Well I would imagine it’s a lot more chill when you are not doing back to back charters like constantly changing guests dojng tight fast schedules this will be a much more relaxed paced as it’s an owner only vessel
Having followed you for years, this is some of the best content you’ve made! Proper boat, beautiful locations and chilled but professional vibe. Keep up the great work Sir. 👍🏽
I think it's very nice of you, Tristan, to clearly show here that you miss your family. Respect for that... Otherwise, of course, another very cool video.
The locations are stunning, lucky you! How civilised are the guests, siestas just make you feel better 😊 My ❤ is with sailing ships, but I like your boat as she's an Explorer, not a gin palace. I used to live where Princess Yachts are built so used to seeing those. Also used to have to check Richard Bransons transatlantic record breaker yacht. Saw the last Brittania Yacht refit before HM Queen had to let it go. Had a tour, amazing! Once had a super yacht rotting in a basin as the engines blew up (owner insisted on wrong engines). Sat for nearly 10 yrs before eventually sold.😂 Saw quite a few superyachts being built where once upon a time there were warships.
Ahhh.. So magical with everything humming along as it should, perfect seas and weather before the Midwatch! Something so satisfying about that setting all is right with the world heading off toward sunrise.
It’s so nice to have you back and controlling a yacht again. I love your editing making it into a calm and interesting “slow TV”. I kinda missing “the crew” interactions we saw at AWOL, but I guess that we saw a hint of a beginning today.
I gotta say that as much as I've enjoyed past videos, this one was the best. I fantasize about being an owner-operator, but this episode made me aware of things I wouldn't have considered. So a modestly crewed yacht will be my fantasy. 😂 Great to have you back at the helm. Gold standard!!
First night underway on the new boat and it's picture perfect. I miss sunsets and sunrises at sea. Perfect with the islands around. Thanks for sharing.
Cruising on MV Oceana P&0 a few years back passing Stromboli like you as the Sun was rising. A few shipmates came on deck for a view saw a bright red and yellow flash followed by an almighty bang as it erupted, we all legged it. Glad your back in the saddle be safe.
Absolutely love these videos. As someone who has been on the water all his life and started as a cadet in the merchant navy all the bridge navigation and voyage info really makes it perfect. The boat herself is beautiful to. You have made a great decision to leave the constant charter in the Med and branch out to a true expedition yacht.
I echo the thoughts of others Tristan, it’s great to have you back at the helm and as always you make your videos so enjoyable, AWOL was a beautiful boat but E S is stunning, a truly well built vessel no expenses to much to create a boat to a very high standard, she oooozes quality and l am in no doubt is the reason you decide to become master again
I really enjoyed watching Yours & Gems exchange with you as a potential cruise client. We’re definitely considering using y’all to book our next cruise after we complete the ones we already booked. Glad you’re back Captain Tristen, you’ve been sorely missed!!! In the spirit of your Ship’s name, En Nomine Patris, Et Filli, Et Spiritus Sancti, Amen 🙏 #godblessu #godblessus #godblessusa
The More I take in your New Ship the More I appreciate how Nice she is a lovely Ship I Understand Why you took the Job on Her Great Vlog Captain thanks
🦘🇦🇺 Thank you so much Tristan for taking us on board for an amazing day of discovery. Paint me green with envy; you get the most beautiful scenery, sunrises & sunsets. Looking east from where I live on the coast, across the Tasman sea I get it. 🛟🙏
That "supervised" exclusion zone is unsurprising, since Stromboli's July '24 eruptions have resulted in at least one pyroclastic flow that reached the sea.
Mid-eighties we were cruising from our home Genova to Eolie and Sicily, on our family Hatteras, stopping (too) near Stromboli shore to take a swim. A small eruption actually threw rocks at us, too close for comfort! We hauled up our anchor and left quickly the area. It was 40 years ago and Coast Guard wasnt as proactive as they are now. A nice little adventure and some big laughing after a small scare. Sweet memories. Keep up e vento in poppa, Captain!
I love Italy and watch a lot of videos from Italy. Mostly properties for sale. I'm getting the lay of the land, but I had no idea there was another volcano off the coast of Calabria, which is the province covering the instep and toe of the boot of Italy. I remember sailing to Japan in the spring of 70, and we could see Mt. Fujiama from at least 50 miles out, and it grew slowly as we steamed in at a slow 6 knots. What a sight! Ciao! 😊
Love your channel so great to see you back on UA-cam Captaining if that's a word 😂, I wish you well and fair winds, I'm a regular viewer, keep it,coming. Beautifully done
When we got back from our cruise of the Pacific and Indian Ocean, we had bodyarmour and night-vision glasses left over after dumping the arms. Sailing past Stromboli while she was active at night was amazing with the glasses on. May be worth buying some old NATO ones for guests.
I'm always intrigued how these boats are kept in such good order, clean and free of salt water damage. They look spotless for the most part. Must take a lot of constant effort.
Hi Tristan, nice new boat. Not8hing is better than a long range (trawler) yacht 🙂; Cut8tenrly we ar at the Amalfi coast . last month I was at the Stromboli at the day when the last big mountain slide happened. Good travel and have fun with your new vessel..... Greetings MY SISU
Love your videos 👍🏻 And this boat is a much more interesting one than Awol. You really made a good choice on this one👌🏻😃 Hope to see you along the Norwegian coast some day😁
As much as I loved your videos aboard AWOL, the back to back charters probably does get old. I can't wait to see the adventures you'll get into at the helm of Espiritu Santo!
Now that you have had more time to learn all the yachts systems, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts and comparison to AWOL, which probably had little bit more modern and different systems on the bridge.
What I'd give to do this. I've captained my own 58', but nothing like this. I would embrace the challenge. Wait, is that a CRT monitor? Might be time for a helm update. Costly, but worth it. A glass bridge would be beautiful there.
Captain, I absolutely love your videos. The food is always fun to watch. I know what MY, SS, TB etc., stands for, but what does TT stand for? God bless and smooth sailing from Colorado.
Please do a video on your new crew! We've only seen a tiny bit of Keenan and Morgan so far, and nothing yet of Pearl. In particular, I'd like to hear how the responsibilities divide up with only four crew members rather than eight.
I remember a song from my youth that went "on top of Stromboli, all covered with cheese....". I take it that ole Stromboli must've blown the cheese off the top since then?
I'm from New Zealand and thought I saw a NZ flag flying on your boat. I enjoy your videos. Thank you. Keep an eye out for a NZ couple heading your way. They have a Nordhavn Yacht called Aranui NZ. Brand new out of Turkey. They are making their way back to NZ over the next 3 to 5 years. They have a You Tube channel called Aranui NZ.

