on, only the USB ports, and some wifi cards need windows drivers, I'm sure you will get the hang of PC if you watch enough videos, good job!

    yooo good job on ur build. looks very neat but cable management could use a bit of work so you dont have a bunch of cables sticking out everywhere. also a list of ur components would be nice

    Congrats, you did a great job!! There's a topic in the PC community about static charges. The Static can make some problems. But building on a pillow, you just demonstrated to everyone that this topic is over rated. My son cleaned the computer that I made for him with a cloth and the PC had all kind of issues after that. It didn't kill it since I removed the static from the motherboard and the computer is running great again. But I want to thank you and I will use your video as a point every time someone is making static charges a topic. Great job, it's very stressfull to build a computer for the first time but you will wan't to build an other one very soon. Again, congratulationson your build.

    Make sure to update the BIOS, the CPU you have is impacted by Intel's faulty microcode.

    I built a pc at the start of the year and it was pretty easy. The hard part was the fact it didn’t have WiFi software so I had to buy a usb c drive because I had a MacBook and then figure out the bios works

      Yeah I saw that she got the i9. So either a 13900k or 14900k. She will be replacing that processor sooner rather than later. She should have went with Ryzen 7000 series.

    OK, Your 1st Mistake was placing your New Motherboard on a Pillow!! WTF?? Use the Motherboard Box, to Build your Platform. 2nd Mistake, you chose Intel instead of AMD!!

    • @michaeloneill1360
      @michaeloneill1360 Місяць тому

      Most of the 'Reliable How to Build a PC' Videos show the Builder building the Platform: Motherboard, CPU, RAM & NVME Installation while the Motherboard sits on top of the Motherboard Box! It's a Miracle you didn't 'Short Out' your Motherboard & Components from possible 'Static Discharge' from the Pillow!! Other than that though, Good Job on your 1st Build, you got a Successful Post, Your PC is Up & Running & you're Happy with the Results! And Finally Welcome to the Club!!!
