If I was on £50k a week at 19, I wouldn't have turned 20.
😂
LOOOOOOOL
LMFAO 🤣
For real 🤣🤣
Frig me I’d be the same 😂😂😂
Micah Richards is 33 years old. He played for 14 seasons. Not a bad life at all, especially with his wages. He invested wisely, and his punditry career is lucrative. Sure, injuries blunted his potential greatness, but he seems to love his life and is at peace with his career and accomplishments.
Good for him!
Love the guy, much respect.
But he’s dog turd at his job
100% living the life we all deserve.
I love the guy he's cool always a smile on the big face
This probably the first time I’ve heard a player talk about his wages.
Ben foster does (the cycling gk podcast)
Love his Attitude and the 3 of them work together perfectly shame the story didn’t carry on l
Well you mustn’t listen very often … numpty
messi did. when he said he was going to take a 50% wage cut and only take home 50mil/ week. although messi is probably worth that.
@Mr Smith How is he bragging to Alan Shearer? Premier league legend. He's obviously joking and giving an honest account
Love how much he leans into the 'burst on to the scene' for bants
Never gets old 😂
What a idiot with his silly laugh
@BoatyMcBoatface heh heh heh heh heh heh repeat those words and you will sound like that clown
@@thomasoloughlin9075 Jealousy isn't pretty, find a new style
@@HonestMan112 it's not about jealousy let him earn as much as he want it still doesn't stop him being a complete idiot
People do forget how highly rated he was. Big strong and quick. Very good in the air for a RB I always thought he’d end up as a top CB for England but injuries actually ruined him. Class player
He was too big. You cant be that big n muscular without it affecting your knees.
Adama Traore??
Michail Antonio ??
"Class"
@@edwinzuniga1987 LeBron James has entered the chat lol. But he's a freak of nature.
Respect to Micah for admitting that. When you're earning that type of money the fear goes about playing every week.
How would you know?
He’s trying to elevate his status by saying his talent was far better - not really admitting anything
@@Ben-mv9jt He admitting p*ssing up £100.000s up the wall on nights out.
@@mick78ftm Well I wouldn't .But the way his career went i'm guessing that was part of the what happen. To much to young.
Respect? Really? A bang average player bragging about how much he earned and admitting he used to piss it away? Yeah, so respectful.
Could listen to Micah all day long. He is funny and honest. Has a laugh but isn’t afraid to talk about serious side of live
Hate to be that guy but it's life no live! Guess I need a life lol.
@@iMemeHQ Shame on you Timothée! Leave this poor soul alone.
Micah is very likeable i loved him when he played for us
Can’t stand him ,,loves his self ,,utter knob at best
@@karlatkin01 says you with the knob comment...
Very rare to see that level of honesty from a pundit. Naturally a specimen and if it weren’t for injuries he’d have likely went far but it’s very refreshing to hear someone admit their mistakes and still have a smile instead of the bitterness you see with some ex players blaming managers and everyone else for their shortcomings.
His prime was short but prime Micah Richards was a beast.
Plz reminds me of sako, crystal Palace defender, big an clumsy
Bossed Man U around the parked during that 6-1 win
Yeah his prime was 4 weeks 🤣🤣🤣
@@benholland1331 so about 4 weeks longer than your prime then
@@benholland1331 and u never had one. Amazing isn’t it?
These three are so funny together they just vibe off eachother 😂
its like a therapy. Excellent.
@@stevenaitcheson6938 very true mate ☺️
80's, 90's and 00's players. I love the contrast!
Could have had such a bigger career Micah, he was absolutely rock solid in his prime.
Injuries man
It's just that his prime was 19 yrs old..
The problem for any player who bulks up at a young age is the extra muscle you put on makes your bones and ligaments unable to cope with the sheer forces your body generates with twisting and turning. Big injuries are a major risk especially if you are fast. I recall Brazilian Ronaldo at 17 playing for PSV before going to Barcelona and Inter, bulking up after leaving PSV and as a result started getting many knee ligament injuries.
