1:07 fellow homeschooler here! I used to finish reading my history textbooks and english literature books ( *cough* A Tale of Two Cities *cough* ) at the beginning of the semester and dawdle over writing the papers the rest of the semester. I got in trouble one time when my Mom caught me with a “Murder She Wrote” in between the pages of a history textbook I had finished long ago; I lost non-school-related reading privileges at least for the rest of that day, if not for a bit longer than that. Yes… I was a real wild child, I know. 🤭 Can’t hide things from Homeschooling Moms for long… 😬
Hooray for homeschool! It's the best! I'm so grateful I was able to homeschool my youngest. I always supplemented my older two and my other son hated it until he was 18 and then gave me a call from bootcamp gushing about what an awesome mom I was, I better raise his little brother the same way. LOL Oh, okay. Was that an underhanded threat? 🤔😂 Prometheus was caught a few times reading past bedtime with the flashlight or his camp light. It was all God's doing for why we homeschooled and again, I'm so incredibly grateful. Thank you for sharing your story. I love it! It sounds like your mom did a good job. 🤗 Homeschooling can be challenging. We have to do everything: choose curricula, schedule, teach, correct/discipline, then do the administrative part as well, etc. My oldest is homeschooling her three and she went to public school. I love that she's home educating. And Prometheus says his children will be home educated as well.
Great, snappy answers! I wonder if BookTube drama has generally been easing up lately. I haven't heard of anything (could be I'm just not in that corner of BookTube). Glad the trolls have seemingly been leaving you two alone since then (or that you just ignore them now).
Oh I do hope so. I hate the division. I like being friends with everyone. For a very long time I felt like a lone island. I miss being able to have discussions and people still showing respect even when there were differeing viewpoints. As for the troll, I had threatened her with a cease and desist. It was hard to ignore her, because she would create new channels, leave comments and then delete the channels. Thank you for your support. I appreciate you and your content. ~Erion
Fun tag! I'm with you - why lie about reading a book? Though, like Prometheus, there was one book in college that I just didn't have time for and wrote an A essay without reading it - ha ha. This is a fun tag! I like Jim's 1-minute reviews. What I like about your channel is getting the perspectives of both of you. I enjoyed hearing your answers.
Hi Sue~ Happy to see you on this side of booktube. I'll share with Prometheus your experience about not reading a book and still writing an A-essay. Well done! Do you remember the title of the book? Has anyone tagged you? You should do the tag. It is fun.
@@BookZealots This side?? I didn't know Booktube had sides? Yes, I still have the book! ha ha It was Moll Flanders ... and I still haven't read it! lol but I plan to :)
Thank you Cheryl. Isn't it challenging to remember details of a book for Christian readers though, because like you mentioned in one of your dual timeline books, something happened in the book, and others hadn't mentioned it. I haven't forgotten about the Reader's Profile tag. I'm working on it. =) I'm sad you can't read ebooks. I think if I could, I'd walk around with a kindle everywhere. I love your channel. I am so glad I discovered it. I love your honesty, your outlook and your relatability. There are so many hateful, mean and vindictive people online. It’s sad that someone can’t post an opinion without being ridiculed and bombarded with such angry remarks. I am a republican and if I make any remark about it I am raked over the coals. America is a democracy but voice an opinion that is not leftist and gosh the hate you receive. Anyway it’s so nice to watch someone who actually thinks and enjoys books and gives honest opinion. I am so glad to call you friend. I have made friends with a couple of people on booktube who I am glad came into my life because of booktube. I told her they want less government does it make sense for them to want police to have that much power? No way. They definitely need more training and do not get me started on their health. Anyway, I adore her and I'm so happy she is open to conversations. Now behind closed doors/or computers she might think I'm an absolute loon.
