yo that transitioning from layer to layer you did was so smooth and the best ive seen someone show the layers. i loved the music and the slow mo drop of the switches on the mouse pad to give it the bounce. thanks so much for making this video
thanks man, the layer transition is my signature move 😉 haha, haven't seen another keyboard review do it before. And yeah there was actually one switch on the right of frame that landed perfectly on it's spring, did a flip and landed again! Was super cool.
In my home country the M1 is very popular and people would usually replace the 2 side gold pieces with acrylic ones and add rgb strips on the side for side glow, would be an interesting mod if you want to look into it.
Dude I’m in awe of the passion the commitment and creativity of all your videos(I just binged watched like 8) and just cannot comprehend how you only have 30kish subs. Hope you gain a large following here and keep the same detailed and passion on future videos. Will continue watching haha
Truly appreciate your support 😁 I went full time UA-cam mid last year, which has allowed me to be more consistent with uploads and it's thankfully helped more people like you find my channel. I've got sooo many projects planned that I can't wait to share in the future. have a good day 🤙
Would you recommend the Monskey M7W Barebones 68% (Hotswap Bluetooth 5.0/2.4ghz wireless Dongle/Wired USB-C) 5000mah Internal battery OR The Lemokey L3 (The newer gaming division of Keychron keyboard's version of the Keychron Q3), but with Cherry profile keycaps and a few more features like 1000hz polling rate when used in wired mode. The Lemokey L3 uses the same Bluetooth/2.4ghz wireless Dongle/USB-C wired options...but also has a southpaw 4 key vertical macro key column as well as a Rotary knob/volume knob that also doubles as a push to mute button.vertical macro key column as well as a Rotary knob/volume knob that also doubles as a push to mute button. Which one would you recommend based on your experiences with Monskey, and probably Keychron as well....as I have nothing to go on since I've mostly built my other keyboards from scratch using a variety of different companies and brands to build them....but lately I've been wanting a secondary keyboard that has a Hotswap PCB and ability to customize keys using VIA/VIAL etc, as well as the main part which is having a nice large internal battery for using it with Bluetooth / 2.4ghz dongle for the Xbox One/ and of course the USB-C wired/charging option. Thanks!
I experienced double / triple and more key strokes per one press of the key, I thought that maybe switches are faulty so I bought some extra and changed them. But I experienced that even brand new switches have the same issue (I bought already assembled Akko Monsgeek MG108B keyboard)... After randomly bouncing into this video, I found out that in Monsgeek software there is possibility to set latency. I went from +1/10 Sensitivity to +4/10 Sensitivity and so far, no more multiple cliks per keystroke with the same switches! Thank you very much for mentioning this, since I was thinking that it's just Akko switches that are faulty! I really appreciate this, thank you very much!
Because you're quite technical, have you considered setting up a calibrated microphone and jig that will drop a finger-shaped weight of 49-80 grams to objectively analyze sound? You can use something REW to show the "objective" difference mods make.
There's definitely a difference with the Banggood M series boards not being the international version (the QMK versions). However, the QMK versions aren't available for the M1W yet anyway.
I've ordered the Monsgeek M5, and I was wondering the same about the large white tape. I believe it may not be a tape mod, in fact. According to their website, they point to the various components arriving with the keyboard, and as for the tape they state: VHB Insulation Layer A VHB insulation layer has been added to the bottom case in order to prevent any short-circuit issues. It’s rare for these issues to occur but we want to add extra protection. According to their layers of components image, it's supposed to be at the bottom of the case?
I believe that the VHB layer is pre-applied, it's almost 1mm thick transparent sheet of plastic adhered to the thick poron foam base layer. After looking at some other reviews since posting others have also mentioned the white tape as being for a tape mod under the PCB 👍
@@camshand Ah, you could be right. It says under the "Accessories to play with" section: Extra tape for users who wish to perform a tape mod. And also at the specs at the bottom: Tape Y (not pre-installed) Btw, as someone who's never had a custom kb and is awaiting for the delivery in order to assemble it - should I use the provided tape? Is it worse than those painter's or electrical tapes that ppl usually use? As in, quality, or thickness wise
4:09 i struggle to watch lectures cause of adhd. Putting the switches and keys on my last build i was able to focus through a whole 2hr lecture no problem. Was weird.
Yes that is on the version 2 upgrade list! It's consistently about 2ms to activate when I tested it, so the variations in latency of different connection modes are still relevant to one another. So for now works fine for finding the "fastest" mode 👍
The included Force Brake Mod and the included tape mod arent mentioned because the people instantly open the keyboard and use them as intended but dont know if they open the keyboard the warrenty is gone. Just some simple marketing. Like your vids!
The M5 and MG108W/B are full sized, but there's no guarantee either of them are going to sound or perform the same as the M1, so you might want to look for separate reviews of those.
2ms latency penalty for 2.4ghz wireless isn't bad at all. I remember when LCD display latency was around 50ms and complaining about it was considered a skill issue 😂
haha yeah it's not a huge impact when factored into total system latency. But some want to minimise everywhere. I remember reading somewhere that a top tier gaming mice was faster wireless than when wired. I just saw Logitech released a new gaming keyboard, so wonder if it'll be the case there
6:05 Changing the Delete key............ Literally not even Monsgeek told me that through support or ANY OTHER VIDEO. I bought the keyboard 2 weeks ago and I wasn't able to figure out if you can change it ._. Thanks! (but seriously, Monsgeek support must have just assumed I was a vet while it's my first mechanical keyboard)
lol k then 😅 Or, hear me out, the arm rest's limit how close I can put the chair to my desk, so I have to lean in a bit to be close enough to the mic for the camera to catch in frame 🤔

