I'm not even a fan of the cougars but I was at this game with a highschool friend when I was 15. I've been to LSU games and idk if I've ever been to a college football game with more energy in the air as this one.
+L.A W. I was there, will never forget it. However, no one ever says that TT could have won that game had their coach, Mike Leach, ran the ball more during the game and even at the end. UH couldn't stop the run that year, even if TT didn't advance, they would have at least ran more time off the clock and made our comeback impossible. Btw, the stadium this game was played in was torn down for TDECU to be built. No more grass or palm trees.
This is why I love this sport called College Football games like these when the underdog team wins at home and their crowd goes nuts say what you want about a team but a win is a win......GOOD WIN COUGARS!
And you guys had the best game of your lives against TT and OKie St. But no hate, you guys played well and got the W against us. We'll be waiting for you guys next year. Hope your ready.
...yep that's what EVERYONE is not realizing!!! UH is a very young team several sophomores and true and redshirt freshman STARTING and playing key roles for the COOGS!!! our team is so young and inexperienced, yeah just wait till next year!! GO COOGS!!!!
From a Texas Tech fan, I always hate to see my Raiders lose, but great come back and win! Houston is on the right track to do great things this season, I smell BCS if ya'll can go undefeated in conference play. Wreck 'em Tech!!!
This was a hell of a game and houston deserved that win. I live and die Oklahoma State but I had to give this one to houston. I rank this game right up there with 2007's Kentucky Vs LSU
I see this as such belief, not because of the cougars, but because of what we were capable of. We were capable of scoring 40 on you but our offense couldn't do anything against you D, which was very surprising, and your offense got the ball last (Just like TT against UT last year), and won it on the last drive. You played well, but don't fall down. You keep winning and it will still help Tech. haha. So. Go Red Raiders and Go Coogs!!!
...yep that's the thing, UH can't have any more slip ups like the utep game...i would like to see them finish higher in the rankings and win the conference again
yes UH played well, but i don't know why everyone is seeing those wins with such disbelief...UH has beaten okie state 2 out of the last 3 or 4 times they've played (so okie state knows UH can beat them). ...UH's offense has finished very high since like 2003, and have had some good wins and very close games with some of the nation's "top teams" ...i just wish the media and football fans alike would broaden their football horizon...the "big boys" aren't the only ones who can play. ...GO COOGS!
this is how i spent mysaturday night? at home watchin a great game with my family, what a game!! i hop they dont scare us again with them close calls though lol
Citation needed. "In addition to the 20 luxury suites added in the summer of 1998, "Phase I" entailed replacement of the current track with a ring of tiered seating, bringing the stadium's capacity to 32,000." Im confused as to how the fans rushing the field showed anything besides immense support for the UH team and a release of pent up energy from beating a ranked team as an unranked team one game before. Seriously, are you telling me that you wouldnt have done the same were you in the same position as a UH student?
and I stormed the field. and the reason the field was stormed was because of the atmosphere. it had nothing to do with rankings. the home team won by one point at the last second. if they had lost that, their season would have been over. now they have a shot at a bcs bowl game. that's why.
lolz so tech did not rush last year at the end of the UT game?? We rushed not because it was tech.. we rushed because our program is returning to its previous great status and all the hard work is paying off.
Yes, we lost to UTEP... so? what? We rushed the field because it was a hard fought game, and it was the win that solidified the Coogs as a contender. UTEP rushed when they beat us...it's the nature of the game. We finished 10-4 after losing a championship game and he bowl game. How did UTEP fare at their bowl game...oh wait...
UTEP 58, Houston 41 (10/03/09) UCF 37, Houston 32 (11/14/09) ECU 38, Houston 32 (12/05/09) Air Force 47, Houston 20 (12/31/09) i guess that's part of the reason
@hawianiceman420 we are in C-usa and according to everyone we were a low, no name team who just beat 2 BCS schools back to back. we were not really "expected" to win. and we are UH, we do what we want, so go spread your hate some wheres else.
@hawianiceman420 a community college is a 2year school, UH is a 4 year school with many ABA accredited programs but you wouldn't know this since you obviously are not smart enough to know the difference between and community college and a 4 year university. Along with that UH will be tier one status soon. Haters gona hate
Clark team was terrible for years leading up to this. Had a winless season in 01. Won a conference title in 06 but lost big games to Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma, Alabama during the rebuilding effort. The win vs no. 5 OK St was on the road which landed UH at 23rd or so. They got bumped to 17 after a bye week. Fans didn't view us as a top team or even a favorite against a Big 12 school despite a high ranking. The win was the real coming out party for the fanbase, hence the rush.
Sorry we have emotions and aren't robots... Consider it rushing the field for beating the 5th ranked team in the nation then beating a BCS school playing them down to the wire....
@hawianiceman420 without keenum AND Cotton Turner. we had to rely on a freshman off the bench QB. if any other team lost their QB and back up in the same game im sure they wouldn't have done so well either. no one likes hater dude calm down
everybodys gonna hop right off the bandwagon now that u of h lost its typical houston fan the main thing i hate about this city is they dont live and die with their teams houston has fair weather luke warm gravy train fans.u gotta live and die with ur team or just dont ride at all.
@talkwithJB How does DJ Screw make Houston look bad? He brought a new cultural identity to the city, like it or not, and since he died around 10 years ago I'm pretty sure he is not to blame. You may not identify with the way he made his music, but a lot of people did and do. And having grown up in Pasadena and now working there as a teacher I can tell you that "gangbangers" are the vast minority. Most people here are blue-collar. No one area is to blame if indeed "Houston looks bad"
i was there and stormed the field. it was AWESOME!!!
I was there with ya pal
Watching on 1/14/2022, who's with me? What a game; it never gets old. LetsGoCoogs 🐾 🏈
11 years later and I still remember this game. The energy in that stadium was like a living thing. Go Coogs!
I'm not even a fan of the cougars but I was at this game with a highschool friend when I was 15. I've been to LSU games and idk if I've ever been to a college football game with more energy in the air as this one.
I could watch this 1,000 times and it would NEVER get old!!!
Who else is watching this in 2017?! TOMORROW UH meets TT again!
Place will be LIT!!!
How about November 2018? Brings back good memories 😁 #GoCoogs
This looks insane. Can't wait to go there this August.
L.A W. With our new head coach you are gonna see this kind of stuff!
+L.A W. I was there, will never forget it. However, no one ever says that TT could have won that game had their coach, Mike Leach, ran the ball more during the game and even at the end. itsglen9646 It's a nice stadium. I've gone to all the home games this year and loved every game.
I could watch this all day. We finally arrived...again.
All Houston teams are like that... all sports... all levels. Awesome at times... bone headed at other times.
Go Coogs
Best game I've ever been to. I'm proud to be a Coog!
Whooooo boy. This gets me excited for Saturday.
I have never been at a game quite like this one.
I regret not going to this game.
This is why I love this sport called College Football games like these when the underdog team wins at home and their crowd goes nuts say what you want about a team but a win is a win......GOOD WIN COUGARS!
The greatest foootball game since Ive been at UH real talk.
YES.. we shall see each other next year. Our guys will be better.
GO COOG!!
And you guys had the best game of your lives against TT and OKie St. But no hate, you guys played well and got the W against us. We'll be waiting for you guys next year. Hope your ready.
I was there

