I have been on hormones now for 2 years. I happened upon this movie on Netflix and it was one of the toughest movies I have ever experienced in my life to date. This one was more catching me realizing how life is as a Transgender female. I am much older now 49 but at a young age I could have been her, not in the form of dancing but way back in 1983 when I started to feel different a lot of the peer pressure being myself back then people did not like. Fast forward to now and I am being hit on for being my true self. I wanted to get some background from the actors and director aspect so I could understand it better on what the movie was conveying. Imagining how a 15 year old female dancer in ballet on point is still tough, they seem to eat less to keep the figure and work out way more I would ever have. Adding on top of this becoming a woman who is going through this as a newly Transgender person. Having a supporting parent was so beautiful and I wondered where was Mom. I have a daughter whom is almost 28..she was born first and we are very close. My son not so much because we divorced, but both kids support me, my daughter more my son, but I will take what I can get. Finally making the decision it does effect everyone you come in contact with and if you are not understanding of what it is to be associated with a Transgender person be it Male to Female or Female to Male or Non Binary, and choose not to be involved nor choose not to accept you for who you are, then tension does happen. I am very happy I found this movie even though it was very tough for me to get through.

I thought it was a great movie.Very sensitively put together and realistic.Having met some of these people when I was much younger I really didn't understand, but you must be respectful and kind to people. Now things have changed and many more are making this change.I thought it was realsitic, Lara has to go through her teenage years and also deal with wanting to change her body.Well done!