Thanks for sharing that with us, do you have a video about that pls ?
Or u can buy GMMK Pro
@@nickywinata1482overpriced and better options for like half the price
@@nickywinata1482...which will not only hit your bank account harder but also give you worse build quality and poorly designed software
can you please add a link for a video to do this mod please?

I've got a Monsgeek M6 as I'm hard stuck in the Alice layout camp, it helps keep my carpal tunnel at bay.

subbed i liked your extra effort for latency testing
Thank you, I am planning to make a new version of the latency tester too which will be fun!

When I see "Cam Shand uploaded" in my notifications, I drop everything I'm doing and watch. Great videos mate.

I get hit by a wave of happyness when you upload
The quality of your videos and editing is amazing! You deserve a lot more subscribers. I love your content!
personally i feel that ajazz kiwis really need some lubricant to shine, they’re quite harsh and scratchy otherwise
Nice Review. But you should really use a solid state relay if you want to accurately measure the latency.

Keychron QMKVIA keyboards fix all of the issues you have. i have mine configured so that function+numpad becomes f13-f24.
I have the m1w and it has an included very sticky thick clear tape, it help the sound
I just got the M1W because of you, AND heading to Syntrend in Taipei in 2 days!
very nice looking keyboard, i vibe with the key caps
Coiled Cables🔥🔥
When on wireless and the keyboard goes to sleep, does turning the knob wake the keyboard?
where to get this?
Interesting, I wonder if they do a version with keypad as well, would not want a keyboard without it.

You should consider the leolog hi100 and infi 100, which are very popular 98 keyboard in Chinese Mainland
whats the tap feature in the leobog hi 75 software?
underrated as …
Please on Akko cream yellow magnetic v2 switches.
the stabilizers need some lube
Can one change its language setting to Nordic by the computer if the bought keyboard doesn't have the Nordic letters?
Nice vid mate
would you test the leobog hi8?

Hi , can you please tell how many layers it supports in the software
3 layers, can you tell me how to turn it on/off? :)
I don’t know, i looked into it, dropped the idea & then i got the qmk version.
Does somebody know how to turn off/on the keyboard, I'm new to wireless :/
This software is exactly the same as i have in epomaker th80pro xD
