OMG !!! Yes yes those mosquitoes are the worst lolol but I got some second skin spray which helps ..kauai is the best didnt hike much but driving randomly was really fun. Took lihue alternate route was very beautiful also

Hi Amanda! I use just high ankle boots since it can get slippery and I don't want to twist my ankle. I am usually the only person I see wearing actual hiking boots though - most people wear sneakers or some even climb barefoot! The most important thing is trying to scrub the bottom of your boots at the end to prevent the spread of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD). It's a fungal disease found on island that kills ʻŌhiʻa. Hi Chad! Each person needs entry ticket/reservation to enter the park and do the first 2 miles unless they have a HI state ID. To do the full Kalalau Trail you'd need a 2nd permit. Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️❤️

Nice. I will be writing this down for our next trip to Kauai. I'm hoping to vacation out there soon. It's been too long since we've left Oahu.