@Auto Bot - Ugh! So bloody pathetic! So many British kids lack proper education and guidance.
Didn’t last did it
Love Micah as a pundit. He’s got this infectious love for the game and he obviously loves Man City but he also accepts that sometimes they aren’t perfect. Any man who can make Roy Keane out of the shell is a legend…..and he was a bloody beast back in the day
That Roy Keane point is spot on
What the blagger who thinks cus he laughs like a gibbering cabbage at everything anyone say it makes him funny ?
@@rayfinkle2805 cheer up, Ray
He most certainly burst on to the scene as a pundit. Love this guy.
He’s comes across as a very honest young man and he would be well placed to help other young footballers not make the same mistakes when earning a lot of money at such a young age.
Just love Micah! Honest and always tells it as it is ! He’s such a breath of fresh air to the usual pundits
In 94, 18yo, I went from £4K a year to £15K a year and thought I was a god.
He spent 10 times your yearly salary in one night / what your earned in 10 years in one night
@@MR-ms5qy incorrect, 15k in 94 was 31k in todays money meaning 150k is 75k in 94, so 2 and a half is a fair calculation
I love micah richards total honesty so down to earth. And id say he be great crack on a night out.
If I was on £50k a week at 18 I also would have gone off the rails. It's an insane amoh t of money at that age.
Love this guy. Such a great character and no doubt a joy to be around.
That’s just a character for the cameras. He’s very different in real life.
2.5 million a year starting at 19 years of age is crazy. I get that their playing careers are short, but that’s still more money in a year than most people will make in a lifetime.
In three lifetimes..
But ppl globally spend billions to watch them perform... Much of That money should actually go to those actually performing on the pitch making the product... Otherwise it just goes to owners instead. Television has revolutionised the finances of sport across the world at the elite level be it Football Tennis Basketball NFL Boxing even for some Athletics .... Usain Bolt through power of stellar talent & charisma made millions & carried athletics for a decade. He still makes millions in ads in retirement around the world
@@StarboundUK I’m not arguing against it, I just find it fascinating.
Average property price in manchester was around £170k back then… now its £210k. Plus inflation across all other industries. £50k a week back then gets you soo much more than £50k a week now (which is still an insane amount of money) no wonder his head got too big at the time!!
Lifetime? If you earn say a minimum of £20k per annum for an average of 40 years that a million pounds already!!! People just dont save up
It's hard not to like Micah such a humble and honest guy and always has a smile on his face... absolutely love the guy
Humble😂 “I was so good” “I was the best” “there was no one like me” is that what you call humble? He was a bang average player
@@sp3ckedout224 Facts lol. He was bang average and seems to think he's world class.
@@sp3ckedout224 You must be a Man Utd fan 🙄
Humble???
That's the LAST word I'd use to describe him. He's a no-mark amongst actual footballing legends, yet he constantly talks about ''bursting onto the scene'' and being the youngster England defender. A fact nobody remembers because he wasn't a memorable player. He's somebody who believed his own mum's hype.
I absolutely love Micah just has that good personality about him.
I love how open and honest he is. Great pundit, and I also love how he’s taking that “burst on to the scene” comment as like his new catchphrase 😂 got a lot of time for Micah
Takes balls to be this open and honest about the cash and attitude. Everyone knows this puts a target on your back but I appreciate how open he is about these things.
I love Micah's honesty, and the rapport between these guys is brilliant.
Quiet possibly the best episode of the podcast so far. Mainly because Micah was so honest. Great to hear the insight and the psychological side of young footballers.
What Micah will realise is he is PRIME right now. Such a great character love seeing him on any show he does.
What I LOVE about Micah is that he made 'boring' Alan Shearer have bants and fun for once. I didn't realise Shearer was funny until he was with Micah.
