It's always fun to hear from your wifey. I am an "aunty" (aka older female) who grew up in Singapore and I think her voice is so cute and charming with that S'porean accent.
The Xiang Ji Lor Mee at 01-81 has better Lor Mee. At $5, you get a whole egg & a big portion of fried fish meat. The lor gravy is also more flavourful.
Personally, i love Lorong Ah Soo Lor Mee at Hougang Hainanese Village FC which operate from 12noon to 3.30pm daily except Mon & Tue. Every mouthful is delightful.
One of the worst toilet before the reno; now slightly better. The floor is still often wet because hawkers are seem washing their feet in front of the sinks. Hose left below the sinks for cleaners to wash the toilet but has been abused.
Easier to film at I think because more space and open area. But tbh it's hyped up so much as overrated that I think it gets too much hate. It really isn't bad because there's also a lot of halal options compared to other hawker centres
Both Lor Mee stalls at Tiong Bahru Market are worth trying! On a side note, I'm surprised you didnt try the white pepper crab at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre!
@ryoheisteveaoki2463 then you should try Amoy Chendol at chinatown and golden mile. That one is just all right...last time we had it(long before they got the Michelin thing) it tasted meh...we didn't even finish it.
My favourite hawker too! I really like the ikura mee pok too. The noodles are nice and vinegary for my taste. There's so much good food around that you need days to finish trying them all! There's a fish/seafood soup that's really good too. And a soup stall near the end of the 2nd row that serves yummy soups as well. I also like the hokkien mee, satay, wu xiang, oyster omelette, claypot rice, otah, BnR coffee, curry puffs, beancurd.... The list goes on! I'd say almost all the stalls i tried are good! Actually I could pick out so many other stalls as well. If I stay there i would be spoilt for choice!
Bring back Uncle Jimmy as a guest please! I'm so glad I watched your video BTW, I went twice at night and did not have a good experience... I guessed that I tried all the wrong stalls, and this has proven me right 😂
My favourite Lor mee (71 Lor Mee) is at Bukit Merah view hawker centre. I stay at Bukit Purmei and the Blk 109 used to have the best Lor mee in Singapore but because owner is old and the shop closed down and afterwards, I found this Bukit Merah view hawker centre’s Lor mee closest in taste to the one at Bukit Purmei.
Hi Ghib,, wah that Lor mie looks so oishi,, i ate lor mie long time ago amd i didnt like it,, i havent been to old changi airport too, that me pok oishi so ne,, wah tabetai ne that kwetiau too, i like,,, Thks for the vlog Ghib Huat Ah,, 👍😎,,
I stay at Bukit Purmei, the Lor mee at our side closed down because owner too old and nobody to pass on, but I found the closest in taste at Bukit Merah view Hawker centre. It’s call 71 Lor Mee. The taste is similar.
It wasn't closed 4 months for cleaning. It was renovated and upgraded. It's one of the few hawker centres that has most stores opened for dinner as well. Roast Paradise and Minced Pork Bros are owned by the same guys. That lor mee tasted average in my opinion. That Tiong Bahru one is more popular I think. I think you can go and film multiple times as there are too many good food there. You should have gotten some western food to try they have some higher priced items in their menu. A couple of very good and popular western food stalls there as well.
This loh mee has changed hand. The previous owner has sold the business. There are so many franchise stalls now. Standard drops thereafter and the queue disappears.
ジブオジ夫婦様 ご無沙汰してました。 私的には此処のフードセンターが好きです。チキンライスの店はイマイチですが、それ以外は堪能出来ます。 Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee (Old Airport Road Lor Mee)
XMX lor mee is not the same since the OG chef and owner no longer there. They are currently owned by partnership and has numerous stalls across SG. The taste is not the same as before, no longer nice hence no queue.
Ghib OJISAN. Good morning 🌅 to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Have you tried any of the Singapore 🇸🇬 sweet desserts : CHENG TNG, PANDAN CHIFFON CAKE, CHENDOL, DURIAN PENGAT, PULUT HITAM, ORH NEE, …….etc….. 🤔🤔🤔😋😋😋
XMX Loh Mee. has lost its original flvs, perhaps that is y no Q now. Singaporeans v sharp & spoilt for choice. For people like me who has been eating the XMX Loh mee for more than 20rs, we can taste the dif instantly. this gravy is different & no more fresh fried fish. 1st they changed their fresh fried fish to boil fish, then now to battered fried fish. Jiang Ji Loh mee , few stalls away is better now. Their taste is similar to the old XMX Loh mee. Even the Tiong Bahru Loh mee behind XMX is better, i always add on for the fresh fried fish. you can do a series to compare.
Xin mei xiang lor mee is overpriced and over rated. The sisters working there has moved over to other branch. Xiang Ji has the best lor mee at old airport hawker.
You always say you'll spend $100, but never do. Maybe lower it to $50. $100 gets you 12 - 15 dishes. I look forward to watching your weight gain. There's Ghib at 250lbs. 275, 300... 🐷😂
dont understand why you have to use disposable cutlery (a pack of new chopstocks for every different dish) and containers (especially the plastic container from the fishball noodle stall), especially when you are dining at the hawker centre. singapore doesnt have the same recycling system as japan.
It's always fun to hear from your wifey. I am an "aunty" (aka older female) who grew up in Singapore and I think her voice is so cute and charming with that S'porean accent.
I am going to Singapore in December! I am excited to try this! Thank you 😊
Enjoy your trip and the food!
That lor mee looks damn good man, massive cravings now!!!!
The Xiang Ji Lor Mee at 01-81 has better Lor Mee. At $5, you get a whole egg & a big portion of fried fish meat. The lor gravy is also more flavourful.
Yes agreeedctotally
The old ones opposite nit good change owner china maybe
Personally, i love Lorong Ah Soo Lor Mee at Hougang Hainanese Village FC which operate from 12noon to 3.30pm daily except Mon & Tue. Every mouthful is delightful.
Ngl Ghib Ojisan make singapore doesn't look small as it is XD so much interesting food and views in singapore
Ru Ji and Paradise Roast are the good ones that continue to attract queues.
XMX Lor Mee has many branches now, it has lost its early years taste. I went last week to try out the food, nice place with loads of yummy food.
I just went there after the upgrade too. The toilets are the cleanest Ive seen for Sg hawkers 👍🏻👏👏 Nice video!
Yeah the toilets are so much better!
Prob not for long 😂
One of the worst toilet before the reno; now slightly better. The floor is still often wet because hawkers are seem washing their feet in front of the sinks. Hose left below the sinks for cleaners to wash the toilet but has been abused.
Omg...the Lor Mee is calling out to us 🤤🤤
3:21 when he said there is one dangerous area in Singapore, i was expecting Yishun.. 💀
Yishun is basically our Ohio 💀💀
Ngl, I never got why Newton Food Centre gets so much media and cultural attention when you have places like Old Airport Road and Beach Road
🤫
Easier to film at I think because more space and open area. But tbh it's hyped up so much as overrated that I think it gets too much hate. It really isn't bad because there's also a lot of halal options compared to other hawker centres
@@doodoofard69 shhhhh
1 factor is probably location - hotels clustered around Orchard Road in the 80s/90s, and Newton is close.
Old Airport Road comparatively is quite far.
Singapore has so many interesting places with delicious foods and beautiful views
Definitely, I’m always trying to find the best places to eat and see in Singapore.
Both Lor Mee stalls at Tiong Bahru Market are worth trying!
On a side note, I'm surprised you didnt try the white pepper crab at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre!
7 dishes in 1 seating, good job!
I’m trying to fit in as many as I can 😅
Glad you like the local food here in Singapore!😊😊
I'm always happy to find new and delicious food spots in Singapore!
The Xin Mei Xiang loh mee has definitely lost out to the other stall which sees long queue especially during weekends.
I visited Old Airport Rd Food Centre 3 weeks ago and Chendol was amazing.
@ryoheisteveaoki2463 then you should try Amoy Chendol at chinatown and golden mile. That one is just all right...last time we had it(long before they got the Michelin thing) it tasted meh...we didn't even finish it.
@@simplyme3306 If I have a chance to visit Singapore, I will try it! Thanks!