How about them COOGS!!!! Yay Case!!! Amazing game! We rushed that field! Woot
I was there....what a great night. UH Football re-born on this night
This victory represented a turning point in Houston Football.
32,114.. it was the largest crowd ever at Robertson Stadium. It's also the most exciting game I've ever been to...Go Coogs...
make us techies proud. it will have been better for us to lose to yall and you guys end up really good than lose again. so keep it up
I miss the SWC ALWAYS had great games like these
Best game I've ever been too...
...yep that's what EVERYONE is not realizing!!! UH is a very young team several sophomores and true and redshirt freshman STARTING and playing key roles for the COOGS!!! our team is so young and inexperienced, yeah just wait till next year!!

the people i went to the game with were tech alumni though. suffice to say the car ride home was gratifying.

Finally a winning football team in town. GO COOGS!
...yep that's the thing, UH can't have any more slip ups like the utep game...i would like to see them finish higher in the rankings and win the conference again
thanks so much for uploading this, go coogs!
That was something else...great game!
ah man if UH had a half way decent defense with the nation leading offense it already has it would be one of the best teams in college football.
Number 17 is not supposed to rush the field after beating a non ranked team at home!!! That tells you that the college rankings are screwed up.
crazy game!!! funnest day of my college life!!!
cant wait till saturday
yes UH played well, but i don't know why everyone is seeing those wins with such disbelief...UH has beaten okie state 2 out of the last 3 or 4 times they've played (so okie state knows UH can beat them).

i was here and almost died jumping over that endzone wall with the bushes lol
i would Love to play aTm,
but regardless cant wait till next year!
this is how i spent mysaturday night? at home watchin a great game with my family, what a game!! i hop they dont scare us again with them close calls though lol
okay yeah, that makes sense. I remember watching it as it happened and went crazy.