A question I have being dying to ask a mariner. A bolt of lightning strikes the boat and destroys every electrical system onboard, but the engines are still working, also no hydraulics work. Would you be confident enough to continue navigating and steering to your destination?
No electrics and hydraulics is basically a dead ship.(Ignoring specifically designed ships like sail boats or ones with according backups) Especially because modern engines need elec. power.

I gotta say, as much as I enjoyed your AWOL content, I've been enjoying this content even more. It is good to see you back at the helm.
I think the same. Now he is captain of a real ship not a boat anymore. Nice!
I agree, this is better, feels more down to earth or should I say Sea. Enjoying watching.
You come across as more relaxed on this boat than the previous one, great video also.
Well I would imagine it’s a lot more chill when you are not doing back to back charters like constantly changing guests dojng tight fast schedules this will be a much more relaxed paced as it’s an owner only vessel
It's a lot smaller with less crew to supervise. Technically, at only 31.7 meters it's not a superyacht.
@@johnargus9081Yes it is. A super yacht is a boat over 24 m.
Having followed you for years, this is some of the best content you’ve made! Proper boat, beautiful locations and chilled but professional vibe. Keep up the great work Sir. 👍🏽
Content on AWOL and on this new Ship is way more pleasing than the other stuff. You seem way more satisfied working as captain.
I think it's very nice of you, Tristan, to clearly show here that you miss your family. Respect for that... Otherwise, of course, another very cool video.
These are amazing. Love the format. Love the love to the family. Love that you are able to experience a bit of the destinations.
Whew, they picked a bad day to sleep in. That looked like a gorgeous place to swim.
Really loving this content and the new boat.

Very enjoyable - this is such a very beautiful yacht. Traditional and sturdy.
Wow! An absolutely classic Med yachting itinerary on a classic yacht. Breathtaking views, and it looks like you’ve got the weather, too. Thank you!
Ahhh.. So magical with everything humming along as it should, perfect seas and weather before the Midwatch! Something so satisfying about that setting all is right with the world heading off toward sunrise.
Loving these! That bridge is fantastic.
Yes, I think a private yacht suits you better than a charter boat. You come across as less stressed. Good stuff.
It’s so nice to have you back and controlling a yacht again.
I love your editing making it into a calm and interesting “slow TV”.

Beautiful compassess along with pens in stand ready for manual chart work. Nice.

Thanks for all your efforts, love these cruising videos. Very jealous 😂
That was sooo nice to watch. I really like this vessel, it oozes a type of comfort and unhurried style. Looking forward to you next episode. Carl 🇦🇺

Maungaturoto, New Zealand.
You even get paid to travel around to all the scenic places! Bonus!
Pretty cool going by a volcano even if your outside an exclusion zone and the thing is pumping out an ash cloud
Great video. Extremely well edited, btw. Wow.
Thanks for an interesting video.
That tender looked close to the ground!
Enjoy each video.

We have seen Stromboli erupting big in March 2021 after passing Messina going Napoli. Brilliant
Very cool, have rader and all gear. Would use radio all time if was rockie.
Your like Zulu, Captain Kirk and Scotty all in one 😂😂😂
Been to Pantelleria several times. Use to have relatives there. Still have friends.
Great video.
Interesting. Thanks
Wow, what a nice surprise. My ancestor Pedro Fernandes de Queiros bestowed the name Espiritu Santo , as well.
I hope you get to take the yacht to the Americas!
Nice binoculars, been looking for new bino's and they keep popping up in my feed. Bit out of my price range though.
Like the new content very much.
Good to have you back where you belong
Incredible perks of the job. Weird out of the wall question. Since your moving often how does the crew get hair cuts?
😂 great question, when we stop in the Marinas.
Glad your back behind the wheel house,, Does the Crew not want to be filmed?.. theres only 3 of them,, cheers from Alaska

Thank you, I prefer north up because of traditional paper charts are always North Up
Good video 👍

What are those circular things in the front windows of the wheelhouse? Vents/antennas?
For some strange reason whenever you say "stromboli" I get the urge for Italian food.
