I think repeating lyrics can be really effective in illustrating when an artist dwells on a topic or wants the listener to think closely about something. Sufjan Stevens on "Casimir Pulaski Day" ending the song with "And he takes, and he takes, and he takes" is so heart-wrenching exactly because he repeats the line, as though Stevens himself is trying to come to terms with it or grappling with his own faith over the death of a friend.

Stormy Weather off of Pixies- Bossanova (1990) has only one line to the three minute track: “It is time for stormy weather” And this song hits me like an emotional ton of bricks every time. One instance where i think one line repeated is all the song needs and it fits the mood perfectly

Evan Moses I have a feeling he’s gonna give it a 5/10 (at the very highest) if he ever does it. To me, the album overall is a 70/100.
Decent 5 for me, It has good songs like Nero Forte and Solway Firth, but most of them are pretty underwhelming

@fantano , adding onto the 'Repetitive Lyrics' question; how do you feel about Daft Punk's 'Around The World'?
I mean, all of their tracks have repeted lyrics in them and it isn't the focus, but this is one has the same 3 words in the whole track and I think the song could've gone without the lyrics.
In dance music of any kind I think repetitive lyrics are pretty essential to complement the driving beat/repetition. That's why I don't mind it in disco or house or techno etc