@@GhibOjisan The herbal seafood/fish soup is just opposite pho me. I think you will like it.
Thank you for this video. It reminded me to go there for the fantastic Lor Mee & Char Kway Teow
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy them!
Look for that size of the fish balls super size and freshness. The noodles are cooked just in time
Didn't know Old Airport Road hawker centre reopened recently. Excited to go back 😊
That's why you can eat so many dishes and it's so worth it under a hundred bucks. If it's lau pa sat, over spent already
Bring back Uncle Jimmy as a guest please! I'm so glad I watched your video BTW, I went twice at night and did not have a good experience... I guessed that I tried all the wrong stalls, and this has proven me right 😂
Try J&J Special beef noodle next time!! It’s really nice too
I need to come back to Singapore
Yes one of the best, there's peranakan vegetarian stall
Do try J & J Special Beef Noodle! They have wagyu beef rice at an affordable price!

If the standard for the Loh Mee is still the same, then why no queue ?😅
Agreed, there is a valid reason why no q.
This loh mee has changed hand. The previous owner has sold the business. There are so many franchise stalls now. Standard drops thereafter and the queue disappears.
had it recently...tasted so-so
Maybe too hyped up. Expectations went up. It's just a decent bowl of lor mee. Good but not mind-blowingly good.
So so oni 😢
You should try the Torico Kway Chap there, there is also another western food which is famous for their garlic sauce!
Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🇸🇬
After this vlog, there will be a queue for Lor Mee. At $6, that portion is value for money.
Can visit the Ru Ji Kitchen stall at Holland Drive food centre, the boss is normally at Holland Drive.

Western BBQ is my go to for pork chop. The best in my opinion 😊
The Lor mee bowl so full? Is this an ad?😅
Usually, I prefer to look for fish ball dry noodle separated with soup given and not all in soup dish.
XMX lor mee is not the same since the OG chef and owner no longer there. They are currently owned by partnership and has numerous stalls across SG. The taste is not the same as before, no longer nice hence no queue.
Absolutely correct....the other stall has better lor mee. Standard of XMX lor mee is jus so so now!
Tiong Bahru Market also 4.3 stars lei. Lol
What keyboard do you use? Looks good!
Don’t miss out “Salt”, my go to fried chicken in that area.
Eat until Lao Sai 😂😂😂😂😅 improvise so quickly for the wet exercise seat👏🏻

Chinese style, SG better 😋
Where is the bean sprouts for pho?
Did you get the bbq chix wings. Yummy
Lor new is super super shiok there. Changi village was my fave too
Japan foods VS Singapore foods!!
One thing bad about sg hawker food is that there are very little veggies - the frequent customers become very unhealthy
Roast pork stall quite good. Nothing wrong
You look totally like Singaporean now , love your videos so so so much ❤❤❤
