We were absolutely ECSTATIC when LSU made the right call and made you interim coach and then besides ourselves when they named you permanent head couch!! We knew you were exactly what LSU needed! Congrats on all your family’s successes and many thanks to God for pulling Kelly through! Hubs and I are McNeese grads and took our boys to tailgate at LSU since they were knee high to a grasshopper. I grew up in west Texas and have basically been in some part of Texas my whole life. My brother and I have always rooted for only Texas teams. Except he "kinda liked" LSU. I never agreed with him. At all. Don't remember if it was past coaches, fans, or players that turned me off, but I just knew I didn't like them. Didn't even know much about the people in that part of the country, but no way was I going to root for them.
But, when LSU beat the Longhorns earlier this year, I watched a postgame interview with this guy, which I never do, and man I couldn't help but like him. Have seen him a few more times, and now seeing his family situation...well, just seem like good people.
Please don't tell my brother, but LSU, at least for now, may just be a team I'll root for when my teams aren't playing.

I has the same surprise after emergency surgery for diverticulitis. It is devastating. Being from PA, I knew nothing about this. I'm sure Paul Finbaum. talked about it. My prayers for Kelly and the whole Orgeron family. Congratulations to Mrs. Orgeron for summoning up the strength to overcome this and congratulations to Coach O on a fabulous season. The team never got flustered when Alabama was coming back. I'm a Gators fan, but I'll be pulling hard for LSU to get that trophy. Go SEC>

As an LSU fan and a Coach Orgeron fan, I will be polite in saying this. My wife is within her second month of recuperation from having surgery to remove a very rare form of cancer. This has left her with a permanent colostomy and despite what people think, it isn't as difficult as some see it nor is it appalling as people tend to view it. It's just different. That's all.

@@captainamericaamerica8090 I told a friend that the roars sounded like a tiger, and they laughed at me. When I was a child I used to walk to Mike the Tiger's cage at LSU. I could hear him roar (especially at feeding time) from my grandmother's house as she lived very close to campus. I've also been to a lot of zoos and heard lions. Thanks for the information.
