Solo Hiking Olympic National Park | High Divide - Seven Lakes Basin

- Rainforest, alpine lakes, mountains, and glaciers. This was a 2-day backpacking trip of the High Divide - Seven Lakes Basin Loop. To experience its stunning wild beauty through sunrise and sunset, reminded me why I love to backpack. This was the second time I did this loop. The first trip was about eight years ago and the rain and clouds obscured the views. This time, I got lucky with exceptional weather. It was as if I hiked it for the first time as everything seemed new.

Thanks for watching.

As I finished this short trip through this scenic and wild place, I thought "I wish I could thank all of those who fought to preserve this special place so I and others could have this experience." Spaces like these allow us to escape our daily lives and reconnect with nature. Our spirits are better because of it.
I really enjoyed your silent hiking video and the music you chose as well. Well done.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback. All the best! -Cascadia
That shot of you retrieving water at the end of day 1 was exquisite. Great composition and framing. May these places remain unspoiled eternally.
Thanks John, funny story about that shot as it wasn't planned. I found a camp up high with good views for sunset. Unfortunately it had no water source and I was out of water. I spotted that pool of water which was about a .25 mile down a side trail. Just as I was about to get the water, I noticed the sun was setting. I quickly set up the camera for that clip. When I got home to look through all the footage, it turned out to be one of my favorite clips of the trip. Sometimes, unplanned events turn out to be the best ones. Cheers!
W❤️W! That’s Incredibly Awesome! Cheers for more exciting and breathtaking adventures!🥂❤️✨
Thanks Juan, like you I'm looking forward to more adventures. Cheers!

Another beautifully shot and edited video! Love the lush terrain!
Thanks for the comment Summit Seeker. The Olympics are something else. As much as I love the high up places, I find the forests there every bit amazing. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback Thara's Diary. Glad you liked it!
Another great video. ONP is such a special special place. There’s nothing in the US that’s like it. That sunset you had night one too - WOW! What a special night.
Thanks @tweedytreks. I agree about ONP being a unique place. Yep, that sunset was memorable. I'm glad I had my camera to catch it. Looking forward to seeing more of your treks. Happy trails!
@@cascadiahiking thanks brotha. Same!
Excellent video! I'm considering a similar trip in early June if the snow melts enough! Looks like beautiful scenery!
Thanks Charles, it is truly beautiful. Enjoy! If you are able try and target good weather. I've done it in good and bad weather. If good weather, it is amazing!
Nice vid, looks like you went the opposite direction of me. Cool to a see it form a different perspective
Yeah I wanted to hit the high divide at sunset. I have to hit you up next time I head to the peninsula. What a place you have in your backyard. Cheers!
I really like your videos and gear choices.
Thanks Snail Trails. I appreciate that! I'll be doing a new gear list video later this year to go over some changes that I've made this year. Cheers!
@@cascadiahiking oh great I can’t wait to see what you have changed. I’m about to hike the JMT sobo starting Oct 2 and I can’t wait to use my Sony A7C with my 20mm prime lens.
@@JasonSnailer I hiked part of the JMT some years back. Absolutely, spectacular. Have fun. That's a great setup, I use it for about 99% of my clips.
Great video!! Been thinking about doing a similar trip. How busy were the trails? Did you come across a lot of other people?
Hi @joecondit856, I did the trip on a Mon-Tues which I'm sure helped. It's a popular route as you probably know. I'd imagine the weekends would see a lot more "hikers" doing the route in one day along with the backpackers doing a multi-day trip. If you're able, I'd shoot for during the week. While I did come across others, it never felt overwhelming. Hope that helps!
He who follows the Tao
is at one with the Tao.
He who is virtuous
Experiences Virtue.
He who loses the way
Feels lost.
When you are at one with the Tao,
The Tao welcomes you.
When you are one with Virtue,
The Virtue is always there.
When you are at one with loss,
The loss is experienced willingly.
He who does not trust enough
Will not be trusted.
He who trusts himself fully is one with nature.
