- The 5 inch deadcat version of the TanQ is almost here. Unfortunately, we had to reorder the new arms, because of a mistake the manufacturer made. But, the new, 5 inch deadcat arms will be available very soon in the Rotor Riot store.
I was able to fly about 4 packs before the Florida Summer Rain, and I am very impressed with the o3 Air Unit in this frame.

The footage was recorded directly to the onboard o3 air unit's internal hard drive, in 4k/60 with no nd filter.
3d print files are available on my Thingiverse.com/LetsFlyRC
and you can purchase them at RotorRiot.com or at noozle3d.com if you don't have your own 3d printer.

Everytime you show up on rotorriot i get hyped. Genuinely you are one of the coolest people in the fpv industry. Its less about being the best "freestyle pilot" and more about your incredible maker skills and engineering. Keep up the great work you do man. Im definetly pick up a tanq! Cheers man!

yo that powerloop to the second floor @1:15 was dope!!! I had my first real 150ft drop crash on the Tanq Frame, Not a scratch! The ground had a small crater though!

I gotta be honest Shaun. I absolutely love the Tanq as my first 5 in quad as I continue to grow as a pilot. One issue I always had with this drone is that after every crash, the props smash into the LED race strip and would fry it. After plenty of crashes cutting my flights short I had to cut them out completely. Other than that this is an amazing design thank you.
Bummer about the light strips. I’ve broken the LEDs occasionally, but, never had that render the quad unflyable. The traces are pretty thick in that racewire. Sorry it gave you trouble.
@@LetsFlyRC it happens you live and learn, like I said I absolutely love this quad and your design once I removed the strips. It’s definitely durable and an absolute beast! Much respect to you sir !

My tanq has been flawless. A slightly thicker top plate as an option would be awesome. Toughest quad I have by far. I literally beat the crap out of this thing. It is not afraid of concrete and steel at all. Meant to be sent...

Got my Tanq and got my Skyliner. Both fly amazing, but my Tanq gets 5 to 8 minute flight times while my Skyliner gets 3 😝.... and my Tanq weighs an extra 100g. Both absolutely rip. Wide arms of the skyliner give it different flight characteristics. Love these things aha.
Any chance we can look forward to a LetsFlyRc spec 7" or 8" Tanq for sale in the future? Wanna build me one? Haha. Thanks Shawn!
Fly Without Fear until you hit something at Mach one and do that death walk to the accident site. Lol Have 2 TANQs I built with the video build on Rotor Riots Channel. They were my first complete builds and they turned out perfect. It got me past the learning curve of Beta Flight. I'm 62 this year and have flown everything since 1976. Let's Fly RC is the absolute reason why I have continued to build and get better at flying!

The great parts is the arms are swappable, so, if you already have a TanQ, all you need is the arms. :). I recommend running the batteries std mount with 2 battery straps, though, because the front props line up with the battery when toilet tank mounted. I will make a video about it when they finally get here. The first batch of arms got messed up by the manufacturer. ;/

Here’s the thing, the purple and green skin was a turn off for most at first, but slowly it grows on you.. I think we may see a massive increase in the TANQ because of the colors now… The durability is just a plus
i only have one question. Why did it take so long for you to think up this frame! hahahaha i have the tanq and it's amazing. i drilled holes and put a 20x20 stack in mine. i also re designed the monster demibot feet to fit the tanq and made some wrap around printable arm guard protectors so the feet & armguards all look like they are one piece. i also re desgined the gopro session mount to make it double thick so it will not rip off the quad in a crash. you can see all this on my channel. i crash the tanq multiple times every day flying 3D and it has not broke anything yet. this is my dream quad! So glad you are loving the TanQ.
Unfortunately, 4.4 is glitchy, so, we haven’t committed to it, yet. Still working on 4.5 when it proves to be solid

Yes. The arms already arrived, but there was a mistake with the manufacturer, so, we had to re-order. Should be on the way, already. Hopefully, in the store really soon

I see no disadvantage, looks like it still performs great! On mine BF 4.4 default pids are great on it. But Im guessing you miggt have to up the pitch pids abit
Same tune I use for the std version. I’m not that picky about tuning, though.
The only disadvantage is the camera cage is the first thing to hit. So, even though it protects the camera very well, it starts looking all dented up, after a few good hits.
Another reason I was asking about the x8 is for a 7 inch does it drain the battery the same or more or less?

Will the dead cat arms fit on the Tanq I have now? Or would I need a whole frame for them?
Yes. They will fit. Everything is backwards compatible

And did you ever have any problems cutting batteries with the toilet tank method?
@@wyattdenbow7166yes. The x8 is possible, I haven’t built one with the tanQ, because there wasn’t a real advantage of doing it.
Yes, I have cut batteries with the toilet tanQ and regular mounting, as well. It depends how hard you crash, and if you did a good job strapping it down.
I have a new rubberized strap coming soon that should solve most battery ejections.