Should see Shearer with Wrighty, it's piss your pants hilarious
I love Micah hes such a laugh to listen to but when thing you notice about the way he talks about his career compared to Shearer and Linekar is they both downplay their achievements (which were immense). Even though hes doing it in a funny way Micah plays up his achievements - largely because he had so much potential early but didn't really kick on to fulfill it and then finished early due to injury. He makes it funny and as banter but you can tell there is a lot of regret he didn't fulfill his potential
I think its because their careers speak for itself whereas people have probably forgotten about how highly touted Micah Richards was a teenager with the way his career panned out.
@@josevanreyes Yep. I remember Micah Richards playing, but apart from him swearing on TV at age 18 I wouldn't be able to tell you much about him, when he left City, where he went after, etc. I certainly don't remember any of these "accolades" he bangs on about. Whereas I clearly remember when I was at school, kids in the playground would pretend to be Alan Shearer when they scored a goal, and were buying Blackburn shirts with his name on. He was genuinely the biggest star in the country for a large part of the '90s.
How can anyone hate on richards, he is just brutally honest and a fun guy at that 🤣
Brutally honest 👌🏿 great take and a lesson for the youngsters
Love how different the three of them are…how they are themselves and fun with it
Never forget think it was his debut in Amsterdam arena for England ,he was marking robben is his prime ,one of the best performances I’ve ever seen ,had him in his pocket,I was amazed ...
Never realised his injury problems went all the way back to being 18 I thought they were a recent thing.
BBC was losing me with shenanigans but these three guys got me back to BBC Football. This genuine punditry. they are just natural as team. Alan and Micah makes Lineker looks far better than when he did it with other people.
Those last 5 minutes Micah Richards played in his debut against Arsenal were more memorable than the 85 minutes that Danny Mills played on the day.
‘When I burst onto the scene’ always a classic! 😂😂😂
Loving the honesty, gotta lot of time for Micah Richards! Grounded guy bags of fun to watch as a pundit
Micah was raw when he burst onto the scene...he was a beast.
Good to see he is proud of his career and how fond he is of his early days in football. So much fondness and passion
He was phenomenal as a youngster, I remember watching him in awe as it looked like he had the world at his feet.
It shows how crucial it is for.young players to have the right people around them. They get to much too soon but you can't argue against them getting it of they are contributing on the pitch. Family, friends and the right management team are crucial to keeping a young players feet on the ground!
Love listening to the honesty from him there seems like a belter lad aswell tbf
Always loved Micah, because he has always been genuine.
Love insights like this. Also a lessons for the young & upcoming 👌
Remember him "Bursting " onto the scene. Absolutely phenomenal young player,Would have loved him at Spurs . Shame how injury ruins some world class talent
I just love the fact that Micah is honest enough to realize his mistakes, the FA could do worse than employing him as some sort of adviser to the youngsters???
Dude was amazing in my FM team and I like him on tv too.. Brings a lot of laughs and joy!
Shearer sitting there livid as that's what he was getting paid at Newcastle in his prime hahahaha
Rate Micah brings energy should be used more on other shows aswell
This whole show had me in tears. These three are a comedy trio
These 3 fellas are great! Very engaging and they compliment each other…Micah being super excited, lineker being the link man and shearers dry wit…..They are funny
Micah has burst into the punditry just like he burst onto the scene, just so entertaining
I love Micah's energy he's a good bloke
I love how honest Micah is and that he's not afraid to laugh at himself.
MR2 - I love his honesty! It’s refreshing to hear his stories
love Micah, so honest and funny.
Love him. He’s humble but also proud. Good on him
Man is too honest and i love it
I love how honest he is about it
Micah splashing the cash while Shearer is the tightest man in Tyneside.
Always love watching Micah. His laugh is like that Chris akubuzi guy. Probably spelt wrong. But him and Keane. Amazing
The banter between these 3 is lit
Admire Micah and his honesty
Fair play to the lad, recognises his youthful short comings !
I love how he’s so transparent. Always had time for ‘MR2’ and definitely one of the least bias pundits
Got to say love Micah..... funny guy.... honest too..... most footballers don't really talk about their wages.... $150k in one nights is insane....but its 3 weeks wages......still a lot.
