I would love to see a resurgence of beautifully crafted walking sticks/canes in North America. I just recently bought my first walking cane in walnut with a beautiful round wooden handle and will use it in public occasionally but my wife doesn't want to be seen with me using it because she thinks it's only for men that are eccentric. LOL Your thought?

I hate that canes isn't a thing anymore. What happened to the good old days when every man had a suit, hat and cane? BRING IT BACK!

Fortunately there are still people who collect them. I actually make canes and walking sticks for a living and am doing quite well.

@Karol I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about early 1900 - 1930 and high society.

Teachers: The egypsian god used his cane to beat his own children and everytime they cried he would beat them harder
Student: well for all we know he could have used his cane to scratch his ass
    Teachers: that is tottally ilogical
Student: no its not I mean just look at it

What era is the lizard cane from? Since the Opera was mentioned I am guessing either 18 or 19 century?

Great guess! This cane dates to the 19th century.
