My husband and I share a day planner so both of us always know what is happening. It is kept open all the time on our "parent table". An old sewing table in our living room. We also keep important mail there, it is where our children put notes home from school for us and it is where we put our phones when we are home. Works for us.

One tip to add: if you can do it in 60 seconds or less, do it now! Don't put it off 😊 ie load the dishwasher or pick up the shoes. It's so much easier when you're right there instead of coming back to it when it's driving you crazy.

I do something similar, just that I have a 2-minute rule. Quickly call to make an appointment, reply to an easy email or tidy something up. Helps me stay on top of things :)

I always cook a big batch of diner so that the next day I only spend a few minutes warming it up instead of a whole hour cooking a new meal. Sometimes we even eat the same meal 3 days in a row, cook a new meal, eat it 3 days in a row. We love the meals we eat so we don't mind eating the same meal a couple of days!

What helped me a lot was taking my biggest cleaning jobs (kitchen and bathroom) and tack a little bit of that big job to already existing habits/routines. So instead of cleaning the bathroom at once every week, I clean a little bit every day after brushing my teeth in the morning for a minute or so. That way, when comes cleaning time, I only have to clean the floors and walls and it's not overwhelming any more. For the kitchen, I set a timer and clean for 3 minutes after evening dishes.

Oh this is perfect, I can't wait to watch! I have been feeling like I'm drowning recently too, the last few weeks my to do list has.not.budged and I feel like I'm always busy but my to do list never gets shorter and my house is never clean!!

Great tips. Definitely took me a few years to learn these aswell. Little pockets of time when the kids are napping or playing independently are the only way I get any housework done, because I refuse to spend an hour after the kids go to bed cleaning. That’s strictly me time

Yes to all of these! Although I would kindly debate sleep. I think sometimes 30-60 minutes is worth the sacrifice most days.
My family is in a prolonged busy season with a child with cancer and corresponding treatments that take me and him hours away…I have to let so much go, but I would add a few things:
    1. Don’t stress to penny pinch (buy that bagel at the hospital, get takeout, shop online instead of thrifting, using instacart, a house keeper). If it can be done within my income parameters then I will for now.
    2. Ask for help! Your mom friends, your mom or mom in law, your sister or sister in law. If you are drowning, reach out. ❤ Community is important. You don’t have to have a kid with cancer or a new baby.
    3. Priorities are so important. Sometimes we make sacrifices for one another to foster a healthy schedule for the family. Mom Group is too much this week or we did co-op but skipped a playdate or my kids can’t go in different directions (soccer & baseball & dance). We all have seasons!

Love your channel! I have a suggestion. I see on your chalkboard that you have the “hangman” game. I’m a retired kindergarten teacher and my kids loved that game but I was really uncomfortable with the concept of “hangman” so I changed it to a “wheel” and divided the wheel into 8 sections. As a child would guess a letter not in the word I’d write that letter in one section of the wheel. The game is played exactly the same except without body parts.
    Just a suggestion!!!!
    Blessings

The "hangman" concept also makes me uncomfortable. My school used an apple tree instead; each missed letter was an apple off the tree.

I also learned to use small pockets of time the hardest way as my 11 week old refuses to be put down even when asleep I end up doing five minutes or ten minutes tasks whenever his good mood allows me to do chores.

I had this exact problem until my sister gave me a stupidly simple tip and now I can put my baby down. All it is, is to hold/rock them to sleep. Once they're asleep, wait 5-15 mins (try not to go more than 15 mins) until you can move and they don't jerk awake. Then you can put them down fairly easily. My baby is 5 months old now so it may be a combo of what I said and just simply being older... Also when laying them down, touch their feet and butt the bed first, wait just a second, then put their head down. Good luck!

I’ve been watching you ever since I was pregnant back in 2019 right now I’m dealing with disciplinary issues and I’ve tried just about every angle and I’m wondering if you have an I haven’t realized it or if you can in the future do a video on how to discipline your children. I know every child is different and responds differently to different ways of discipline whether it’s time out, gentle parenting, etc., please help give advice. My child is autistic which makes a little extra harder, but I’ve been trying to be as patient and gentle as I can. If anyone else sees this that happens to have an autistic child that can give advice on what to do please help anyways love you all. Hope you have a great day and week happy Halloween.

I have been a long time follower and subscriber of yours, however after going down the reddit rabbit hole of your Snark page, it’s insane how much you are trying to be like Milena and Lisa. And now i can’t unsee it. Tbh your snark page is extremely entertaining and all i do now is get second hand embarrassment for you and Milena 🥱