"There was no one like me back then."
"Still isn't." 😅😅😅
👌Pleasure to learn from these guys being so candid 👍🙏
These 3 guys are the English pundits, always enjoy watching them whether they're talk serious footbal or bollocks like here; on the other hand appreciate Micah's honesty
I was behind the goal at villa Park years back when he equalised for city in the F,A cup in injury time.He jumped over the hoardings and into my arms 🤣.After the game he gave an interview and swore on live tv😆.
I remember that goal great header
As a utd fan it kills me to say it but in his day he was a beast!! 👏👏👏
Prime Micah was a unit! Shame about the injuries
Micah really was a sensational breakthrough talent.
Even crazier nowadays. Sancho at 21 is on 250k-350k a week..madness!
But he’s earned it. So his mindset, though only three years older, should be different.
Tbf with inflation it’s not mega different, considering sanchos was a transfer and not just a contract renewal and the age gap they are pretty comparable, don’t chat shit abt mindset though and all that, these players have a full team behind them telling them what they can and can’t do, they are like robots
@@007Fusiion Don't think he has. He's a good player, but not worth that kind of money. Messi & Ronaldo weren't near those numbers when they were 21, taking into account the inflation. Salah, who's currently the best player in the world is not on that kind of money either. When you spoil these youngsters that have achieved minimal in the game, they lose their drive and hunger.
@@jackmurray5024 "Tbf with inflation it’s not mega different" Wrong. 50k a week in 2007 would have been around 66k in 2021. 66k x 52 = £3,432,000. Compared to Sanchos £18,200,000
Sancho is on 5.3 times the money Micah was on adjusted for inflation.
@@007Fusiion No body EARNS that.
Respect his honesty.
Would have genuinely been world class. He was technically sound, strong, quick. I remember his potential in some Fifa at late 80s. Sad what injury did to him, but he's still enjoying himself. Good on him
I remember Steed Malbranque turning him inside out up at Sunderland, poor lad was pleased to hear the final whistle.
I remember Micah at the start of his career and he did burst onto the scene but then he just seemed to disappear. Now we know about the injuries etc but glad to know he survived
factssss, he was soo good, made RB look so sleek
Micah is magic. Knowledgeable, witty and most important of all authentic.❤️🙏🥊.x
Great that Micah is such an open book with all this. Hats off to him. If I was on that money at 19.... wow.
I never knew Micah was this personable!
Respect to Micah for his honesty 👍
Micah is proper class, full credit for being honest.
Loved how good Micah was
Could listen all day to this bloke
Its nice to see someone talking openly and honestly about money in football.
Love his honesty.
Interesting content.I like the truth it's refreshing.
It was an explosive start to a career and as Micah acknowledges it should have been more successful.
love it love it love it, so brutally honest.
50K a week at 18 is ridiculous. you need to be so disciplined to stay level headed.
That was late 2000s, imagine now😳
He must had a good support around him like family
@@greatestanalyser2354 it’s like earning £120k a week at 18 today
To be fair, 5k a week is a fair old whack (260k a year!), let alone 50k!
@@Ale-fd6uj what? no its not lol i know inflation is a thing but money hasn't doubled in value since then
loving the banter gd chat
Love his honesty, top man
Richard was so good he was my best depender in 2010-2013
Love his honesty god bless him
Micah 'burst on to the scene richards' what a city legend he was the best defender in the league until his injury. 🇮🇪
You must on the same stuff Micah was when he had 50k a week.
I remember him playing against United storming out of defence to press Scholes, monster back in the day
Micah loves that burst onto the scene meme
very honest player and great persnality i just wish he would have been fitter at Villa but injuries were too much
I had the pleasure of working with one of micah's dads friends for a while, he was a hgv driver, and if that was one of micah's family friends, they must be a great family as he was a lovely bloke. I used to have great banter with him as he was a man utd fan and I'm a hammer👍👍🤣😂⚒⚒⚒⚒