kevin sumlin be coachin his behind off
It hold just over 32,000, not 22,000. But not for long....the long awaited major expansion is just around the corner. Plans look awesome
Tech needs to win this weekend. It looks good on us and it looks good on us.
Way to go Cougars!! Good job I knew we could do it!! Go COUGARS!!
I lived that moment at Robertson stadium! Go COOGS!
and I stormed the field. and the reason the field was stormed was because of the atmosphere. it had nothing to do with rankings. the home team won by one point at the last second. if they had lost that, their season would have been over. now they have a shot at a bcs bowl game. that's why.

great to watch that again, but 7:40 chewbacca made it just a bit better
Case Keenum Makes His First Start At Reliant Stadium tonight Against The Indianapolis Colts,Go Texans
I was at the game, and it was 32,114... check your facts jack.
UTEP 58, Houston 41 (10/03/09)
UCF 37, Houston 32 (11/14/09)
ECU 38, Houston 32 (12/05/09)
Air Force 47, Houston 20 (12/31/09)
i guess that's part of the reason
"A game Case Keenum will always remember" I know sure will!
He’ll also remember the Minneapolis Miracle he threw to Stephon diggs against the saints.
And what sport do you prefer...
Awesome job UH! I love it.
Go Coogs.
@12aggie12 How about Houston vs Texas A&M??
@hawianiceman420 we rushed the field because it was a BCS school and we beat osu the week before another BCS team
@hawianiceman420 we are in C-usa and according to everyone we were a low, no name team who just beat 2 BCS schools back to back. we were not really "expected" to win. and we are UH, we do what we want, so go spread your hate some wheres else.
good moments!
@Boheb08 how can you not like utep they havent won a bowl game in 45yrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha yeah those bushes messed me up too.
the penalty around 5:55 ... shouldn't that have warranted at 10 second runoff?? Doesn't change the outcome, just wondering
If I'm the higher ups at Houston I'd sign this guy to a LONG contract......And whats the capacity of Houston's stadium?......It was loud!
@hawianiceman420 a community college is a 2year school, UH is a 4 year school with many ABA accredited programs but you wouldn't know this since you obviously are not smart enough to know the difference between and community college and a 4 year university. Keenum ran 10yds in 2seconds ridiculous
@hawianiceman420 UH had a true freshman quarterback that season, what did you expect?
@Saberek you musta played u must have played legit and stayed in ur room 24/7 not going out
Kinda sad that they stormed the field...I thought you were only supposed to do that when your the underdog, not when your ranked higher lol.
Clark team was terrible for years leading up to this. Had a winless season in 01. Won a conference title in 06 but lost big games to Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma, Alabama during the rebuilding effort. @computergeek89 I actually cried towards the end!
Im a die hard Coog and will forever bleed Cougar Red. GO COOGS.
University of Houston - The New UC: Phase One
Its been our bad D man....
if only michael crabtree was around for that last pass play...
at 3:21, the guy in the UT shirt is me. HOOK 'EM.
Awesome. Go coogs!
Still sore?
Sorry we have emotions and aren't robots...
Consider it rushing the field for beating the 5th ranked team in the nation then beating a BCS school playing them down to the wire....
If anything Case Keenum Should be considered for Heisman!!!!
uh... wrong. Cougar fans rushed the field because we of the way we won the game. Pretty obvious.
Their kicker can barely kick 40 yards, they weren't in his range
GO COOGS!!!!! I got my close up on national tv :P
Whose House?
why couldn't they beat UTEP?!?!
@hawianiceman420 without keenum AND Cotton Turner. we had to rely on a freshman off the bench QB. if any other team lost their QB and back up in the same game im sure they wouldn't have done so well either. no one likes hater dude calm down
I UH had a decent defense the offense wouldn't have to score 50 points a game and they would have had a chance to go undefeated
@lurchipoo wanna say that again?
I wanna see Houston Cougars vs Houston Texans lol
I think thias was the year before that rulechange
Oh crap at 7:39 there's a WAREWOLF!!!!!!!!!!
Is 13 how old you are? Seriously dude, grow up.
everybodys gonna hop right off the bandwagon now that u of h lost its typical houston fan the main thing i hate about this city is they dont live and die with their teams houston has fair weather luke warm gravy train fans.u gotta live and die with ur team or just dont ride at all.
@DoThyDerp well they just beat ucla today.
GO COOGS!!
so many yellow wristbands in the air.
