TRUBS UP!👍! Nice tutorial and smooth jumps! S22 is great for that! Can't wait to ride again and do jumps again, but first knee surgery on Tuesday and some rehab!!
Excellent tutorial, One thing someone taught me that I was doing wrong with bigger jumps was I was preloading and manually jumping into the launch. Where as its better to let the wheel take you and as you have shown once airborne then toes forward knees up. Top advice!
Thanks for taking the time. Will try out the toes down knees up at my local pump track tomorrow. My landings are rough due to not committing and not wanting too much air where the wheel would freespin and cut out. I had a few weird issues with the T4 where it tilted me back on landing (beeps and all).
I absolutely know the feeling of the T4 tilting back on landings, I have a video up with blue and pink writing in the thumbnail, in that video the T4 drops me off the back MANY times. I’m actually going to make a video tomorrow, sort of like this one, to try and get a better look at the T4 and Master landings and figure out if there’s anything I can do about it.
@@trubttam glad to know it’s not only me. Not really confident jumping with the t4. My friend Master does well on high jumps but bottoms out too much. T4 dropped me a few times that day I went to practice the technique you mentioned. I didn’t start off small.
@@DODOisbetter t4 is a great wheel, but it does not jump as well as the s22. I have a video of the t4 at this spot ua-cam.com/video/xqodkD0ZFQ0/v-deo.html
Sweet Tutorial brother! Biggest take away for me was the toes forward tip as I still need to work on wheel spin. The only thing missing was a section on Suspension settings for jumps. Do having a soft or stiffer setting make a big difference? I would imagen stiffer settings would be better for the launch but a softer setting is better for landings. Do you have a preference? Thanks again for the awesome vid! 😎
I think suspension set up is super personal preference-y, no right or wrong way to go about it, I for one like a very firm suspension with a pretty quick rebound, with coil shocks on the s22 I can’t get the compression as firm as I would like using the 750lb spring. I’m gonna try the Ning Ning 900lb spring whenever it shows up. My air shock on my s22 pro is tuned super progressive and very firm at the end of the stroke 👌
@@trubttam Right on, guess I'll have to keep hitting them jumps while trying different set ups. You coming up for this year's Shredfest? There should be more trail riders this year. 😎
TTTTTTTTRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUBBBBBBBB!!!!! This is the video I’ve been waiting for! So jealous of the jump park Done some small sketchy feeling jumps on my 16x on mtb tracks( now rocking bent rim! ) but never really known the theory, thanks so much! I’m currently saving for my next (2nd) whee and I’ve got my eye on the new Patton... if I. Thinking about improving my jump game... given that I weigh 150lbs in my underwear what suspension variant would you recommend... feel free to answer or laugh at my choice, either way I plan on sticking with the Patton because of the Water resistance (see wrong way) and I also will use the wheel to commute in the rainy uk.
I weigh about the same as you, I’d love to recommend the s22 pro but I’ve blown the motherboard 3 times now on it so it’s not very reliable 😭 Patton will probably be a great wheel, I’m not picky about what other people ride, I almost wish I never knew what s22 felt like but now that I do I love it and will keep buying boards to stay riding 🤣
Such a GREAT tut!!! Thank you so much for doing this!!! Extremely inspirational! I was curious if you're still using the God Mod, & if/how much you would recommend it? Thanks again, & keep it up. 🤘😇🤙
I have the god mod still installed on the s22 OG I’m on in this video. My s22 pro with 40T cells doesn’t have the mod and is more powerful, but I’ve also burned 2 motherboards on the pro, don’t know enough to say if god mod has played any roll in the OG surviving better but 🤷♂️ there’s that.
Good stuff man, thanks for the share. I trail and hit jumps never really paid to much attention to my position of wheel to posture. I just sheered the suspension pins on the s22. You ever have that happen?
Yup I’ve busted those before, luckily it was at this jump park so I didn’t have to go far to get to the truck 🙏 I’ve seen some guys swapping the hardware for some heavy duty bolts, looks pretty sweet.
So... I heard on Rogers video that you have problems jumping the Master. I did not notice before. I ride the Master. On long jumps (relatively flat) I feel no problem. But a few days ago I practiced steeper jumps, and my Master kind of tilt backwards in the air. Is that the same problem you feel? Makes me a bit concerned. I can compensate now om my relatively small (but steep) jumps. But will it just lean more and more back? What is your experience jumping the Master?
Seems like its really similar to airing out on a skateboard pump the jump by starting squatted and progressively extend as you reach the lip, suck up those legs then stomp out your landing
Finally somebody covers jumping basics right.
Excellent ! ... I always missed qualified tutorials of things on EUC ! Good job ! MTB community have a lot of them, so I'm happy to see this for EUC!
Thank you! I think the weather has just been bad for most people, EUC content should start picking back up soon enough 😁
Thanks TRUB. This was the video I've been waiting for. Nice one!
This is a perfect jump tutorial, man. Well done.
Just settling down to watch this long awaited video... can’t wait!
Thanks, great to hear an explanation like you did.
I gotta try it! (V13)
Thanks, I needed these tips. Best advice, toes down knees up. Great how to video!
Just what I needed. At the right time for me as well 😊
Great job 👍
Good luck out there dude!
I really needed this the knee's up toe down pointer is a good one. I need to try that.
Hope it helps! Things really started to click for me after my friend taught me that 👍
Soo good, one of the best EUC videos on the net. Thanks Matt
Thanks dude 😁
Great tutorial. Just what the doc ordered! Thanks Matt 👍

Let’s go!!! Let me know if you want any more detail on certain aspects 👍
Perfect timing! The local bike park in my area is about to open for the season. Cant wait to use these tips while learning to jump my Sherman S.
Excellent jumping tutorial! Thank you so much 🙌

How is the t4 now can it be jumped? Have you broken a rim? And is it a good wheel. I'm going to buy it and are looking to jump it so just wondering

Not yet started jumping on my S22, probably not till I find the right pads
FWIW I like kai and grizzla a lot
Idk how Shibby does it on stock pads 🤯
the single most important point of this video: have a nice jump park nearby
It’s nice but definitely not necessary at all
@@trubttam so how will you jump without any jumps? Like, no jumps at all anywhere. Not even self build forest ones
@@lefotografion you specifically said jump park dude.
@@trubttam yea ok fair, sorry. Just meant that it's hard to train without nice jumps, which slowly get bigger and are well maintained.
